Dude, you crushed this build! Watching you build your black Miata was great because of the track spec aspect, but the way you built this for your sister is awesome. A neck breaker that's fully functional. Also, the daily advice couldn't be any more true.
Yes to the cost breakdown, helps to give people a realistic understanding of what it really takes and a point of reference to budget for their own build. Even a estimate for skilled work I think is important as not everyone is going to tackle every modification themselves...
YES! Miata's & Civic's are the best project cars! Both are relatively cheap to buy, have huge aftermarket support & performance parts are relatively cheap. I was thinking about getting a Miata for these reasons & your videos have been very informative. Thank you!
I think doing a "Build Breakdown" after once a car is finished would be interesting and would help people with their builds if they are building the same car. Its also interesting to watch.
The caliper probably isn’t seized. There’s a nut covering an alan key thing, I think it’s a 5 or a 6, and you have to remove the screw to access it and loosen the alan key thing to be able to compress it.
You can mix two ideas into together like, 10 min build breakdown + whenever a new part added to the car you can show us the price of that part and at the end you can show the total cost. Love you
I don't usually comment on RUclips, but I've been watching you for a couple year and you never fail to deliver. Miata looks great! Killed it man, congrats.
Today’s life advice hit hard for me. Just a few days ago I cut off a 2 year relationship due to me feeling like there was just pure negativity and me being dragged down and controlled. Thank you Evan ✌🏽
Sick build man. It was a great build to watch seeing both you and your sis get excited and watching someone else learn alot. But a breakdown would be pretty neat to watch. I watch every video you make
dudeeee what omg i know bruh 😭 i been wanting him to build an s2000 for so long that’s my dream car and i’ve seen them wrecked but not totaled for like 8k but i’m in Louisiana so prices prolly different everywhere
what started watching the Miata series and already caught up, I love the car and to see how far your sister has gone from just starting to drive stick is amazing
Oh yeahh!! We would appreciate a full detailed video about the miata, including : cost breakdown, talking / reviewing everything you added to it. Love ya tho
I haven't been following the build and not sure if it's a 1.8, but 1.8 brake calipers have a short bolt on the back that when you remove allows you to access an Allen head bolt to run the piston back.
@@trulyboosted1264 no i understand that what im saying is you can lower your car but going that far that you cant make it out your drivway even tho it looks really flat is a little bad but if im going to be honest id rather a nice ride then a stanced look i went threw the whole stance thing didnt do and good for my back
I'd love a cost breakdown of both the fix and modding because it always helps understand what's expected should I try to do something similar! Keep up the great content man
I'd do a cost break down, as having one myself and gone a little bit mental with a load of custom work, wide body, etc and supercharger build, things get steep but a nice simple clean build like this could set a good bench mark!
Miata rear brakes have a hand break mechanism in the caliper. You cant press them back in, you need to remove the bolt on the rear and wind them back with an hex key.
just so you know i used to own a miata those calipers aren’t broken on the piston there’s an allen bolt inside another bolt and that’s what allows you to release it i had to learn that as well to get it to compress
Best advice ever. I've learned that it's easier to make a new social media account and just block the fake ass negative people as they try to add me. And just stay off the old social media pages that caused my depression.
You should do the cost break down but like where you put the price of it before then the cost of fixing it and then the cost of moding it, then add all it together and do a final price
hay Evan, i was reading somewhere that that dot on the tire is some sort of balancing indicator. they were saying you put that dot on the opposite side of the valve stem for easier balancing. something about it being the heaviest point of the wheel and it counter balances the weight of the stem / TPMS...
I’ve been looking at Miata’s for a minute and I have my own cost breakdown, for a simple and clean build. Yours came out great and I am interested to know your cost breakdown!
A little duck tail spoiler would look slick on it. And personally a low profile headlight makes Miata’s (and RX-7s) look so mean...but even if you leave it, the car turned out great!. I also would be curious if a cost breakdown. Great work! Cheers!
Evan, on the back of Miata calipers there is a bolt/Allen key that retracts the piston back into the caliper... a c-clamp and hydraulic press won’t work! Hopefully now that you know you will stop buying new ones every time you work on them!
8:20 I can definitely relate, I hit a deer last November in my ‘15 WRX and it’s been a process to rebuild ever since. Can for sure confirm doesn’t matter how you get there, just make it look good Edit: also that Miata needs a *clears throat* BIG WANG BOI
Dude, this video was amazing and I really needed that life message at the end I need to stop feeling bad for the negative people and just remove them from my life 🥰🤝
Please do the cost breakdown! I just bought my first car and it's a 92' Manual Miata. I love watching you build this with your sister, Inspires me to build mine as clean as yours!
Hey Evan I think someone’s said it already but there’s an Allen in the back of the caliper that you use to decompress the rear pistons. but uhhhhhh new caliper so ye LOL
The cost breakdown does not matter just be happy Evan pimped out his sisters car like all good brothers should do....Jerrin should be grateful what happened to her last ride? The sickest thing is zohr comes to your house like safelight repairs windshields anywhere good deal......Jerrin is going to grind out that stance car.... My mitsubishi lancer has problems with speed bumps feels like and hour having to get over the small bumps lol The little Miata is so happy look at the smiling car
Hey Evan I'm a bigger fan of your channel and builds but personally I would love to see your cars in action like on track ; simple "fun" driving and even car meets especially since your sister has a sick whip too 💪💪🙌🙌
I’m finna total this car again drifting in the snow today LOOOOOL
Lmao
All that miata needs is exhaust and ducktail spoiler and thats it.... Turbo as well but that can wait
Get VW gold mk3 vr6 and enjoy it. Trust me, Best old German car u can get, cheap parts and cool looking. Same as vw golf mk2
Literally every teenager when it snows 😂
Turbo the miata
I’d like a cost breakdown out of curiosity.
yes please
same
I would love for Evan to do that for the supra too, just out of curiosity
kbd itself is $900
Yes
I’d love to see a cost breakdown
Me too
Same here

idk why he didn’t include that on this video :/
As someone who is considering buying a Miata, I would love to see a cost breakdown.

that would match really well lol imagine
She's going to, they already talked about that.
yo this is the best comment ive seen today, i support the suggestion!
If you could, you could do a total cost after every build
"Signature wheels will be here"
10 inches of snow: Are you sure about that?

Ill watch a cost breakdown, hell i'll watch a built miata in 10 minutes, just gimmie content
I'd like to see a cost breakdown. I'm curious to see if building a miata is really as cheap as people say.
It's not cheap :P
It's as cheap as you want it to be. Just depends on how far you go on modding.
Those wheels are probably the cost of the car lol
@@marcels311 why just why
@@marcels311 he literally said how much he paid for it, it was like 3200

Coming here to say the same thing. After putting the press to it, it probably did need replacing, haha.
I'm so salty. I started my project car a few months before I found your channel. And now yours is done
Congratulations to your sister.
dang Evans skills are really starting to show especially with him having all the proper equipment and tools

gotta teach sister how to drive a lowered car, angles, speed bumps, driveways, hills, dips , all that fun stuff LOL
I'd like a cost breakdown of every car honestly
In one of the angles it almost looked like an s2000. Then that got me thinking, dang evan should really do a turbo s2000 build.
That’s what I was thinking but s2000s are hard to find or are where I live unless you wanna spend like 30,000$

theres a little hex bolt on the backs of the rear calipers you have to back out, to retract the piston.
