It makes sense why not but at the same time I think it would be good for people to see as this looks to be a fantastic model for taking care of orphans. That being said, I'm sure Destin has his reasons.
I have been supporting Not Forgotten for six years now. It has been rewarding to see the progress. It is definitely the best spent money of my Patreon bill.
Is there anyone on the internet more involved in more things than Destin? Big family, full time job, his own RUclips channel, collaborates with EVERYONE, set up ThinkerCon, has his privacy service startup, involved with this awesome charity, spends time with the Coast Guard and Navy, and still found time to help Shane (from Stuff Made Here) move across the state - which, with all the equipment that guy has, is no small thing. Anytime I don't want to get off the couch, from now on, I'm going to tell myself to "be a Destin today."
Fliegergrüße von der schwäbischen Alb :) die Arbeit mit Waisenkindern ist echt herausfordernd, aber auch voll belohnend (war selbst auf einem Kurzeinsatz in Indien)
Not Forgotton .. Oh wow !! 🙏❣🌟 That is the most amazing video and an absolute worthy cause to donate to if one is able. It was beautiful to see the children smiling and laughing ... That Is Priceless ❣💫 Thank you for Sharing and caring to promote informed awareness for The Children ❤
Thank you for publishing this today. There is so much negativity in the world right now, hearing about a group of people who are genuine forces for good really lifts my spirit.
I love it Destin. Have they considered something like the scouting program, where the kids have an opportunity to learn and get a taste of a wide variety of skills on their own terms, some required some optional?
The original Scouts were formed by an ex-soldier who wanted to teach young boys the kind of discipline and survival techniques he learned in service because he believed it would help them be better people and better citizens. The original program was just in Britain and was only boys in their teens (possibly before the term teenager existed) but it become so popular that other groups formed including some with girls. Eventually larger overarching organizations were formed and Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts were separated for obvious reasons (which seems to have been forgotten by the current leadership though it doesn't help that the Girl Scouts didn't hold the same corporate merits, for lack of a better term, as the Boy Scouts). Unfortunately the Boy Scout and Girl Scout programs of today don't really live up to the original purpose, I'm sure there are some exceptions, but by and large (at least in the US) the scout programs are effectively dead. Perhaps they could better in Peru, it's a very different culture there.
Been to Peru twice with Missionary Ventures. One of the leaders in Lima was told by God “ If he would minister to the children and teenagers. God would transform the nation.” It is good to see God is working.
Destin, I'm a BP Agent and routinely give through the Combined Federal Campaign(CFC). I just checked and Not Forgotten is not a charity listed with them. Can you attempt to make that happen? Maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't Patreon keep a percentage of funds donated through their platform? I'd rather give through the CFC if possible.
I deeply admire how your family and Not Forgotten cares and partners making this change and serving these families and children. You understand how to work hard and have fun and be in it for the long haul. Seeing the change is awesome. Even if it's just golden toilet reminders of the journey xD
I have been supporting for a while now. You video happened to come up after our trip to Peru where we hiked during the day and stayed at lodges owned and trained Peruvian’s to keep the tourist trade sustainable. I wonder how they are doing now after all the lock downs. Something for me to research.
This is very inspiring. The only reason I knew of Iquitos was because beautiful True Red Tail Boas come from Iquitos and Pucalpa. Now I know a little more, and of how to help :)
Formula1 racing cars this year is having a problem called "porpoising" which is aerodynamics of the cars making them bounce on the straits. As the season is about to start I think this phenomenon would make an interesting video!
the fact its mainly boys being abandoned is deeply concerning. makes you worry they found a use for the poor little girls. Its obviously fantastic that people are helping the boys but you'd be very concerned for the girls too.
If you're ready for next level support, you consider a co-work video with Mr. Beast. Sure he's in another space of content, but you two could make something big for a thing like this. That's for sure 😊!
Went to the project awesome site to vote (per the video description) and didn't see your link yet... Not sure if Hank (or whoever) just hasn't updated yet or not, but thought you should know
This program brings this quote to my mind. "Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities." The Family: A Proclamation to the World.
Can anyone say if these donations would be tax-deductible and if so, does the not forgotten project provide any information to patrons yearly on donations outside of what Patreon does?
His clock. He has explained it before. It is pretty easy to read, actually. Uses military time. At 10:01 in the video, the clock reads 1122, and that would be in the morning. PM would have shown 2 lights on top, 3 lights in the second batch of 9, and the bottom two would be the same, for 2322 hours military time. The lights moving around is just for interest. (I hope I got that right.)
This was a wonderful feel good piece at first. Then I started thinking "why are there no girls" oh...oh no...there are probably just as many abandon girls as boys at first. But girls must be trafficked. My heart hurts. I hope these boys can break the cycle.
I have my own expenses in a economically sketchy time - as much as it sucks, i dont have the means to even consider going to patreon.... Heres an idea...maybe instead of asking everyday-joes to give the money they dont have Advocate for those who have more than enough to 'Make a Change' and 'Help' (like politicians, and especially, million/billionaires)
Because the wealthy and politicians give with strings attached. Also, eggs in one basket is not sustainable. Everyday Joes giving sacrificially tend to not desire to manage what happens and it is more sustainable to have a 1000 people give $1 then to have 1 give $1000. Just some thoughts that popped in my head. I could be wrong.
You mention a mission trip. This organization is tied to religion. It doesn't disqualify it from being worthy of attention and support, obviously, but I'm wary of Christian orgs that may discriminate against LGBTQIA kids or who use outreach as an opportunity to proselytize. Can anyone with first hand knowledge of this org assuage my fears?
Your work is amazing Destin. No matter what the subject matter may be. You're an amazing person and I'd love the opportunity to sit down and chat with you! If only for a few minutes. I hope this reaches you. Keep up the awesome work! Nathan Foster, 72653
Wish this would have been on the main channel. The reach there is so much greater and could make a big difference.
Great work as always.
I agree!
It makes sense why not but at the same time I think it would be good for people to see as this looks to be a fantastic model for taking care of orphans. That being said, I'm sure Destin has his reasons.
Agreed
Perhaps he will post it there too..
Think I should post it there?

