First, let me say why I uploaded this. The reason is because I want people to see what they missed. This is Yoshiki and Sugizo together performing such moving music straight from the depths of Jrock history. I wanted to share this with you. You may be new to Jrock, or old to it like me, but regardless this is what music is all about!
[The videos I took at the 1st Mariner Arena when X JAPAN played after the Otakon 2010 Masquerade. I waited in line from 9 AM - 6 PM, got in first, and still was 2nd row center due to the Press.]

According to one of Sugizo's interviews Hide keeps on looking for him and invite him to outings and have happy times but no matter where he go, Hide was able to find him. It seems that Hide and Sugizo are in good terms personally and professionally. 👍✨ People with great talents are able to find each other. I supposed Hide foreshadows something about Sugizo.

yep i was right up front with you this made my day as i never thought i would finally get to see yoshiki i drove from charlotte early saturday morning just for saturday and left the next morning lol
had such a great time in TOKYO ... and even if this song sounds sad ... i miss tokyo and the kind people so much right now *tearinmyeyes* ... great song ... great performance ... and ... real great memories raising up my mind when i listen to it .. tnx for this emotional song!!! ... greetings from Austria/Vienna!

I was at that concert at Otakon nearly 5 years ago. To this date, it's still the only one I've ever been to.. and I'm thankful it was such an amazing show! Now it's just a very fond memory.. I'm so happy it's still on RUclips! ♥

I saw X Japan in Sept 2010 in Los Angeles. I must say they are one of the finest Rock bands ever, and put on a performance that could not be matched.

This was such a pleasant surprise! Given X Japan's visual kei background, I was expecting some of their rock songs. But this was absolutely lovely and magnificent to listen to! These guys are true musicians!

I'm not offended at all; I didn't like the way you phrased it because it sounded very condescending. I just meant to say he is one of the best musicians because of that fact, but under different terms than what you were thinking. Regardless, thank you for your input.

i loved the performance. I thought it was going to happen in the middle of the Masquerade. My boyfriend and I got in at 8pm and enjoyed the rest of the show. I was surprised that so many seats were open

Oh wow... X JAPAN in Hawaii would be amazing. I would probably fly there! That's so awesome that you're an old fan! I only heard of them in the US in 1999. It was too late by then of course. So now...it's like a dream come true for me.

Im new to J-Rock, and X-japan is the first band I knew from that genre. Now this is amazing. That light feeling that makes you float in the air. Aaaaaah. So lovely. It made me feel that they were never in a trash metal band. I am "X".

He is considered one of the best pianists in the world by more people than who don't. If you aren't impressed, then I suggest listening more closely. Is it JUST the music of the surface, or is it something more? Honestly, take your criticism to people who care; you won't find anyone here.

@picturesofutopia Hey man I think u might be of those jazz musicain that seek in the phrasis and note choicese. I'm sure skill and knowledge wise, he is nothing compare to a lot players. But just the key center playing with just 7 note he create such touching lines is turely magical and to me that's what music is really about. He is not musically or sientifically amazing but his music display a beautiful image, emotion, and story. Those things can't be never approached by practice or studying.
Considered one of best pianists in the world!???? BY WHO!? YOU? He's not bad, pretty good actually but nothing anyone cracks him up to be. Maybe his compositions don't show off his talent I'd like to hear him play other composer's works. But I'm never too impressed with anything I've ever heard him play.

That was hardly an outbreak rather just giving my opinion that disagrees with yours. Anyhow, I said below in another post that I do agree that his playing is moving and inspiring. However you phrased it simply as he is one of the best pianists in the world which is something I disagree with. I'm sure you meant it as that he's one of your favorites and in terms of his artistry but even if you didnt that is your opinion. Don't get so offended.

Yea, I agree that interpretation and artistry are completely different and can be so much more important than technical skill. My favorite pianists, musicians, and singers are definitely nobody who is considered technically best. That is for sure. Though I of course also wouldn't argue my favorites of these are amongst the best singers in the world. I totally agree with you though on someone's ability to portray beauty and their emotions is more important!!
what's the opening music?
When I heard that X-Japan was on stage performing at Otakon from one of my friends, I nearly cried. I had no idea they were going to be there and I didn't have the funds to make it to Ota this year so I missed out. It was heartbreaking cause Sugizo and Yoshiki are such respectable artist, getting the chance to see them in person...Missing out on that experience...it's just-

This time I'm posting for the right video (something went wrong for a while there). Thank you very much for posting this! I was bummed that no videotaping was allowed, so I had no way of hearing Endless Rain again. When Yoshiki announced that the song they were going to play was Endless Rain, I was so excited and silently sang while they played. This was THE highlighty of my Otakon Xperience. Thanks again. I"m looking forward to getting tickets for their East Coast concerts!
