Finally found someone actually, empirically, trying to test a variable, instead of merely regurgitating hearsay or saying "this is it" without evidence or data! Nice, calm video, informative as hell! Earned my sub!
For anyone who is wondering, this works for RTAs too! I only use MTL RTA tanks with 70/30 PG/VG, 1 om to .8 om round kanthal wire spaced. I searched for months and watched hundreds of youtube videos trying to figure out why I was getting popping, spit back, and leaking. I THOUGHT I was using what is considered a lot of cotton because so many of the vaping gurus out there preach how we shouldn't pack it in too tight. I watched this video and re wicked my tanks very tight, like I had to hold the coil to pull through. I also didn't remove the outside part off the Japanese cotton pad like so many say to do. I even pushed it into the wicking wells without fluffing, combing, or trimming. The whole time I was thinking that there is no way this is going to work. Well, so far it's working beautifully. I'm sitting here chain vaping with no dry hits and my tanks are no longer spitting at me. It also hasn't affected the amount of vapor or flavor in a negative way. I can't wait to see how these wicks hold up to a full day of vaping. Removing them isn't going to be easy, but wire is pretty cheap, I'll recoil if I have to, it's way better than dealing with juice on my hands and in my mouth. Thank you Morten, you saved me from so much frustration.
G'day Morten, My name is Adam and I am in Adelaide, Australia and I am your newest subscriber.. I really enjoyed this video right from the start when you said I am here so you don't have to be. Very informative and unbiased approach to your experiment. It is refreshing to watch something without all the hype and noise that usually accompanies these types of vids. Thanks and keep up the good work, I will definitely be watching all your videos in the future.
I just pulled and rewicked my drop rda. And made it as tight as I could, and I must agree Morten. I had to turn my wattage down from 120 to 100, still the clouds are better and the flavour is as good or slightly better. You good sir have earned yourself a new subscriber! Now off to watch some airflow videos, while waiting for the follow up on this one lol!
Just subbed here from the U.S.. you are pushing boundaries and informing the rest of us good job. I have always wicked tighter than most and get shit for it in shops but have always found that I can vape my wicks dry before having to reload while other tend to always keep wicks wet.
Awesome! Thanks for doing this video, and so quickly too. This has basically shown the results I've obtained through my own testing. More cotton is better, as long as you don't screw up your coil in the process of wicking, and as long as you don't do anything crazy like roll it super tight. (In my experience, rolling it makes it easier to get more cotton through the coil but doesn't perform nearly as well once you actually get to wicking it.) But overall, less cotton has always led to a higher tendency towards spitback. As you've pointed out in your other videos, some people must just enjoy the experience of getting spitback, misinterpreting it for flavor, but I find it completely undesirable. In videos by more advanced RUclipsrs, such as DJLsb Vapes, as well as tutorials by the coil builder m.terk, you can see a clear tendency towards a lot of cotton, and this was my inspiration in my own testing for going thicker and thicker despite my brain telling me "no, that's /way/ too much cotton!"
I just started dripping, I just subbed to your channel cause I seen you on inside the minds. I just wicked my nano as tight as I could and it really does make a difference. There’s little to no spit back and I can go longer between drips. Keep up the good work on your videos. They are very relaxing and very informative! Love your sweaters by the way!
Your are so right. I just tried it (in an RTA) and it works perfect. Flavor Spot on! What the hell. I've should seen this video earlier. Thanks so much
Thanks for doing this. Now I look at any wicking video, and everyone is saying the same wrong thing over and over .. "dont wick too hard, fluff your cotton. Leave your wicking method in the comments" - yeah, go see Morten's video !!
After some real life testing, on a Tsunami RDA, to rule out coil placement issues, I had a bit of spatter, hotter vape and a lot more vape and flavor. I got back to the vapor and flavor I had before by going down 20% in effect (Watt), and the spatter was gone. So a tighter wick is more effective, or, as my realist son says; The coil is working truer to its capacity. We have deduced this evening, and we think we know how to explain the physics behind the stuff we observe. For now the benefit of a tight wick lies in saving energy, because I don't like spatter. I'll be back with more when the picture is clearer.
