I love your dancing. Oh my goodness! I don't know why but it brought tears to my eyes...was it about your famly and the scarf, the beauties of this video, or the little bit I feel connected to you through my Moms dna. I think a bit of everything. I sont think you know how important your videos sre to some people. Thank you Earth for you!
finally we get to see your new regalia, its beautiful, i cant to see you dancing for the virtual pow wow, once im done working on all my new gear im doing a updated pow wow edition as well, again your beadwork is breath taking, i love your jingle dress
i really like your headband, i personally wear my headband across my forehead for 2 reasons, 1 lol so sweat from dancing doesnt leak onto my face and in my eyes, 2 lol because it helps give more support to my back hair piece, i also just love your dress
My goodness young lady- this is quite the regalia! You should be proud of yourself. A lot of dedicated work went into that very special design. Congratulations. Thank you so much for sharing. Blessings.
Chelsey, your a very talented beader.....I wish I knew how to bead like you. I just learned how to make beaded fringe earrings back in February 2020 of this year. Am sure you saw you seen them on my Instagram. Love your regalia! Of course I would love to hear about your eagle feathers!!😊🖤❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎
Your regalia is beautiful. I love the colors and thank you for explaining each piece. You did a fantastic job. I came across your channel today and I did subscribe .I have been watching other channels about Indian dancing, etc. I am finding it quite interesting and informative. I am not sure but I think my great grandmother (Mother) is of the Lumbee Nation. Since I am becoming interested in Indian Culture, I wish she and my grandmother were still alive so I could ask questions and learn from them. Continue to do what you do and I will be watching.🥰🥰
So beautiful and as you said over and over it's not perfect but it's yours, well you put your heart and soul in every piece you know where all the so called imperfections are in the event anyone should take it for what ever reason, cause that happens, unfortunately, but you can take pride in the fact that each piece is designed and crafted by you. Today so many buy ready made regalia ,fashioned by someone they don't even know. The mother's and Grandmother's father's and Grandfather's created for families with love, labor and lots of prayers for protection and guidance to be upon the dancer,be proud and thank you for sharing.
My daughter has asked me about these, yes I'm a man that does know how to sew , I just checking out all the beautiful skirts to get ideas about making one for her. Thanks
It would be hard to sum up what I want to say ... Thank you for sharing all of this with the public. I stumbled on jingle dress videos and I love what I’m learning. Watching the dance I feel as experience it as truly you are dancing with all of your connected family and ancestors and activating the collective dna and memory and tying to the natural forces. It really is medicine. I don’t know if I’m understanding rightly but I have always appreciated dance and ancestry. I was part of a Hawaiian group and I felt that connection to the land and ancestors there too. Powerful and healing, and so beautiful how jingle dresses began from a vison, sort of recently in the big picture.
Wow! Great job making all of your own regalia pieces and you are so dedicated. I’ll showing other youth your videos as inspiration. My granddaughter just started dancing and I just started two years ago. We love it so much. Thank fir sharing so generously.
I love your beadwork, I started beading my regalia myself. I will make a video of my beadwork when it’s done, I am using tri cut beads and my traditional colours are rainbow as well. I am a fancy dancer. Thanks for sharing your beadwork with us, I love your beadwork, you’re very talented with your craft. I am going to be subscribing to your channel for more video content. 😊👍🏻
What a beautiful video! It feels like a treat to see all of this work you've done and then to see you dance so beautifully in it. Congratulations on finishing your new dance regalia!
Had no idea about the eagle feather repository! You learn something new every day (or I try to anyway). :) Wonderful crafting of your regalia, I'm intrigued by the preservation of your cultural heritage and arts. Really moved by the spiritual message and think that the idea of a 'virtual Pow Wow' was a wonderful idea (I wonder how that went?)... Anyway, very well done, I hope your family, friends and yourself have managed to stay safe and well. 👍 All the best from the UK.
Well done keeping up with the runaway drummer, heheheh. :) Every diversion from machine perfection adds a vital human element, I'm pretty sure those diversions are set in gazillion years of tradition, so that's an excuse you can use, not that you need one. You know your work is gorgeous, any inner voice saying otherwise can shut its yap and go jump in a lake. I haz an admire. :)
Omg❤️❤️ awesome job girl ❤️❤️ !! I’m starting my nieces’ regalia bead-work set ❤️ and watching your video helped me out, because this will be my first time starting a whole set 👍❤️
Looks dope!! Im starting my jingle dress (and southern cloth traditional) journey; i already got regalia for southern cloth, so i am now designing and building up my jingle dress regalia, takin a look at vids like yours for inspo! 🤗 Tlāhzocāmati
Truly Amazing. I love the sharing, the effort that you have contributed and the overall pride you have displayed in creating "Your" regalia. However, I just want to say that nose/Bull ring does you no justice and most of the time, I spent trying to figure out what it was. lol. Good video and thanks for this video
I’m reconnecting with my culture, I’m eastern cherokee on both sides of my family but my grandfather who grew up on the Rez died before I was born.. so I wasn’t taught anything I’m trying though for my ancestors 🥺🤍
I love this!! Making your own regalia is such hard work but so rewarding and feels awesome being like "yeaaaah, i made all dis". I made a "get ready with me" a few years ago but I'm working on adding new beadwork pieces so I'll have to do a regalia show off when I'm done. :D
I love your channel! Your regalia is beautiful! Im teaching myself how to sew and I just made my first child’s ribbon skirt using ur ribbon skirt tutorial video! I would love to know if you know how to make a woman’s southern traditional skirt and if so can you please make a tutorial!
Whats the minks for ? Is it suppose to mimic extentions and make your hair look longer? I absolutely love everything about your dress ! The fact that you hand made and beaded EVERYTHING but of course the minxs im sure im spelling it wrong lol 😆 your so beautiful and the colors are beautifully done! I looove the rainbow accent to it as well!!!
As someone trying to reconnect and learn beadwork and dances, would you everr be willing to talk about the pieces of regalia and their meaning? I think I've felt intimidated/"unworthy" of looking that deeply into things after growing up off the rez but I definitely want to learn more. I love seeing everything you've made. I'd be interested too to know if there's any precendence for using things like crow/raven feathers in regalia? I've seen some more alt/goth details on a few dancers but I never knew some people used hawk feathers, just eagle or sometimes turkey.
Can you own a jingle dress if you aren’t on the Rez? I’m a city native but I want to participate in this so bad! I would love to dance for my ancestors but alone if that’s okay?😂❤️
I’m a city native and so are my aunties, we all dance jingle, if there are pow wows in your area and you wish to learn to dance then by all means go dance❤️🤩 my one big piece of advice is learn of the healing power of the jingle dress and it’s teachings if your not aware and learn pow wow/ceremony protocol and also if your not familiar( whatever the case is) try to learn some of our women’s teachings about the dress in the circle
Do you remember how many beads or about how many hanks you used on your leggins? I only bought 4 hanks and im afraid it won't be enough at least I chose white as a background hopefully it won't be too much trouble to color match if I have to in the future😒
I am trying to bead me and my daughters jingle dress, I don’t know how to bead but after the truth came out about what happened to our people. To honour the 215+ children I am determined to continue our tradition, but I need help! We almost completely lost our culture over here and no one can teach me to bead😭 I need some tips and pointers
Regalia’s in general can usually be in the colours your gifted in ceremonies like your personal colours or clan colours and or what your traditional name is, people also use colours they like or that they feel they connect with, if you have a spirit animal or guide/teacher then you can use colours to represent that, I personally use either blue, black or red for my dresses plus I use the rainbow as I’m LGBT/ two spirit so I honour my identity with those colours, my advice is gather teachings of the indigenous perspective/ use of colours before making a regalia and beadwork

