A piece of bread gets that cap bearing out no problem. I put a video of the bread crumb trick on my channel if you ever run into that problem with an Arrma motor bearing again. I learned it online, thought it was genius, so I tried it and it's amazing.
Little trick to remove the endcap bearing use bread put pieces by pieces in the and push with the rotor with a few minutes the bearing will start to pull up and eventually completly come out hope i made your day;)
@@EXTREMERC416 You were saying to put just standard bread that you would get from a loaf of bread into the bearing hole and keep pushing down? I guess I don’t really get it
I recently did this same procedure to my arrma granite 3s and my kraton 4s. It did the trick for both of my rigs. Wish I would have seen this video before and not after.
I used a cigar torch to heat up that bearing and it came out. I used a pick to pull on the bearing once it was very hot. No need to put a hole through that cap 👍. Some people use the bread crumb method.
Just wondering how did the sealed bearings hold up? I have the same job to do and I heard not to use those because the heat can melt them. Good video thanks
great vid, just wondering: I own an ARRMA Typhon 3s. I disassembled te engine but there's not a washer setup as shown in the video. It's a bearing (in end cap), bus and a curved washer. May be a newer or older version. My question: Do you happen to know if the curved washer should be between the bearing and the bush or between the bush and rotor. Answer is much appreciated.
JC RC sorry it doesn’t. Engine looks largely same as yours (endcap, with a bearing in it) but then there are not 4 washers but just one curved one and a bush. Wonder if the bush should hit the bearing directly or the washer...? So: endcap-bearing-bush-washer-rotor or: endcap-bearing-washer-bush-rotor...
How has this held up? I have been told not to use sealed bearings for my Spektrum 3200kv. With this 1 being lower kv, I wondered if that had anything to do with using sealed bearings. Great information.

Hello, yes it could be bad for it. I don't think you want excess movement in rotor. You can't buy these from horizon hobby. I e mailed them and they don't even have a diagram of the motor. So ,I would take the motor to a local hobby store and see if they have any small washers on hand .
@@jcrc9051 Thank you. I'm going to put in some of the wavy washers. I've searched more and they say the internal diameter is 5mm. I'll give it a try. ^^
My bottom bearing was completely blown out and I have no way of getting that one out. Completely destroyed the inner race and now the outer race is stuck
@@413RC Hopefully not. Someone from a german facebook group removed the bottom red cap. It's screwed itself with the black motor shell with a very strong threadlocker. So, if you can manage to rotate the red cap to unscrew it, there is a better chance to get to the outer race. You have to heat up the shell and the cap to liquefy the threadlocker.
Whats a good MOTOR CLEANER FOR THE 4S HOT MOTOR KRATON I USE DW40 SPRAY FOR MY SHOCKS AND WHEELS CAN I USE IT TO CLEAN MY ENGINE SO THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN AND IT'S A BRUSHLESS BLX MOTOR LIKE I SAID BEFORE
JC RC my Granite is wining really bad my latest video shows everything if you have any suggestions. I think I need to replace motor bearings like you did. Thanks man.
I would not use wd 40 It will attract dust and debris Just electronics cleaner ,it doesn't leave any residue. A degreaser may be ok if you rinse it off though.
Have you figured out yet that using rubber "sealed" bearings inside the motor don't work out so well? They'll heat up and disenigrate quicker than metal or ceramic

Easy like cake
This works every time lol
Just tumbled on your reply on removing the end cap bearing. Are you able to make a video demonstrating how do you get it out? Thank you
@@treysals just shove bread down the hole and press it with the motor shaft. Keep adding

Yeah super weird end bearing is covered what a pain . I almost think they treat these as disposable . Bash on thx 4 watchin!
Can I use the bearings in this video on my 3s arrma?
Nice video 👍...I used bread and a shaft off a old motor ... pushed it out 👍
Heck yeah! Everyone is going to have to do this at some point. Thanks for sharing
May I ask what you mean by using bread and a shaft? I am having this same isssue - need to pull out the bearing somehow.

First goes the springy washers and then the brass washers
Little suggestion. Use a nut driver to push bearings in. Your bearings will thank you

Right on bro fixed it!!

I'd say put the bearing against the moving end part. And curved washer against non moving side. Hope that makes sense

I think this is the 4s motor so the 3might not have them because its not long like the 4s ones

Will this stop wheels from spinning? I have Typhon 3s and suddenly wheels are locked. I checked diff etc. I think it’s motor bearings.
Hi JC RC! How are the bearings holding up? I was thinking of getting the same ones
These have been fine. No issues. 👍
What are the heads of the cap screws? Removable with allen or torque screw-drivers?
Great job on the video. 👍👍
Hey bro thanks! Bash on 👍
Idea for how to get the cap bearing out: find a bolt extractor that fits tightly and put it in a vice and tap it out
I like your vid nice job
Thanks man 😎

should always use metal shielded bearings in a motor. They get hot and will melt the rubber sealed ones.
Do you have a video of how it sounded before?

Same here. No idea how to remove the outer race of the destroyed bearing.

Use electronic cleaner spray.
If you use WD40 it will attract dirt, and make things worse.

Hi... Will these fit on Arrma granite 4x4 motor ? :)
How to remove the bottom bearing ? I tried so many times, unsuccessful.
I take a small screw driver and stick in the small hole and pry it.
Thanks...
Welcome brother🙏
Rubber sealed bearing can melt in the motor. Better to use a metal seal. Jims Bearings is one vendor. jimsbearings.com/collections/motor-bearings

If it's that new, they should just give you a new motor. Contact horizon hobby they might want a photo of receipt.
Good luck