Thank you for taking the time. I've been wanting to get into RDA's for a while now and am currently waiting for a mech mod kit and deck from VGod, so I'm trying to learn all I can about building my own coils. This video definitely helped. And btw... you are adorable! :-)
Make sure you do your research and get everything you need to vape a mech mod safely. You'll need a way to check battery voltage, how many amps your coils are drawing vs. how many amps your batteries can safely push, an ohm reader (or a good regulated mod to build on). No one wants to see you on the news after all. Until battery terminology is second nature to you, I would strongly advise you to stay above .3 ohms. Battery Mooch should be a man that you feel like you know personally. :)
Thank you Oen for taking the time to do this experiment, and sharing your findings, I've heard people say moderate loose to firm to tight, it was hard to know what to believe, but you proved it conclusively so I have no doubt in your findings. and I got a new catchphrase out of it " wick hard" lol
4 years late seeing this, I use geekvape zeus x with single alien coil at 38 watts, now rewicked using your method I'm down at 34 watts and getting more vapour and better taste than previously, so it works well, thank's.
This is against almost all wicking techniques. I tested it with Aromizer Supreme V2 RDTA. And wow. Thanks man. You're goddamn right. Amazing video. Thanks so much.
I would try doing a time lapped video where you speed up the footage to see a more obvious difference between to different wicking styles and that would give a better description visually. I also have heard from other known builders that wicking a coil too tight can cause less wicking to the coil.
Time laps is indeed fun, but then I have less control of the timing of the experiment. Better to speed up the video in post production. I'll look into it on the next video.
What sorcery is this? Recently tried it on my pnp rba “for voopoo vinci x/ drag x” i am using the japanese cotton. Build is fused clapton 28g 6 wraps reading at 0.3ohm i did was wick it tight. Cut a a pad and rolled it so tight and inserted it. Then did not fluff the ends also. And it works like a charm! Before i usually vape at this build at 35-45 watts. Now only at 25 and same flavor no dry hits and chain vapes like a charm. Also less of a gunk issue! Now this is a great way to wick RBA or rta
I came back to this video to say that your findings were consistent with these of A. das, A. jain & A. pant in their article "Study on the liquid flow behaviour of cotton wick" in 2008, published on the 9th volume of Fibers and Polymers journal.
Toight like a tiger! The difficulty is using tanks with smaller wick channels - what do you do with your excess cotton if you wick tight and don't fluff. Just cut diagonally?
Hello! I'm sorry, but I know nothing about tanks. I have actually never owned one. All I know is that a lot of people have great results with this method, both RDTA and RTA users.
I can't thank you enough for this! I somehow never got the clue that more cotton means more material to soak liquid. I always thought that if you put more cotton it has not enough space between the cotton fibers because they are so jammed together in the coil, but I was so wrong with this. I have never ever seen someone actually test it out, just speaking about their experiences and not actual tests. It's such an easy thing to do and it makes so much sense, but I never came to the idea to test it like this. Thank you again Morten, just wicked my coils new and see there.. I can taste something without hot drops catapulting into my throat or burning my tongue.
Getting better by the videos I viewing! Thank you for all your hard work! I’ll be sharing your channel to others, who need to go back to the School of Life (& Vaping)
Your very Welcome! Found you via RUclips recommendations and it is a great recommendation! I am about to view flat vs. clapton, because use triple fused [3x28/36]
Great! If you can get direct air flow on the coil(s), flat wire is much better. For indirect flow (Dead Rabbit), they are too effective, and the claptons are better choise for flavor because of the slow ramp up.
Tnx Oen. This confirmed my experience. I was having spitback issue's and so I saw a video telling to wick harder. And it worked. I didn't know I could go THAT tight tho😆
I'm applying my wicks pretty firm but it's disintegrating in the coil after just two day's. What am I doing wrong? I use 100% Japanese Cotton for the wicks
I really liked your video. Its interesting to see the scientific experiment of the whole thing because people these days just make videos and say "you want to wick it tight, but not too tight" and although that's cool for the overall video, it doesn't really explain what that means. Thanks for showing us!
