Now, I am going to play devil's advocate: The don laid the foundation for Dante's betrayal. The scene where he says that Dante is now the #1 hammer and tells Pipi to retire is the catalyst. Of course, Dante had to be held overall responsible, but he put the bait out there, and because of Dante's greed and ambition, he went for it. The movie compressed the book's movie business segment greatly, almost too much. I was excited to see how the characters were portrayed. I expected Claudia to be not as attractive, and Athena I expected to be more attractive. I was looking forward to see what Dante's renaissance hats looked like. Joe Mantegna and Kristie Alley were exactly as I imagined. Alley did a great job portraying a crazy Rose Marie. Read the book (power through the first 150 pages), then watch the film. that's when i saw it, too. 25 years ago, something like that.
Love that first scene. It appears locking the doors of the car didn’t help one bit!😂
OMG!!! I remember watching this on CBS when I was 16 and fell in love with it! I saw it a few years ago somewhere but the quality was horrible.....I thought about his movie aagain today, and went to look for it (elsewhere) and couldn't find it....I was like "let me check......." and sure enough! Thank you for this!
Parts 1 and 2 are both available!
I've been looking for these miniseries forever.. thx
I read the book last week, and watched this film today. The movie was mostly true to the book, and I enjoyed the movie. The book spent too much time setting up the movie business. You will be glad you did. Yes, I was entertained.
Leggiti i libri italiani di Valsecchi la prima famiglia i romanzi sono tre prima famiglia vendetta e guerra oppure Willy melodia o anche il popolo di mezzo di gangemi o pure the father il padrino dei padrini
Watching this excellent movie on a lazy Sunday afternoon 12/15/2024. Thank you for uploading this.

Jus finished the book, Great!!! Now watching the series.
I was disappointed were you?
I have read everything Mario Puzo has written, and although the movies don't come anywhere close to the Godfather series, they are all pretty good books. Puzo had wonderful talent as a storyteller.
Directors congratulations,,I'm. Watching it for the 10 the time
Best Mafia movie I've seen since The Godfather. Awesome.♥️
The smile on his face at the end. We can only dream to fall asleep- to transition into immortality- with such a satisfied beam.

Even in very cold weather, the Don still lied "there's no informant in the family" what a classic masterpiece.
What a great movie ! I got the chills at the end when he met up with her at the airport. Such a lovely ending . 😢❤
Part II is good too
I strongly recommend that you read the book too. Wonderful. I read it during my college days, bought it after reading it. And bought a kindle version too. Now this. I am so happy right now. 😂

To me this is one of the best mob movies hands down
Mario puzo this guy could give life to a story he is a legend a literary force to reckon with Rosie of the golden girls comedy kept him alive for me.
This is what I consider a great movie. A Must see!!👍👍
This has been one of the great movies I’ve seen in a long time. Good engaging story, good acting and entertaining to the last scene.
Mario Puzo is king storyteller in Mafia life style Hats Off much respect
Such incredible movie part 1 & 2, brilliant acting.
I think it’s real sad when a father teaches their own child how to be a murderer instead of teaching them how to be on the right side of the tracks
Hello,how are you doing?
Very well made movie - kept me engrossed to the end! Thank for the upload
I think. Mr.puzos has a gift for crime movies he's a genius.

Hi Andre, I have watched her on tv news when asked about Manchester terror bombing her answer was “it was rightful as they insulted our prophet’ without any remorse. But Andre culprit here is Starmer Whois now call himself a lawyer but destroying the basics of laws to suit himself. I see no way out we are doomed while 300/400 youngsters been put into prison also Tommy too for telling the truth. You are superb. ❤️🇬🇧❤️🙏
Fantastic. One of the best movies ever made.
"To them you'll always be a Santadio". Rosemaria killed his own son by sowing a seed of hatred in him
her*
Fear becomes hate...hate becomes fire that burns everyone around you....including yourself. It's a tragedy alright...mostly cause she was right in her opinion about them.
You are right
Yes she took it too far she planted that hate seed
The sad thing is that if Dante was more stable, he and Cross could have been the next generation of family leadership, because the under boss would have been a family member, which is ideal.
Watching again and it’s Aug 21 2024, as always love this movie, thanks for the upload.
Been looking for this movie!! Glad it's on here!!!