IIRC he is also currently a student.
You most certainly can imitate him by becoming a "thinker and doer"...like the shirt says ;-)
I love hearing from this project. I myself will go to South America this year to volunteer for a year (I am from Germany).

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Dustin.
Destin, I have been following for a while, and you always find new ways to amaze and inspire me. God is doing an amazing work in and through you.

What a amazing team/ people that go out to help others
Wow. Breaking the cycle of abandonment is absolutely key. Getting them into families is the only way to make a real change.
Love this!!!

Perfect Scripture at the end, as always. 😊

This is great! The Not Forgotten family model sounds very similar to Fr. Flanagan's Boys Town in Omaha, NE.
Wonderful
Thank you for caring!

Call this channel smarter every night
Of all the ways technology is meant improve lives, nothing beats human love and compassion.
Technology is just a tool and like all tools it can be used for good or evil. Destin does a great job of using technology as a tool for good.
Every person needs a Family to be safe and loved. Then they can thrive
PFA has helped so many... not just financial, but eyeballs.

Good thing that septic tank was...

Great project!
Children deserve to grow up with a family :)

Your wife is a legend.

Plot twist : evry Project he ever does was started by his wife sayin "we doin this now"
should be on the main channel. important cause
My goofy a$$ really thought it was about the Forgotten Weapons channel 😭
Can anyone say if these donations would be tax-deductible and if so, does the not forgotten project provide any information to patrons yearly on donations outside of what Patreon does?
@Smartereveryday, Hello Destin, is there a way to send a one time donation instead of a reoccurring one?
Any headway on why so many children are abandoned here?
Hey what is the silver rectangle lighted object hanging to the right of the map.

@@lynnstillwell2 thanks, I thought it was a click but I have never been able to correctly get a time out of it.
Would like to get smarter everyday everyday!
Have you read Eight Hundred Leagues on the Amazon
By Jules Verne?

I can't support this financially, but I can show some engagement for the algorithm
Destin is Kinder every day.

No way to reach Iquitos by land?? Just via air and water??
Wow.
C'mon, Peru. Use that sweet mining money.
HELLO 👋
My only question is, what about the girls, or does that not happen?

Smartereveryday more like cryeveryday

Lol well this was uninteresting.
Is the new restroom all gender inclusive? Lol. Male and female.
