His voice! At his age, he sings like a angel. We are blessed to have this on You-Tube. This Albuquerque girl hopes he meets me on the other side. I could listen to him forever. Rest in peace Mr. Glaser.
I moved to Albuquerque in 1989, made it my home, met my wife at midnight rodeo , she taught me how to two-step, We had 2 great kids and lots of memories, Moved in 2005. Best years of my life
When I was younger my grandpa my mom and I would be driving back to Albuquerque from Grants and it never failed but this song would be playing. We would be arriving back when it was dark and the lights of Albuquerque would be shining bright. Such a wonderful memory.
I lived in Albuquerque in 1984 with my 16 month old son , after my husband died in a motorcycle accident. We lived there for eight years and I finally finished my bachelor’s degree - it took me 20 years to get it. I loved Albuquerque; the people, the cultures, the marvelous food and the astoundingly beautiful scenery. I heard Jim Glaser’s song on the radio and instantly fell under its spell. This was before YT, so it took years before I heard it again. Bless YT for existing to let us enjoy his wonderful song.
Marty Stuart has always been so cordial and accommodating with his guests over the years on his show. This episode was one of my favorites. Kudos for Marty having Jim Glaser on his show.
I didn't either until I was flying into Albuquerque for the Balloon Fest. The lady sitting next to me on the plane told me about an old country song about Albuquerque as we were landing. It wasn't until I got back home that I remembered to "Google" it. WOW. I have listened to his song when he was much younger singing at the Grand Ole Opry. He OWNS this beautiful song! I love how Marty and the drummer smile and shake their heads in respect for him and his gift. Rest easy Jim Glaser, you still are touching people's hearts. Amen.
At 82 his voice was still so strong ..There is a version of Woman on opry reunion that just blew everyone away.Huge talent gone..Rest peacefully and thank you for the music.
Very special Singer/Songwriter. Tremendous loss when he passed. I was happy to see Marty give him his Just Due when he performed this on Marty's Show not all that long ago.
What a wonderful voice. Admire his singing especially with his brothers and the three part harmony. Why they are not in the country music hall of fame is a mystery.
This song is hauntingly beautiful. It reminds me of gorgeous moonlit nights out on the Ladder Ranch in Sierra County, NM. The moonlight across the canyon and upon the mountains.
I’m from Manitoba Canada. I passed through Albuquerque many times on trips to and from Mesa Arizona. I always loved passing through Albuquerque with the mountains behind it. I miss those trips.
I just heard of Jim’s passing today and I’m so saddened, Jim was one of the finest voices in country music and I can’t thank Marty in the superlative’s enough for having him appear on their show,
Thanks again Marty. So many great country artists preserved for today's audiences. No pitch correction, no computers, just great artists Marty brings back live again and again. What a cool thing.
As the years went by, Jim’s Wonderful Voice just got better and Better. There will never be another Trio as Great and Talented as the Jim, Chuck and Tompall. RIP You Wonderful Glaser Brothers. You are truly missed.
I can’t find the online article again which stated that songs about Albuquerque are over 100 since 1706. The one I loved the most is The Lights of Albuquerque by Jim Glaser even though it almost makes me cry because the music sounds so melancholy. Last year another Albuquerque song popped up by Shawn Brooks, a Texan who changed his name again. But I like it. I moved here 7 years ago and I love those mountains, sunsets and hot air balloons. And the view at night of Albuquerque from a mountain top does resemble a brilliant diamond.
Agree! He OWNS this beautiful song. The older we get, hopefully we learn from our mistakes. You can see it in his eyes and the crescendo of his voice, that this is a very special song. Beautiful.
My family is a family of travelers from local, national, and global destination for pleasure, work, and military commitments; this song is always the warm motherly embrace as we return to the 505.
My Goodness Jim... I hope you knew how much you were LOVED. The talent and sound was just amazing. Thought we would have you forever. But we still have your sound in these videos. I come here and listen several times a week. Its as if you are still here. I loved you and your brothers but without YOU... it was not the same. Miss you tremendously, forever.
When you think of the long career he had from the late 50’s with all the records made and personal appearances, yet his voice was still as great as it ever was.
So happy to find these here. This man had such a beautiful voice . Decades of memories listening to him and his brothers. Jims voice was so awesome R.I.P Sir
Always love Marty's show for showcasing legendary performers. But Jim was way beyond legendary. Easily one of the greatest voices in country music history. I thought he had the best voice of the brothers.
I was lucky enough 2 see him perform in Albuquerque at The Caravan East. That was the 1st time I heard that song & fell in love with it right away. I had 2 buy the cassette right then. I went 2 play it a while back & wanted 2 transfer it 2 a CD 2 play in the car & the tape broke. I tried finding it around town without success. I still want it 4 my car. RIP JIM💞🎶🎼

I'll be right beside you.
So will I.. ❤

I found a crazy brown girl in Albuquerque... she's the love of my life.
@@8622rtec you both are lucky to have found each other.
my family (parents + me) in 1992 were driving from Phoenix back to Albuquerque after moving away for 2 years.. this song was playing..

The obvious pride, respect that was reflected on their faces. That they knew this was a special gift been given them.
Jim Glazer is fantastic
One of the purest voices and one of country music's finest songwriters. There'll never be another Jim Glaser.
One of the MOST underrated voices ever! Along with Rex Allen, Jr
This song by Jim Glazer is hauntingly beautiful. I keep coming back. It is mesmerizing.
It grows on you
It looks like this was on Marty Stuart's show in 2014.. which means he was 76 when he did this performance.. what a VOICE!
Great song for a great city
Its chills down my back, just coming over ninr mile hill, this plays and shoot, turned it up blaring.
One if his last performances
First time that I heard this song, I knew I had to learn it on my guitar!
Great song!
This song is inspiring me to pick up the guitar again. Haven't played in nearly 15 years.
Thank you for introducing me to this many years ago, Frank. I’m going my best to keep your memory and Jim’s alive.
This song is hauntingly beautiful. It reminds me of gorgeous moonlit nights out on the Ladder Ranch in Sierra County, NM. The moonlight across the canyon and upon the mountains.
I was backstage working as an intern when he played. He was such a class act. His was my favorite performance during my time there.

The GREAT Jim Glaser indeed. Amazing! Handsome Harry is just soaking that in. Great performance.
And that voice , born of the New Mexico desert !
That amazing voice has changed very little in 30 years! Jimmy
R.I.P Jim Glaser. You will always be remembered. A beautiful tune I do love :) ~ Stephan ~
What a great talent.
He and his brothers most underrated country artists ever. Would like to think they are making beautiful harmony somewhere together again.
I still hear the voice from when the Glaser Brothers accompanied Marty Robbins. The same intensity and expression.
My family is a family of travelers from local, national, and global destination for pleasure, work, and military commitments; this song is always the warm motherly embrace as we return to the 505.
❤❤❤❤
