With the new VEGAPULS 64 several factors contribute to making the measurement through windows or plastic containers easier. In particular, a special processing of reflected signals at close range reduces the impact of interfering signals directly in front of the antenna system.
What is the maximum thickness of glass that VEGAPULS 31 can measure through?
Thanks for your question. We recommend a glass thickness of no more than 30-40 mm.
@@VEGA_Level_Pressure Thank you for your response, Please will the VEGAPULS 31, work perfectly if the pressure in the tank is 10bar, since the instrument is sensing through glass.

How about through a site glass on a vessel with a steam blanket? Can you measure the fluid level as well?
Steam is not a problem for a radar signal, however it depends on the condensation at the side glass.
Maybe a false echo learning would be necessary, for more information please contact us directly: www.vega.com/en/company/vega-worldwide
How about through pvc pipe?Is there some test for this scenario?
Hello, It is even easier to penetrate plastic materials like PP, PVC or other materials.
You can place the sensor outside of tubes or tanks without having to care about the chemical resistance.
is this possible using vegapuls 11
Hello, thanks for your question. The VEGAPULS 11 is particularly suitable for use in water treatment, storage tanks with acids, lyes and additives in all industrial areas, or for measuring levels in plastic tanks from the outside through the tank wall. Measurement through glass is certainly feasible for simple applications.