You are so exceptionally talented. Shout out to the neighbor trying to sneak in the video in the background 👀
Thank you for sharing. Sorry to hear about your family. The scarf part made me tear up for you. Be well 🤍
i really like your headband, i personally wear my headband across my forehead for 2 reasons, 1 lol so sweat from dancing doesnt leak onto my face and in my eyes, 2 lol because it helps give more support to my back hair piece, i also just love your dress

OMGsoh! i was not ready for the beaded eyebrows!
I LOVE the idea of putting sweetgrass IN your earrings!! I might have to take inspiration from you for my own❤
WOW WOW WOW you’re so incredibly talented and every time you say it’s not perfect I’m like 😱 Do you sell any of your work? I’m a new subscriber ❤️❤️❤️
STUNNING! You are insanely talented ❤

Hi I was just wondering what material you use for your cape. I am a traditional dance and have all was wanted a beaded cape for me
Hun hey I was gifted a eagle feather straight and plum this last pow wow how do I store them?
Does each tribe have certain colors on the regalia? Or do you just freehand? Just curious! 😂❤️
Hi I was just wondering what you made your cape out of the material
What type of beads do you suggest for regalias?
I am trying to bead me and my daughters jingle dress, I don’t know how to bead but after the truth came out about what happened to our people. To honour the 215+ children I am determined to continue our tradition, but I need help! We almost completely lost our culture over here and no one can teach me to bead😭 I need some tips and pointers
Just Talented. You should patent your beaded eyebrows.
omg your so beautiful
how did you make your belt?
Can jingle dresses be whatever color you want or do they have to be tribal colors?
Regalia’s in general can usually be in the colours your gifted in ceremonies like your personal colours or clan colours and or what your traditional name is, people also use colours they like or that they feel they connect with, if you have a spirit animal or guide/teacher then you can use colours to represent that, I personally use either blue, black or red for my dresses plus I use the rainbow as I’m LGBT/ two spirit so I honour my identity with those colours, my advice is gather teachings of the indigenous perspective/ use of colours before making a regalia and beadwork
