I guess that's the same situation in a lot of countries. I guess the reason is that when you're abroad, your passport is the only documents that can identify you. Therefore, if you destroyed it, the immigration officers couldn't deport you just because they believe you're from a certain country. They need evidence. But I believe that they officer in the video said that the African man had to report to the immigration office every week, or he would've been detained until he had gotten on hold of his new passport and been removed from the country, if he had been apprehended again.
I had a lecturer in Oxford from China. He could barely speak English and nobody understood him. One of his recent papers has more than 10000 downloads.
English was not the main problem his university was. Get an admission offer for Imperial College, Oxford university then no one can reject you. Secondly, he was going at age of 19. Most of the people go for Master's and PhD. UK only calls people for interview if they have doubts.
Academics are a special case. If they come from overseas, they are often offered positions purely on the strength of their unique research skills. Poor English skill is usually irrelevant because they do not teach.

@Just a mental fellow India bro, nothing like your own country!
His mistake was not to pay tuition fees in advance. His mistake was that he forgot to learn enough English beforehand.
In the websites of Consular Offices, it is stated clearly that the issuance of Visa doesn't fully assure you of entrance to the country. At your port of entry, the immigration officers or border officer has every right to check your documents. The immigration rules are the same in every country. Proper documentation is needed. Immigration officers are trained to do their job. They base their judgment on the documents presented to them and the answers to their questions during interview.
Unfortunately, the rules are _NOT_ the same in every country. TheWest has been forced to be super lax about this issue.
Real meaning of crocodile tears, the Nigerian 😭😂😱

39:23 moment of the parallel universe. An India is interviewing a white person in the Uk for reason of entry... lol
I feel bad for her. Has a similar thing happen to me. British Indian guy, just didn't like me. I was legit there for a week to see my friend for her birthday. He held me for an hour and after i demanded he hurry up and refuse entry already, he said " I'll let you in this time. But next time you wont be so lucky' ... then i blew up "what the hell does that even mean? i have every right to come to this county for tourism? i'm staying a week, legally i can stay for up to 6 months!? what are you even threatening me with? how could anyone be more prepared for that?"
Honestly I've never met someone so obviously out of touch with reality and on a power trip.
@@Croma2333 .. "out of touch with reality and on a power trip ..". that basically describes the whole history of England towards to rest of the world ...
Karl Benz true story!
@VK yes
Well, British should have thought twice before invading and looting India. lol.
To be fair, I took philosophy/ critical thinking in college and to this day I can't explain what the hell it's about. It was all so damn confusing but I passed the class. Lol So I kinda get this guy not being able to explain his course. I just started watching so I'm not sure if he turns out to be lying or not but I guess I'll find out soon. Edit: Oh yeah, this guy is full of it.
im doing a minor in philosophy and i know exactly how you feel lol! this guy would probably short circuit trying to understand the readings full of outdated and overly dense information i know i did 😂
@@fezzes428 the problem with that is he couldn’t speak English at all he was clearly stuttering when he was saying how long the course is
"rational" people can do that. Question is how many rational people are left in the world lmao
On one question, the student confused 'course' for 'cost' [16:10], and on the next he confused 'course' for 'cause' [16:43], but overall his fluency is average for someone in his situation. The officer's accent is not the easiest to understand for non-natives, and he's neither seeing the confusion affecting the interaction nor is he able to vary or accentuate his pronunciation to make it a bit more apprehensible to non-natives.
Well you’re clearly not keen on philosophy and I assume it was just a course you took on the side for study credit. It wasn’t your major which you studied for years. But this fella claimed to have been studying business for three years and he still couldn’t explain what the course was about.
He was talking about “structure of the course” and he thought its “structure of the fee”. Hmmmm.
I used to teach a legit college in the US. Some students were scared shitless of failing out, or if they had to drop a course they were doing badly in, they would be below the minimum 12 credits required. Had lots of groveling students.
So what did you do with them?
Wow some these immigrant's feel so entitled. The attitude they show is unreal.
And people still think we should let them in?
There's a reason the UK looks like africa these days
@@mwbgaming28 yet UK is the reason Africa and half Asia look the way they do.

Usually they don’t refund your application.
I could swear that visa officer said “ tell me about the cost”
Harry Harry the officer has poor language skills bcz even I didn’t understand what he was saying. English is my first language!
@Harry Harry a person can improve his language skills very rapidly, especially at 19 years old. After 3-4 months in the UK he would have been speaking correctly
@@Federico84 He would also be 3-4 months behind on his university course so it wouldn't be a wise idea for them to let him study, instead of someone who wouldn't have that issue.
Hence proved, crying is the best weapon in both men and women.
Seriously? The obvious body language of a liar is beyond telling. The rapid eye movement trying to figure out an appropriate answer is too funny! I couldn't do this job. I'd die laughing at them!!🤣
You should have say sorry for telling a lie so that the officer would show mercy on you and be granted visa
As soon as they start saying “ to be honest” , automatically you KNOW they aren’t.
Exactly what the Britishers did for 200 years ! Colonizers are getting colonized now ! Hindu PM was just a small slap , just wait next 10 years !!
As a technician, I always carry my screwdrivers etc with me. I don't use other people's screwdrivers because I like my tools. Lawn maintanence folk don't use the customer's lawn mower even though a lot of people have a lawn mower and fucken hell it would be easier than dragging your own around. People who haven't worked a trade wouldn't understand the connection people make with their equipment because its literally what they use to support themselves.
That poor aussie lady :(
I agree. I don't think the knives were a big deal all by themselves. But when she's carting along 20+ copies of her CV along with her... that makes for a different story. I can't imagine any time I'd travel internationally and have a stack of CVs ready to go.
Lesson learnt, always print cvs AFTER illegally entering the UK

Ahhh.....So THAT'S the guy that keeps calling me to upgrade my DirecTV.
What I learned from this show. Every immigration officer at heathrow
There was something fishy about that indian. He wanted to work in UK after entering UK. Had his parents rich enough, that would have been reflected in his English speaking skills.
There are a lot of people in India who are rich. That doesn't necessarily mean they are fluent in English. That said he would surely need a good IELTS score for his studies in England.
That’s why people should be more honest with themselves when they choose to migrate to a another country. English language takes time to master. Speaking English and understanding English comprehension is a very important skill.
Biji Kurdistan If you’re rich then there’s no reason why one would even consider working abroad illegally. You’ll apply for immigration process properly and not lie about your intentions.
Why does speaking English reflect the level of richness?
@@hitbystyle666 In this comment you are indirectly agreeing with me. There is a difference between "not being fluent in English speaking skills" and being downright "dehati(an Indian villager !)".
And oscar goes to our Nigerian friend...😂Well played. 35:49
I graduated 2 years ago in public relations. It's not helping me in my country cos there are no jobs. Sometimes you can forget. I'll go through my notes in case I'll get a chance to travel abroad
So u didnt get any job? Wht degree is worth getting then ? Any advice for 18 yr olds not sure about courses careers etc how did u decide.?
Seems like good decisions but the lady from Sidney was probably genuine and even if she wasn't she would have realised she made a mistake pretty quickly and gone back to Australia. There is no way UK is better than Australia in terms of working opportunities
and the worst part is an Indian denies her entry to the U.K. Just Imagine how he himself entered the U.K?