Just spent a couple hours doing a lot of rewicking. 2 Aromamizer Supremes, 4 Aromamizer Supreme V2s a Wotofo Bravo RTA, 3 Boreas V2s and 2 Aromamizer v2s (older 22mm tank). I can confirm that this method really does work excellent. I used to peel off the outer layers and fluff the ends. When I rewicked I left all the layers on I wicked quite tightly and I disturbed the ends as little as possible. I am now getting a very saturated dense flavorful and much more satisfying vape. My coils are 26/36 Kanthal Claptons 7 wraps 3mm ID and come out about .48 ohms in most my tanks and I'm vaping them at 45 watts. The Bravo is 26/32 Claptons SS and about .35ohm. So I can confirm that this does work very well in different types of RTAs. Now I need to do this to my RDAs especially both my Drops which have Aliens and are very spitty.
Thank you sir! Most reports regarding RTAs are positive. All reports regarding RDAs are positive. Give some feedback on the Drop with aliens. Sounds like a worst case scenario ;-)
I managed to remount the Aliens a little bit lower and I rewicked them tightly with all the layers on and now the spit back is all gone and I am enjoying the Drop very much.
Morten...this is truly phenomenal fascinating stuff. I'm so glad you have this posted. I actually do sick my coils hard such as you suggest to the point that he's I have to hold the coil as I'm pulling the wick through. Now, as far as how long I keep the tails and how thick is totally dependent upon the rda of rta that I'm wicking. I'm going to finish your series on this today. I am new to your channel as I caught you on Inside the Minds last night. Thank you for staying on all the way through that. You were a very awesome guest and I hope we see more of You. Please follow through on the 502..I would love to hear your thoughts on this. I own one, but more are on the way. Stay cool Morten!! You have definitely aquired me as a subscriber and a fan..Great stuff👍☺🌊
Hi Morten, that was extremely interesting, and thank you for your time doing the research. I will watch the other parts as soon as I can. I am pleased to see your subscriber numbers going up.
This makes me wonder which cotton is better: COTNThreads or Cotton Bacon. I've yet to use they bacon myself but COTNThreads wicks are HUGE and very fluffy.
Its simple. The harder you wick, the denser the cotton gets, therefore increasing capillary forces which will suck up the liquid much faster although the volume of liquid that gets sucked up will decrease a bit since you have a denser cotton which leaves less room for the liquid. Wicking hard is fine, as long as you dont force a 2cm wide strip of cotton through the coil
Tighter wick means less droplets and spatter and popping. The taste in the hot, liquid juice is more noticable than in the vape. It is a matter of choice. Good observation on your part. I personally do not like the hot spatter.
Hi ! Nice test; "spectacular pictures" are not necessary - i think, the results are spectacular ! Thanks for this little experiment ! A lot of reviewer in the german area always say since while, " do it fluffy fluffy fluffy... ". I did that too, but I was never really satisfied with the result. So - i`ve seen this video today for the first time and i will test to vape with tighter wicks. Greetings from Germany :)
I Wick Tight so that I can just pull through the coil, looser wicks need replacing more often , Thin the very tips (5mm) and fluff only the ends (10mm), I can make my wicks last for weeks but prefer to change the once per week, Kendo Gold is my go to for my prefered 4mm dia coils made from round NI90 @ 0.09 - 0.12ohms
Maybe on a dripper it doesnt matter becaus there is more than engough juice, on a rta rdta etc if you wick to tight there is only cotton taste and you alter the capilary effect so much that no juice will flow
On RTAs you need to make sure there is a hole through the ports. I have no problems on RTAs no matter how tight I wick. Some people use a piece of mesh as a snorkle to get around this problem.
Hello Morten, something hit me while watching you pull the rolled cotton apart. What if you made about 6-7 small rolls just like the saturated center and wicked with them? I feel like they could help the efficiency of the fibers. The spacing between them might have an effect as well.
I've started using this tighter wick technic recently. It works great with Aliens and Fused Claptons and reduces them poping like crazy lol. Keep up the great work man. :) And thanks for the info ;)
Very interesting Oen! I’ve always liked my wicks super dense. The only problem I have found is sometimes moving the coil or touching it too much can bring some of those hotspots back, even after getting them all out originally. Thanks for taking the time to do this, super cool!
