Streakys master sounds so much thicker, punchier and smoother. Definitely worth the price if you are releasing something important. Would be great to see Ozone AI master vs Streaky (or any other pro mastering engineer)
I haven’t checked out LANDR for a few years. Last time I sent them a track what I got back was horrible. It applied tons of compression totally removing the depth from backing keys when I wanted a spacious vintage sound. Obviously, their software has likely changed since that time. Then again, I also had a trial of Izotope Neutron work on another track and again wasn’t satisfied with the results. This stuff seems to be pretty Heavy Handed. I’m going to try Ozone with a reference track next to see how that works out.
Last two vids I watched I liked the landr master better than the pro master. Here though, the pro master is substantially better, and I don’t even think that’s opinion, it really is objectively better. He worked some absolute magic on the midrange.
Love LANDR. Would use all options, and enjoy listening to all of them to make my final decision. Lot’s of options, but not too many…which is a help. Hadn’t seen the new revision options…cool addition.
They both sounded great to my ears, would I pay 5 times the price for the real human? Would I pay 10 times the price for a Gibson guitar v a Sigma... answer is always the same, for me at least, if I had the money yes, if not I'd definitely be happy with the cheaper version... just to add, I've used Landr before and results were great! Good vid as always Ed!
Love the enthusiasm, and the effort to "null test" the two masters. But, you can't null test two masters like that. Obviously, loudness is different. But what some fail to understand is that the equalization - or multiband processing cross-overs - can create phase shifts. Phase shifts, generally speaking, aren't typically perceptible. However, in the context of a "null test", they are immediately revealed. To demonstrate why I believe your null test isn't a useful comparison, imagine: - Master 1 boosts 3 dB @ 1kHz (Q=1), using an IIR filter. - Master 2 boosts 3 dB @ 1kHz (Q=1), using an FIR (linear-phase) filter. These two filters affecting the same band, the same amount, with the same Q will more or less sound identical. However, if you understand the difference between FIR and IIR filters, you'll automatically expect notworthy differences between them in the "phase" domain. Consequently, you'll get 'red herrings' (false positives) when checking their nulls. Given the above, a null test isn't a useful metric comparing masters using different equalization technologies. If you're attempting to 'glean' any useful info, metering, spectral analysis and simple A/B testing are a few things that are reliable. Not null testing.
I used it to master my debut instrumental electronic album and I’m very pleased with the results. And after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing with the decision on which settings were the best, I used the Low-High settings. Much to my suprise and to my ears Landr was the winner 🏆 Streaky was over compressed. Landr had more clarity while letting all the instruments to clearly be heard. I believe if you would have done a blind test more would have chose Landr. Years ago I tried Landr but didn't like it, with the improvements I might change my mind.

Thanks for the awesome video Ed!
Thanks for the opportunity to explore the platform! It’s going to be invaluable to a lot of people!

Thanks so much for the vid!

Great clear review
Streaky with the phenomenal snare sound 🙏 much more dynamic and exciting sounding.
Landr wasn’t bad. So it was between not bad and great.

No competition here. The human master is much better.

I think there’s a use for both platforms. Both are a learning opportunity for sure. Glad you liked the video, and thanks for the support as always!!
@@EdThorne Definitely agree with that Ed. Cheers!

You raise some valid points. Phase shifting probably being the biggest difference (besides level).

Most people would never know the difference.
I do!
agreed
Sorry but they both have harsh sounding cymbals to me.
What are you listening on?
Well done....!!!!

Great job, too bad none of the coupons work.
Really? Are you putting them in at the checkout stage? They should work!! Let me know and I’ll look into it asap.
@@EdThorne Yup, I tried again and none of them works :(
@@gbgnicke I’m sorry about this. I’ll chase it with LANDR. Did the Streaky one work?
@@EdThorne The streaky one didn't work either :(
@@gbgnicke Ok, thank you for the feedback. I will look into this asap.
Streaky's is wayyy better.....
AI sucks 😅
