After several years on social media, and many podcast interviews, it was time to tell my story for everyone here on RUclips. I hope that you can take something away from it. Would love to hear your story below.
Great story and inspiring keep up the good work and videos..Thanks
Thank You! Have a blessed day
New sub here. I agree with you staying a 1 man show. I can depend on myself and not others.
Thanks for tuning in! Have a great day
Great story Mitchell! I too came from very humble beginnings. I had the Geo Tracker with the 5x8 trailer, Ryobi trimmer, edger and blower attachments. I also had a 33 inch snapper with a bagger. I did scale and was growing very well but became unhappy. I have just been maintaining the 15 to 20 residential a week with my Exmark Vantage and Exmark Lazer Z with a bagger. I am in NC as well.
Thanks for sharing!
Great success story man! Keep up the hard work!
Hi Mitchell
hello
Very cool, I’m in Newton, NC. And I’m getting ready to start up my own lawn care service at 26 years old and 2 years sober so ur story was helpful thanks
That is awesome! Best of luck to ya!
Nice to hear the story. Good to hear you are less stressed and working good with your full time career. Relying on others is hard. I kind of did the same scenario as you. I had upwards to 6 employees and so much going on and so stressed out. I scaled back and now have enough work for me full time only. With that being said there are days where I wish I had help and in the near future I might have to as I want to grow the business again but just to about 2 full time guys so I can get off the mowing route and just focus on the fertilizing end.
being less stressed is what it was all about. I wouldn't change it for anything. Happy for ya that you've got all you want. And if you venture into having a crew again I'm certain you'll be much wiser the next time around.
Great to hear the history. I myself am retired due to injuries sustained during my time in the Marines. I just am planning on getting back into this to supplement my income and get me moving again very soon, I also do not want to do it other than part time and my body will not allow me to do more than part time. I completely respect your honesty and commitment. Thank you. Earned Never Given is also a motto of the USMC
Thanks for tuning in David, and thanks for the sacrifices you made serving our country!
Hey bud great story . You are not the first one to get to and end up back solo. I do lawn care part time. I am a heavy equipment mechanic full time. And I love the lawn care and people like you . Thanks for what you do and guys like me. Good luck.
Thanks man. Not the first, not the last. Thanks for the support Dan.
One of my favorite people telling his life story!💪🏽💪🏽🔥🔥🔥
thanks for tuning in buddy! Can't wait to hear your story! And don't give up on RUclips! Crank out some videos buddy
@@mithgo_outdoor definitely haven't given up and I most certainly will! Thanks man!!!
Wow Mitchell your amazing brother. I’m 55 and my daughter is 10 she showed me this video and said look dad we only need a mower a weed eater and blower. Thanks for this. We might have a chance. Blessings to you and your family. Watching from Florida 🤙👍🌞😎
That is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing this with me. I'm so glad that it's had a positive influence. You most certainly have a chance, many chances! Thanks for your support here on the channel Steven.
Interesting TY
Thanks for tuning in!
Great life story!! You have been blessed, and obviously have put in a tremendous amount of effort and hard work!!
thanks for tuning in Scott. Blessed for sure.
Good hearing your story. I'm also a state trooper and was going to start a part time lawn care business but then kids came and my free time vanished. Would still love to do it but dont want to take time away from the wife and kids. Maybe in retirement. Stay safe out there!
your family is most important, you made the right choice! You stay safe as well...times are wild right now
As a full time LEO having some of those same struggles and big decisions to make, this video was great! Thanks, Mitchell!
Thanks for tuning in Blake, if ya ever need to chat feel free to shoot me an email.
@@mithgo_outdoor, thanks will do!
I’m there with you brother. I’m in the end of my LEO career. This is my goal for retirement. Looking forward to working for me.
Great life story! I also mow part time. I mow 30 lawns a week. How many lawns do you mow a week?
Thanks for tuning in. I serviced approximately 14 acres weekly.
Mitchell, I was very impressed with your story of how you got to where you are today. Your work ethic is definitely aligned with mine. There’s a valuable lesson many people can learn from what you said about ‘Being happy with what you have and no longer being focused on making your business bigger and more stressful’. I’m genuinely happy for you!!
When you work your tail off, make sacrifices most people would never consider and treat all people with respect, that’s a great example of Success. It’s like my pastor said Sunday 2 weeks ago referring to a huge population in our degraded society, “Stop Whining and Start Working” God Bless you, Mitchell🙏🏼
Thanks for your words of encouragement and for tuning in to the channel. Have a blessed day