Thanks Kyle! Because I hammer my wire myself, I have always spaced coils. Just do a check with juice before you mount the barrel. I have just found out that all of my coils need one or two more wraps, because they are too effective now :-)
Wick hard! And then wick harder!! Just tried in my Kylin RTA, what a mind blowing difference! Yanked it through my 3mm dual coils. Cut and tucked. Perfecto, no splatter, loads of flavor.
hello Sir, i really love this video.. and i will watch all the series. even right away in the middle i rewick my RDA with your method and get a denser and more flavorful vape. As a little suggestion, if you be able to please add some guide (just by video editing), which one is which. Once again, you rock Sir!!
I'm a big believer in tight wicking. Aside from anything else it seems to last longer since the centre doesn't collapse as easily. That said, it would have been interesting to see this experiment done with a more typical wick length, as you'd never have the tails that long on a typical RDA
Yes and no:-) Jurin`s law still applies, the tighter the fibres, the faster and higher the capillary effect pulls up liquids. To us, this is only one aspect. As you mention, the problem with burnt cotton is almost non-exsistent. Also there is less spatter. I think the speed the liquid get sucked up is one of the reasons. When the distance to the liquid is just 1/4", and the coil heats everything up to a boiling point (PG/VG 180/290 degrees C) the capillary effect is lightning fast. To set up an experiment showing this is way beyond my capabilities and available resourses. But yes, it would be very interesting indeed!
Wish you would have stated the BRAND of the Japanese Cotton. I have found there to be substantial differences between brands, with "Koh Gen Do" brand being the best. Especially when taking into account things like flavor neutrality, lack of bleaches (safety), and scorch resistance. I have found that "Koh Gen Do" is more likely to survive dry hits than other cheaper brands. It also has a cleaner taste and is the purest and safest JOC on the market. IMHO
The thing about Bacon is that there is no good way to get consistent amounts of cotton from one wick to the next. KGD is not only better but you can cut one strip and get EXACTLY the same amount of cotton every single time. One strip can cover both sides of a dual coil rig as well which makes it really cheap too.
What if the wicks are pre-saturated? Will these methods perform the same? I think tighter wicks conduct liquid better, because there is less space to fill. If the space is already filled (cotton is saturated), the restriction will slow the re-saturation downt, won't it?
Morten Oen I understand, I've seen the videos. Thanks to you I'm now questioning everything I thought I liked about the Rabbit. I've moved my coils down in my original Goon also. According to you, on a side airflow rda, the airflow should hit the coils at 9:00 and 3:00?
I'm sure you've covered it in a video. It's just alot of information to process. You're basically saying that everything we've been doing has been wrong. I, myself enjoy questioning the "truth".
Thanks! I think you should test it! Great idea! I am only testing the stuff I'm actually using myself on a day to day basis. If there is a difference it would be nice to know. Go for it:-)
some ppl say a tight wick stops the juice travelling through the coil efficiently ? i myself would like to try tighter wicking methods but have always erred on the side of caution and wick where the cotton is easy to pull through yet has slight resistance.Im a new 3mth vaper and this is the first wicking test i have watched great work Morten newly subbed! :)
Morten I have the dead rabbit and pulse 24 I follow your vids and tried to better my build from what I learned from u. But I gota tell u I'm using a peerless rda with some nano coils with 11 wraps I had nothing and the store gave them to me for free so idk even know what they are made from but this is better flavor than anything I've had or tried. Can u look into that one cuz it's really affordable
This vid is 6 mo or so old and I haven’t caught up to your new vids but curious to know, are you still pounding round wire or did you buy a spool of ribbon? I would think it much cheaper ($ vs time) than making your own.
This applies to RDTA too right? I mean I learned from most vids and tutes that RDTA wicks should be trimmed, thinned, fluffed, or whatever aside from the usual "not too tight not too loose". I just rewicked my 22mm avocado before watching this video but yeah, think I'll rewick it again now and try to do it this way. Thanks for this !!!
Try to make an oversized wick you realy have to cram in there, and use scissors to get the proper angles and shape on the ends. Fluffing makes it slower. Oh, and lower the watt a bit till you get used to it.
Morten Oen I did not change anything except for the wick. Same coil, mod and atty. Also same wattage at 52 watts. I got a hint of a dry hit just a bit when chain vaping. Lowered it to 40 watts and it solved that. Same hits as on 52 watts if not better. Good for the battery! Thanks!!!
