as an 🇦🇷🇬🇧 i always got bothered about the falkland conflict, but i've never been or heard much about the islands. now ive seen some vlogs and i can say they are truly awsome!! this is definitely the best one so far.. hope you had nice visit! greetings from Patagonia
Nice that you went to the Falklands so that from my native Argentina they begin to realize that the Falklands are British. Your support is doubtless appreciated at the Falklands.
Beautiful! About ten years ago we visited our son who lived in Stanley for a while. We visited Carcass Island and Sea Lion Island which were both wonderful. I'm glad to see the wildlife is still thriving. Most people only know of the wintry scenes of a few months of conflict there in 1982 but the scenery and wildlife, especially in summer, are amazing. Also- the people are very welcoming and the inter island flights on those little planes are certainly a memorable experience. Well done for showing a fabulous destination.
Thanks so much for watching! My visit was just incredible. I was blown away by the scenery, the welcoming nature of the people liked you mentioned and of course the wildlife.
Thank you for that lovely visit to the Falklands! I enjoyed seeing what Carcass IS and Pebble Islands were like as I wasnt able to visit them in March 2024 when I was there.
Just watching your smile was a tonic , the penguins etc were a plus. Being from Northwestern England originally ( now Canadian) I also liked the hint of the north in your accent!!
Hey Amazing Traveller !👸 This vlog is the best vlog to watch as I never seen such beautiful Island 👑🤩🤩 The Penguins are so cute and you have the most lovely clips captured.. The Sunny day makes everything more special like a beautiful day. I also enjoy watching it a second time.
Wow, absolutely beautiful video, the penguins weren't fazed at all when you were so near, hope you share more videos from the Falklands, happy new year to you and your family.
Brilliant! I have recently been to see "Faulkland Sounds" at the Swan Theatre, Stratford Upon Avon. I am hoping to visit the islands one day. If you get the chance, go and see the play. Its brilliant. Thanks for this footage!
Subbed, wonderful scenery 👌 great camera work, thankyou 😊, especially for yourself in the shots of wildlife for scale. Alot of RUclipsrs overlook that, happy trails 👣, greetings from Somerset 🇬🇧
What an epic vlog and destination! Not yet on our agenda, Happy New Year! I hope 2023 brings so much adventure and growth to your channel and ours. Cheers from Turtle and Bear, a father and son team of anthropologists world travelers and your fellow RUclipsrs.
Hi, Alex I'm watching you since 2012 on Travel XP keep going and make vlog on what to be done while traveling abroad like budget hotel's transportation etc
Ohhh this is better than that movie Happy Feet! How cute are those buggers! The way they hop! Sensational video Alex. The Falklands isn't widely known as a tourist destination ( or even known at all) and among the many vloggers I follow , I think this channel is the first to go there! Welcome back btw ..and Happy New Year!
I want to visit Falkland, is there any recommended flight from Beijing, China to Falkland, UK?and how can I book a lodgement and the jet to islands(want to see peguins)?
What the Portugiese did in Azores in terms of plants is amazing. I'm not sure why there has not been any effort to plant more trees. Do the windy conditions have anything to do with that?
Thank you so much Alex ! I have often wondered what the Falklands was really like and this gave me a really good insight. Is this going to be a TV programme later on ? Hope so !
Thank you for your content, we love your shots. We feel really carried away thanks to you. Is it only possible to get to the islands by plane from the UK or is there a ship from Argentina?
What an amazing video. I would very much like to visit the Falklands. From where do you fly in to Stanley? Are there tours to take visitors to see the penguins? I am seriously considering travelling here in 2024. Any info would be a huge help. Cheers!!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I flew from Brize Norton near Oxford to Stanley. Plenty of tour companies available but also many of the local lodges on the islands offer day trips.
Wow Alex, you really get to some far flung places. Didn't expect this! It's brilliant. Have you ever been to the Faroe Islands? From rare doccies I've watched, it seems to be pretty spectacular.
The stone corrals, located in many areas, were built by the first Argentine gauchos inhabitants of the islands. The purpose was to keep wild cattle confined. The first constructions date back to 1829, when Luis Vernet served as 1st Argentine governor of the islands. In 1833, British pirates invaded the islands.
@@AlexOuthwaite it's on the list definitely after this video. Not to mention flying from Brize Norton has a cool ring to it. Thank you for the great content!
The Falkland Islands has a very similar history as Tasmania. The British eradicated the indigenous population at gunpoint. By doing so, they hoped to control all the trade between the South Atlantic and the Pacific.
I don't know if I am surprused or creeped out seeing no humans around you except when you are in a plane or a car. I don't know how you managed all these shots without a living soul around you. Oh and for me the highlight of the video was the drone shot of the penguin colony.
