@@Alusnovalotus I don't think papaya stinks. To me it has hardly any odour at all, but maybe that's because the ones we get were picked rather green and shelf-ripened. Durian, now...it apparently stinks so bad that you can't take it on public transport. We were taught that taste is mostly smell, so how can something that reeks smell good, is my question.

They are a real thing, across Scandinavia and into parts of northern Germany. It's made with sweet rye bread and normally dried meat or dried fish bound with egg and milk. The crispness is from the bread which is crumbed than toasted. Basically it's a savoury treat to use up left over bread and off cuts. There are a few names but mostly 'Krispies' will get you some variant. Rose seems have used Hákarl, fermented shark meat, which isn't normal, but then this is Rose.