Bernoulli principals may play a role in that regard. You have lots of variables that would also go into the equation. Humidity, local temperature, Vg ratios used in eLiquid However, as you would know the question is always answered more correctly to the point of dry hits. As tight as possible without chocking the flow of liquid. Just my 3 year later 2 cents reply to your video...... 👍🧐
Its not that its thick...its because more spread...bigger edges...you can do with a thin one but make sure to spread wide the edges...the key is the edges...with thick cotton you will find black spot on the edges from liquid stuck...while the middle is way cleaner bcs of few liquid going there...
Im sorry Oel but i have tried the method and for me i found that i had ten percent less flavor and some dry hits. Have you by chance seen the Scottish roll method. Works awesome. Check out a tutorial from rip Trippers I've used this method for a year now and full flavor and no dry hits. Try it and you'll see you can take hit after hit when thinking that cotton is dry but amazingly no dry hits. Highly recommended.
Morten Oen made a comment again and this is fantastic method thanks! Now i can turn down my watts with the same result in flavor and battery efficient!
I make very few videos these days. I'm trying to develop some cool mods, and making them takes all my time. I will do RDA air flow videos if something interesting comes along:-)
but hear is a wonder does it work the same with clapton it would be more dramatic to see one of your coils go head to head with each other and I think we all puls our coils to prime them so how does adding heat help or hinder the wicking just a thought
Thanks for the video, interesting! But (I'm sorry I feel I say a but each time I respond to your experiment, no offense.) I do think you should have done it differently: 1) coil should be in horizontal position because it is most of the time the case in RDA, and going vertical the liquid is more prompt to fight gravity by the time it soak up juice. 2) both side of the wick should be in contact with liquid, as in RDA. 3) your support interfere. So if I may suggest I do think the experiment will be more reflecting reality by simply change the way you made the platform, and the way you fix the coils. A stiff cardboard can be the solution. ----------]---[-------- |○| ---: cardboard ][: legs of the coil passing in and bend. |○|: the coil. 😉 Thanks for you experiments as always.
I have no problems with a genuine argument, my friend:-) This time I was not going for reality, just to see if the capillary effect was hamperd by viscosity of VG and a tight fit in the coils. I could not by force make the capillary effect slow down by wicking a coil as hard as I could without damaging the coils. But the legs of the coils should have been fixed in position. But I had the tight holes on the plate, and those do not give. My initial point is somewhat proven, and I'll go from there. In real life I have seen the effect a tight wick has, and there is progress to be made. Stay tuned, and thanks for tip on method.
I rewicked using the recommended method on my mech squonker, its wicking so well now, the coil couldn't keep up. I can even see the liquid bubbling away. Impressive.
Finally found someone actually, empirically, trying to test a variable, instead of merely regurgitating hearsay or saying "this is it" without evidence or data!

Thanks Ronald, I have seen the strange look on some peoples faces too, when I vape on coils with semingly bone dry wicks. Wick hard!
Yeah, I always wick tight. Smoother hits, less popping, and less dry hits. My cottons can look bone dry and still pull 3-5 more hits.

I don't like too too much because i don't like dry hits
This is the Video iv been looking for everytime I wick I try different thickness of and tightness in different RDA's
Thank-you for the insight

Really, truly useful info, that was very well presented. Thank you very much for this video and the ones that follow
Morten thank you. I experienced the same as you. I vape now 30 watts lower and have more taste and more vape. Y'all WICK HARDER
Very nice and interesting video plus you are super nice guy with a cool beard.

in my experience tight wick inside the coil is ok, tight coil ends? not so much
Thank you for your work on this.
Hope you're well.

Thank you for the support, Brian!
Ok does the brand matter?I'm torn between Kenda, Muji Japanese cotton,Bacon, bpmods cotton, which one should I go for?
I wick not sick...auto correct😉
This is why I always make the same 5 wrap 22g KA1 coil, the only coil that can withstand the force at which I shove-in highly compressed cotton.
Hi Morten, that was extremely interesting, and thank you for your time doing the research. I will watch the other parts as soon as I can. I am pleased to see your subscriber numbers going up.
Yeah, Thanks! It's rather hectic these days, but in a good way. New discoveries and better flavor every day :-)
This makes me wonder which cotton is better: COTNThreads or Cotton Bacon.
How does tighter wicking affect flavor in your opinion sir? I find that when I wick tight the flavor tends to be muted.
