This is one of Sammo Hung's best performances. It is uncanny how accurately he mimics Bruce Lee in this movie. Not just the fighting, but his facial expressions and inflections as well.
Sammo has got it all - great martial artist / great at comedy and drama / great director! One of the most talented movie guys in any country....PERIOD. 🤕👍
@@johnchavezjr3312 Sammo was an incredibly accomplished martial artist in his own right and was fast and powerful. According to many reports they had some friendly bouts with each other than often ended in a stalemate. Bruce only started to get the upperhand when he started cross training in other disciplines (Judo, Savate) which is what inspired that scene in Enter The Dragon.
@@PeaceDweller I don't think Bruce sparred Sammo when Bruce was still a Wing Chun purist, considering that he had started cross training in the mid 60's which is when Sammo could've only been a young teenager. Not to mention Bruce didn't really stay in Hong Kong extensively until the early 70's.
@@tv_themes No due Sammo was acting like him and he knew him in real life he played in two of his movies Enter the Dragon and Game of Death. The other guy was trying to act like Bruce.
I love this clip. Why? Because Sammo shows that it does not matter what kind of body you have. If you are trained in the martial arts and flexible, everything is possible.
Samo is probably the fastest big man I've seen in martial arts period! Dude has some unreal agility for someone his size. Big fan of all of them growing up.
Anyone who works with Sammo knows he hits really hard. Maybe people in the west aren't familiar with Sammo like they did with Jackie, Jet Li and Donnie but he's still one of the best martial artist onscreen regardless of his size. Search for his other movies like Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars, Padicab Driver and SPL. I would even recommend the first season of his martial arts series in the west Martial Law over Jackie's Rush Hour movies.
The scene at 4:30 when Sammo grabbed his attacker by the hair is a hommage of a similar scene in Enter The Dragon when Bruce Lee grabbed his attacker, who was played by Jackie Chan, by the hair. Both Sammo and Jackie appeared as figurants in that movie.
Bruceploitation films had so many Bruce Lee clones like Bruce Li, Bruce Le or Dragon Lee, and film name sound like Bruce Lee films original name: First of Fury II, Enter the Game of Death, The Big Boss II, Exit the Dragon Enter the Tiger, Way of the Dragon 2
It's a great comedy movie that's intentionally spoofing Bruceplotation films. I also think Sammo Hung made this spoof as some sort of commentary on the "genre" at the time & how insulting & disrespectful it was for filmakers purposely put Lee's name on movies after his death.
You gotta love when the fake Bruce gets low and that slows telegraphs his kick, so Sammo just counter blows him. It directly shows how the fake is classically trained and doesn't actually understand why Bruce would stand like that. You can't kick fast if you have to stand up first
@matrix91234 From what we know from conversations about Lee We know that Lee didn't disrespect the stuntmen. He was pretty good with the stuntmen. These are fabrications that Tarantino threw out of his ass. Those who challenge his are of course different. What should he have done? Of course, you will beat those who want to be beaten :) Lee couldn't get along with the directors, their assistants, the meddlers, in short, the upper class in the productions. I'm sure he would have enjoyed kicking Tarantino's ass :)
Whoa. Aside from the obvious that he looked very young (of course he was young back then) this is a bit surprising because he was not always _that_ fat. My memory of seeing his first few movies I remember him to be already fat & round, although still very fast with kicks. This film here must be from before.
You know I have heard about a youtuber named daetrix is making a show called the rise of the last dragon animated series based on the last dragon movie from 1985 its like a bruce lee movie but the story is different
By Hong Kong film convention, he's considered fat for a leading actor. Fortunately Sammo conquered all the stereotypes and became a great director and a leading action star in his prime in the 80s.
Sammo is the best choreographer ever.. most of the kung fu action or not kungfu we watch in our lives are made by him.. I think even the real enter the dragon.
Apart from Caucasian men, Asian men are part of one of the strongest, if not the strongest race on this planet. I've worked with full Asian workforce and they will work all people under the table, they are phenomenal with endurance, smarts and strength.

Sammo Hung actually sparred with Bruce Lee in real life, so he's familiar with how Lee actually fights in real life.
Yeah he was the one he was wrestling with in Enter the Dragon.

Way better than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
No question there. Tarantino's a jealous little twat trying to get a few cheap laughs by shit-talking a dead man.

It also refrenced bruce's 1972 fist of fury
But Sammo wasn't an extra he fought Bruce at the beginning
Haha the Chung Fat is laughing on the ground @ 4:40. Sigh.. miss all these old school legends.
Good catch! The other guy laughing next to him looks like the late Lam Ching-Ying.
@@GabrielThum oh wow!! nice catch too must have been fun working on that set.

I can’t forget Enter the dragon the first fight scene Bruce Lee vs Sammo hung and it was amazing
