Pro tip, you can go through security in T2 and walk to T1.. very handy if it's pissing rain outside. It's also less crowded in T2 security.

My husband used to drive the Dublin to Letterkenny and back route. He'd do the night trip up and back to Dublin. The buses they use for Letterkenny are old, one went on fire recently, so you can't expect them to be premuim.

Expressway being a ‘premium’ brand of Bus Éireann is pure marketing. They are the same coaches, only difference is that Expressway services are non-PSO. They are purely commercial routes without any subsidies or control from the NTA.

Never expected to see Monaghan on your channel when I went onto RUclips today! The reason why you stopped at the filling station for 10 minutes before the bus station was because the bus station in Monaghan no longer has a shop available for those arriving (so I believe). Great video Scott, was exciting seeing the sights I'm used to, feature on your channel.

One thousand bugs died making this video!
It is lovely to see somebody filming something that might seem mundane. I recently discovered in the attic an old cine film and discovered it had been taken by my parents on their honeymoon when somebody lent them a movie camera and it included some shots of Dublin airport in 1963. It looks like the airport has changed a bit!

I loved when as a child in the 60's my parents brought us to the then little Dublin airport to collect someone. Standing on the outdoor balcony hearing the roar of the planes taking off.. you were right close to them and could see everything.. it was very exciting for kids to see planes as we would hardly know anyone who'd flown anywhere . Everyone we knew got the mailboat from Dun Laoghaire.. living near there we would watch the boat train rattle slowly right into the boat terminal when down by the harbor.. you could buy the fish there directly from the fishing boats just in back then.. and be given a bag of fish scraps for the cat!

Thank you for the beautiful video. I so enjoyed Letterkenny to Dublin. I have been away from Ireland for many, many years and I was shocked to see that beautiful double decker bus on that trip. Until you got to the Motorway, it must have been pretty scary sitting up top. I was also quite surprised to see so many passengers. Happy travels ☘️

yeah, wasn't the driver cleaning the windscreen just a few moments ago? Probably was just cleaning his own, not the window on the second deck... Or it was that fertiliser :p

    Hello Scott,
I thank you for your video. It reminded me of 1990 when I cycled from Larne via Omagh to Belmullet and back. It never occurred to me that I may have been able to take coaches. What can I say? It was an adventure well worth remembering, if just for the "beautiful coleen" that I admired in Enniscrone. Wow, she was a beauty. But, time and tide stands for no-one and I had a ferry to catch. (I know, "What a fool"!)
The scenery in your video was lovely and I enjoyed the views of your adventure too. Be well!

Greetings from Dublin, Scott - welcome (back) to Dublin and eh, see you again? Hope so. Being a Dub, naturally I have (residual) brand loyalty for both Aer Lingus and Bus Éireann, so I reckon whereas they might (indeed do) appear stolid and boring to folks who have experienced better/plusher etc., what I say is - "They'll both get you there and back, in relative comfort, safely". That's enough for me. Great channel - happy travels, Bro (sometimes the journey becomes/is an integral part of the trip - I LOVE flying in particular). Dave.

Decades ago I used get a return bus from Dublin to Ballina in Mayo.. it would stop in Longford for a 10 minutes for toilet and tea break!
One occasion returning to Dublin... The bus moved position and I got on the wrong bus. I only realised when all the returned passengers around me had changed and asked one of them.. the bus had come from some other place than Ballina but fortunately it was also going to Dublin.. and the driver radio'd my original bus to take out my baggage for me from the hold when he got to the Dublin terminal...

'Live and Let Die' remains my favourite - in particular that bit where Roger Moore commandeers the double-decker, resulting in the bus v bridge scene. WHAT IF - in the next GOOD Bond flick, 007 commandeers such a fertiliser spreader? Not quite as cool as the Aston Martin DB5 after Q has added his bits but still, some potential here in terms of getting rid of the pursuing goons? Just a thought.

The public transport in Donegal is an absolute joke and a third rate service. Constant cancellations and delays, broken down busses, sometimes unclean interiors. With no rail service or decent motorway/dual carriageway to Dublin, the only option is the bus. It is an afterthought service given by Bus Eireann who couldn't care less for the traveling public in Donegal.
