  • Welcome to yet another video! Thank you for joining!
    This time we’re flying with another very requested Indian airline: Vistara.
    They I’ve heard multiple times from many of you, and even from Vistara themselves, that they’re India’s best airline. That’s a strong statement, so of course I had to see for myself!
    Spoiler alert: They’re great!
    Now keep in mind that this is only a 2.5 hour flight! I don’t think such service exists on any of the American/Euro/Australian continents.
    Join along and see for yourself!
    I hope you all enjoy!
    Today we are showcasing you the following flight:
    From: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
    To: Dubai International Airport, The United Arab Emirats
    Flight Number: UK201
    Aircraft Type: Airbus A321neo
    Registration: VT-TVB
    Flight Time: 02:28
    Don’t forget to like and subscribe if you enjoyed our video!
    Feel free to leave a comment with your opinion and feedback.
    Have a nice one!

      It is a great A321 indeed.. I like that slowly more and more airlines are fitting narrow bodies with such a product. We deserve better all economy sardine cans!
      The crew on this flight went one step ahead without me even asking for anything. The senior saw I was having a good time and saw an opportunity to make my day even better.

    Wow, I learnt a lot more in your video (first one I've watched) than all the other hours combined of other flight reviewers. You clearly know a lot and put a lot of effort into the video (identifying planes visible on tarmac was impressive attention to detail). Kudos and Subscribed!
    Also, the airport is not going to expand but instead a new one is being built in Navi Mumbai (like Bangalore a bit outside the main Mumbai). And yes, slums would be relocated as there is a redevelopment effort that has been finalized just a couple of months ago. Since the area near the current airport is one of the busiest area in Mumbai, it is worth a lot. Also, due to the airport there is a high rise restriction in the area. Hopefully with the relocation, it can ease up the area a bit with high rise building.

      lol... Vistara and AI both are owned by TATA. Modernization of AI has just started with the appointment of a new CEO and an order of brand new A350s is on table.
      AI is no match to Delta. Delta is North America's premier, most successful, and largest Airline company with 1000s of daily flights and billions in revenue. AI is no where close to it.

As you may know TATA's are the original owners of AI back when it used to be the best airline in the world called the Maharaja of airlines with the mascot. Now TATA has just taken over, give it another couple of years or so before it regains its top spot... more than 50 A350's and 150 narrow bodies are on order...

    vistara actually gives me QA vibes, especially with their purple-y look of the cabin and the product, I won't mind flying with airlines like these on the a321nx with the IFE and that' but only for like short-mid ranges(5hrs max-ish), and Im even hoping that other airlines will do the same at vistara with all narrowbodies, it'll change the whole market\competition imo.

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  Год назад

      You’re kind of right.. It does give some of those vibes mixed with SQ..
      Crew are all trained for the highest levels of respect and service.
      I also wish all airlines would copy their narrowbodies but I don’t think it would be possible to earn any money like that. The business model works for Vistara and all other airlines in that region but it would just be impossible in Europe as people are fare conscious there rather then quality..

    • @Unica25.
      @Unica25. Год назад

      @@TheLayoverAviation yeah idk i felt it strongly when i saw the colorway of the cabin, and yes i know its kinda impossible to do that with the narrowbodies in europe especially when theres the low-cost carriers with their narrows, but i mean i would want to see that on the narrowbd's of Elal for example they fly their 737's to places that i flew with a330's to, so it seems weird to me, aside from the ife, the quality wise should be matched to vistara's.

    Vistara currently is the best Indian carrier and they operate the Dreamliners on their long haul international routes. A fun fact is that they serve freshly brewed Starbucks coffee in Business class. After putting two and two together it all makes sense as Starbucks in India is also owned by the Tatas. Thank you Homer, always appreciate your comments.
      So both Boeing and Airbus have a way to “trick” the computers in order to save fuel and engine wear on take off.
      By making the computer believe it’s piping hot outside the auto thrust system will automatically limit the maximum power available to the engines.
      For example, I just drove right now from Dubai to Abu Dhabi (I’m writing from the Etihad Business Lounge, a video in Business for you😋) and the temperature was 36C. Instead of the usual 140km/h I would drive in the “winter” today I came at 110km/h as I don’t want to push my engine under these conditions. I drive much slower in the hot summer.
      So the same way I limit my pedal, the plane does too.
      Don’t you miss the days where each Euro airline was serving hot meals on European flights? I hope Asian/ME airlines keep doing the same.
      I don’t want to live another 100 years! I’m already whining how things used to be better before, imagine how I would sound if I complained how great things were in the previous millennium..
      I hope Lufthansa makes a comeback in some way. I really have fond memories of them and they have the full potential. If I could choose any airline to turn around some day, that would be LH.
      See you around my friend!

      Tips.. There has never ever in history been a recorded accident due to turbulence!

      I have met people that do get absolutely stressed and anxious but all I recommend is to have a window seat and try to understand everything that is going on. All has a reason.
      Turbulence can be explained, even the very bad one. If you ever experience this, ask the crew and I’m sure somebody will explain why this is happening at that time. Maybe clouds, maybe changing seasons, maybe jet streams.. It all depends!

      In Covid most airlines had the exact amount of meals of the number of people, but besides that airlines usually get a tiny bit extra. I specially noticed how in India they always have plenty extra as people tend to ask for seconds.
      In some parts of the world generosity is part of hospitality, so it would be a little nasty to say “no” to a bit more food.

    If I may :
    Your assertion : “You can see the great effect the flaps have as you can see how
    the nose suddenly pitches down on their deployment.” - This is incorrect.
    Flaps are lowered to increase the surface of the wing which in turn provides additional lift to compensate for the reduction velocity as the aircraft prepares for landing.
    Flaps have little to nothing to do with the pitch ( ie lowering or raising of the aircraft’s nose ). The pitch of the aircraft is controlled by the horizontal stabilisers, ie smaller “wings” located at the rear of the fuselage.
    Hope u do not mind this clarification.

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  Год назад +1

      Sorry to have to correct you, but I’ll copy paste a text from the FAA website:
      Flap extension has a definite effect on the airplane's pitch behavior. The increased camber from flap deflection produces lift primarily on the rear portion of the wing, producing a nose-down force. This pitch behavior varies on different airplane designs.
      flaps do lower the aircraft nose a lot.
      The plane that I’ve flown with the most noticeable flap extension nose-down behavior is when selecting flaps 2 on the A319-A320