Thank you so much for this great video. Love the video and the beard!
Just subbed I appreciate someone taking the time on this topic. Thank you and hope to see what's next
Thanks for support! Much appreciated.
Very interesting experiment, Morten, thank you!
Is there a video on comparing actual flavor and vapor production maybe it has something to do with the way the coil vaporized it idk
what about rtas i found and heard others say, with certain RTA to not wick tight through the coil wick more loosely
Taylor Long .Rezistance. id like to know this aswell
I Wick Tight so that I can just pull through the coil, looser wicks need replacing more often , Thin the very tips (5mm) and fluff only the ends (10mm), I can make my wicks last for weeks but prefer to change the once per week, Kendo Gold is my go to for my prefered 4mm dia coils made from round NI90 @ 0.09 - 0.12ohms
profile RDA has been teaching me/opened my eyes to how tight wicking should be
Guys remember to set your wattage down a bit now ..unless you like a harsh vape. Also remember that too much cotton will give you dry hits
Oen where are you? No Videos anymore?
I'm all right, still in Goblin Valley :-) I have not planned any more videos on vaping. Sorry.
@@mortenoen434 Sad but it's totally on you :) stay healthy
Geoff Green not too hard or you'll get dry hits😷💨
Great video ! I subbed !!
hello Sir, i really love this video.. and i will watch all the series. even right away in the middle i rewick my RDA with your method and get a denser and more flavorful vape.
Hi! First, thank you for your videos :)
And i would like to ask you, do u use muji or puff, what's your favorite? Thank you.
Muji. Way cheaper than anything else, and just as good. Buy a pound and youre set for life:-)
@@mortenoen434 thank you so much for answered ❤
awesome and very thought out and informative video. you earned a subscriber. keep it up.
Wish you would have stated the BRAND of the Japanese Cotton. I have
found there to be substantial differences between brands, with "Koh Gen
Do" brand being the best. Especially when taking into account things
like flavor neutrality, lack of bleaches (safety), and scorch
resistance. I have found that "Koh Gen Do" is more likely to survive
dry hits than other cheaper brands. It also has a cleaner taste and is
the purest and safest JOC on the market. IMHO
Thanks for the input Dan! I'll look into it when I have time to do so.
Koh Gen Doh is the best. Cotton Bacon prime is also really good, but it's a bit fragile with tight wicking, but it's a close 2nd to KGD in my opinion.
The thing about Bacon is that there is no good way to get consistent amounts of cotton from one wick to the next. KGD is not only better but you can cut one strip and get EXACTLY the same amount of cotton every single time. One strip can cover both sides of a dual coil rig as well which makes it really cheap too.
This is a great video and I had always wondered.
What if the wicks are pre-saturated? Will these methods perform the same? I think tighter wicks conduct liquid better, because there is less space to fill. If the space is already filled (cotton is saturated), the restriction will slow the re-saturation downt, won't it?
Thank you for your experiments and explanations very much.
I really love what you're doing Morten. We've spoken before about the Dead Rabbit. I sent you some pics. Have you tried it that way?
Hi my friend! And yes, it worked ok. But my Dead Rabbit is now used as an experimental platform, and has gone to The Eternal Hunting Grounds :-)
Yes Sir! You are right on the money on the Goon. Go for it and report back!
Is there someone here recall yuri of RA2?
Great videos! Do you always use a mix of 80VG/20PG? Wonder how much of a difference it would make with a thinner mix.
So how things are going? Wicking still hard? I get very dumbed flavour if I'm wicking hard as I can...
Nice video! You sure are a wicky wicked wick expert. just look at you goatee alone, excellent wick :-)
Plain round wire with lots of wraps perform very often as flat wires. I use this for my dual coil RDAs on 12-16.8 Volt mods. It's awesome!
@@mortenoen434 I'm gonna try it when I rebuild next time!
I wick pretty tight, but i'll wick tighter now, thanks, informative!
This vid is 6 mo or so old and I haven’t caught up to your new vids but curious to know, are you still pounding round wire or did you buy a spool of ribbon? I would think it much cheaper ($ vs time) than making your own.