Great story and video. That is what I’m working on now. working a full time job and working part time on the business. Plan on leaving the full time job and get a part time job and the business the other half.
Sounds like a plan! Hope you are able to execute it! Thank you for tuning in man and the support
Thank you Mitchell! This helped me so much, I don’t have a lot of mentors in this business and you have become one for me!!
You are so welcome! The green industry community is something special. Don't hesitate to reach out and network with others.
I’m just getting started out myself with a lawn care business, this is inspiring! And want to peruse a career in law enforcement as well!
Awesome man, best of luck to ya!
Thanks for sharing your story, your work ethic is inspiring.
Appreciate the kind words of support Paul!
Hey are you ready for the interview I would love to come to high point to bring you on my channel
Sorry I missed this comment. You do interviews? Like on a podcast?
Fantastic videos! You must be the only guy putting videos out with dual tweels on a zk72. Do you ever feel dual standard tires would be slightly smoother to run or are you entirely happy with the tweels. Your opinion is far more valuable than the salesman’s thoughts. Thanks
when I first bought my ZK72 it had air duals on it. To answer your question, yes it was a smoother ride. The dual Tweels were a much stiffer ride, but the traction that they added was insane on slopes. The dual Tweels gave me much more confidence on slopes and soft/wet turf than the air duals did. They have a larger contact area with the ground than air tires. Thanks for tuning in Stirv.
@@mithgo_outdoor thank you!
Love hearing your story and other business owners. Your success is inspiration to others like myself. I sometimes wonder if sharing my own small story would be helpful to anyone
Hey bud. Of course it would. I always tell myself that if what I do only helps 1 person then I've done my job. You too are an inspiration. And for more people than you probably realize.
I often wonder the whole story, thanks for sharing.Good luck in the future 👊👊👊
Really appreciate your support! Good luck to you as well.
You seem like a real humble fella. Great story man.
I appreciate that
Enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing

Great story and provided a lot of insight!
Thanks for tuning in Steve, glad it could help some! Hope you have a great day!
It is awesome to see where you started and where you are now! Hard work to paid off man!
Thank You Mark
No body needs a #monstershop however, if you work for a living you should have some things you like andnwant. My shop is 40 x 60 x 12. Didnt need a shop that big at the time but quickly filled it up.
Amen to that brother!!
How many yards did you have when you were full time?
Roughly 80+ accounts
What happened to the Chevy ?
any vehicles up to this point were sold for various reasons.
I’m a sole proprietor, part time small business owner. People are people are why I choose to stay that way. Nice video. Stay Safe! #BackTheBlue
thanks for sharing Daniel. People are truly difficult to manage sometimes. Thanks for your support!
Good inspiration video, love it Mitch
Thanks man!
Great story Homie. Kept on gridin right to the top. Growth in a business is great but, if you're spending $.70 to make a buck it's sometimes better to stay smaller yet more profitable. So much of our story is similar. Remember either we mowin grass or drivin fast, Dirty Jersey out!!
Stay Golden Ponyboy!! #broinlawns!!
You're correct man, no sense doing more to only break even and have more stress !
Nice
Thanks
Good story!!
Thanks for tuning in!
Try having 2 management employees thst are key guys quit right a beginning of season. Having trouble finding employees blah blah blah. Backing down my schedule to whst 1 guy can maintain 3.5 days a week then perform weed control 2 days a week. #hardworkdoespayoff
hate to hear that happened to ya man. Hope ya get it all ironed out.
Drinking game: take a shot every time Mitchell says Okay!!! Sorry Bud, I couldn't resist!! Love Ya Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!
Still watching video, more comments to come. #broinlawns!

Great video brother 😎👊

Thanks Aaron!
Do you ever find your career and your business ever clash ? Good video.
Currently, never. But there were MANY times while I was running the company full-time that they clashed. In 2018 I was considering resigning from my career to focus solely on Mitchell's Lawn Care LLC. I'm glad I didn't. Thanks for tuning in!
Very honest and informative. I'm in Florida and I've started similar to your start. I absolutely like the way you came across no BS the uo and downs what works and what didn't. I never really write on these outlets but I was very impressed by your message. Great job honestly.
Since day one on social media I've tried my best remain true to who I am. I'm a no BS type of guy, always will be. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, I really enjoyed this video! We started our company in September of 2020. I was fortunate enough that we were able to purchase all of our equipment cash. This included two large Gravely zero turns commercial mowers along with a 36" Scag walk behind, new trailer, and all other required equipment. I also have a full time career in the oil and gas industry. My seven days on and seven off schedule allow time for my wife and I to work the business also. Our business picked up really fast and I find myself working most of my time off from my main job. We have already come to the point of not taking on anymore customers. Just trying to keep a good work life balance. God bless
Wonderful story! Thank you for sharing! Best of luck to you the remainder of the season.
@@mithgo_outdoor Good luck to you as well. You're inspire me! Thanks again.
Love it good video man keep it up
Thanks, will do!
Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome!
thanks buddy.
I've seen a couple videos before you talking about where you are at in the state of nc and I think it's interesting to hear the story of a business were they came from.People with the values of that if you work hard you can have anything you want everybody should have because earning something is more beneficial to a person outlook on what they have, appreciate the video I was raised in the same 336 code I watch lawn care videos I think there interesting and with some people you can tell someone to do something and they wouldn't get it through RUclips your able to teach people how to do what you do very informative video keep up good work
