So last time we headed out to the ranch we built a bench press out of a tree. And that was cool. But we thought to ourselves "you know what'd be really cool? An entire GYM built from trees!" So that's exactly what we did. Squat Rack, Bench Press, Deadlift, Dumbbells. You name it, we built it. Just call it the primitive technology fitness center!

For those who are interested the "tree" they used is Western Juniper. Its considered a fire hazard and encroaches on natural grasslands. Its also either a shrub or tree depending on how it chooses to grow.

I just watch these videos to see what its like to have a dad that wants to spend time with you. It's impressive to build a gym out of trees, but its more impressive to have a dad who genuinely wants to hang out with you.

Before you say anything about TREES being CUT:
These were dried, dead trees that instead of oxygen would give you a FIRE HAZARD.

I did this same thing at my house a few months back, except I didn’t bother with slices. I just cut down a tree, skinned off the bark, finished it, and added handles for front squats and rows. I wrapped it in chains for additional weight. Worked really well, actually.