I cant get this wire commercialy. Have to hammer still :-)
This applies to RDTA too right? I mean I learned from most vids and tutes that RDTA wicks should be trimmed, thinned, fluffed, or whatever aside from the usual "not too tight not too loose".
I just rewicked my 22mm avocado before watching this video but yeah, think I'll rewick it again now and try to do it this way. Thanks for this !!!
Try to make an oversized wick you realy have to cram in there, and use scissors to get the proper angles and shape on the ends. Fluffing makes it slower. Oh, and lower the watt a bit till you get used to it.
Morten Oen
I did not change anything except for the wick. Same coil, mod and atty. Also same wattage at 52 watts. I got a hint of a dry hit just a bit when chain vaping. Lowered it to 40 watts and it solved that. Same hits as on 52 watts if not better. Good for the battery! Thanks!!!
Great news, Junnell! I have gotten these responses from a lot of people lately. You are the first I have heard from using an RDTA. Good :-)
Bernoulli principals may play a role in that regard. 👍🧐
I agree. This is just a way to show Jurin's law of capillary effect. In other words: Thou should not fluff :-)
Its not that its thick...its because more spread...bigger edges...you can do with a thin one but make sure to spread wide the edges...the key is the edges...with thick cotton you will find black spot on the edges from liquid stuck...while the middle is way cleaner bcs of few liquid going there...
I would like to be in goblin valley.. . thanks for your work regards B-B
Well, we still have 2 meters of snow and -15 degrees outside, and slowly going bonkers here :-) But I belive you!
very interesting, going to try wicking harder
What have you named your coils? Viking coils? Norse Coils? They are excellent, btw. Bra gjort!
I call them flat wire coils :-) I thought about The Centurion or Gladiator coils, but I'm not one of those guys who name stuff :-)
ur a hero, im here from abbyvapes btw. this works great!
Thanks! Glad I could be of service:-)
Nice work .. good job
With all that testing it would have been better to actually show the wicking process so we can see Cotton resistance etc.
Will it work on RTA or RBA as well?
This is answered in the comments :-)
Morten Oen made a comment again and this is fantastic method thanks! Now i can turn down my watts with the same result in flavor and battery efficient!
Anybody out there tried it with a MTL tank? Like i.e. Siren 2? I tried it, vapes well but I'm totally insecure about the taste.
What RDA are you using?
In this video? A recoil by GrimmGreen and OhmBoy I think. First version.
I was wondering why I never see your vids anymore, then I saw I never subscribed... Regards from Africa.
I make very few videos these days. I'm trying to develop some cool mods, and making them takes all my time. I will do RDA air flow videos if something interesting comes along:-)
Excellent, thank you
Very interesting. Thanks.
I Love your Videos. Thank you for your afford 👍☀️
Btw I play metal in case your a metal guy ...u know cuz Norway... But I have some shred sessions and a good song on my channel
Interesting i must say.. Thanks
You are most welcome!
but hear is a wonder does it work the same with clapton it would be more dramatic to see one of your coils go head to head with each other and I think we all puls our coils to prime them so how does adding heat help or hinder the wicking just a thought
Very interesting!
Thanks for the video, interesting!
But (I'm sorry I feel I say a but each time I respond to your experiment, no offense.) I do think you should have done it differently:
1) coil should be in horizontal position because it is most of the time the case in RDA, and going vertical the liquid is more prompt to fight gravity by the time it soak up juice.
2) both side of the wick should be in contact with liquid, as in RDA.
3) your support interfere.
So if I may suggest I do think the experiment will be more reflecting reality by simply change the way you made the platform, and the way you fix the coils.
A stiff cardboard can be the solution.
----------]---[--------
|○|
---: cardboard
][: legs of the coil passing in and bend.
|○|: the coil.
😉
Thanks for you experiments as always.
I have no problems with a genuine argument, my friend:-)
This time I was not going for reality, just to see if the capillary effect was hamperd by viscosity of VG and a tight fit in the coils.
Holy crap!!! Jason Kidd!!! Jk. Great channel. Subbed and liked
Thank you for support Brian!
hey bud loving that beard
I rewicked using the recommended method on my mech squonker, its wicking so well now, the coil couldn't keep up. I can even see the liquid bubbling away. Impressive.
Great, Max!
Thanks bruh!
WTF it works !!! Nice BIG THX
you should *john wick* !
