The Notorious Lift Radix is the latest barefoot shoe on the scene designed for recreational lifting and powerifting.
After reviewing models like the 1HUND Aerolux Barefoot, which is a shoe in a similar performance vertical, I was excited to put the Radix to the test and compare them to other barefoot shoes built for powerlifters/lifters. These almost remind me of a brainchild between the Apex Power and Aerolux.
In my Notorious Lift Radix first impressions video, I'll cover some first thoughts on this shoe, sizing tips, and compare them to the Aerolux.

8:04 Final Thoughts
Honestly, for $100, the Notorious Lift Radix has been a pretty strong shoe for my first workouts and days wearing them.
Is it going to be the best barefoot shoe for training and dressing up? Not necessarily, but they can hold their own pretty dang well for what it's worth. Plus, their super minimalist feel will be a hit for some.
My full review will come out in the next few weeks, but if you have questions in the meantime, drop a comment below or reach out via Instagram!

Dude im not even that into gym shoes and stuff i just keep watching because i love your vibe
Ayyy, that means the world. Appreciate you saying that and rocking with the channel 🤝
@@thatfitfriend absolutely my man 🙏
Im definitely interested in this one. I hope there are more stocks coming in Japan soon
We're going to need update to your best barefoot shoes list with all these new drops, Jake!
I know! I have a round-up coming, then a lifting focused vid in the next month rolling out! Need more sessions in these new models first
Wicked 🤘🏼
Mo’ options!
Once again another great review 👍💪🏼👍 how do you compare this to your Tolos which one is your number 1 for all around 😊?
And for lifting exclusively?
Powerlifting
Following. I have the Tolos 2.0 and mostly love them but find the grip lacking at times, which is crucial for heavy weight lifting, particularly on an incline bench.
In the gym, if you're a powerlifter or rec lifter who is needing grip as the MAIN factor for your performance, then the Radix deliver.
They bite a smidge more than the Tolos for bench and on turf, imo!
Tolos are awesome for tugs/leg days and for casual wear. Rocked the Radix out this weekend and they looked good with jeans, too!
and thank you!
Bought the Tolos Archetype 2.0 a couple months ago on your rec and it has been mostly great. I love the flexibility, lightness, and snug fit, but the one problem I have is when on an incline bench my feet slip and I slide down the bench. So, i either have to brace my feet against the bench or risk arching my back and sliding a bit with each rep. I even have a rubberized mat underneath the bench but the Tolos fail every time.
I need something with the flexibility I love for calf raises but won't have me sliding with heavy weight on inclines. Are these the answer or is something else perhaps more ideal?
Thanks! Your videos are phenomenal.
These or the AVANCUS APEX Power would be my two suggestions in this context!
Thank you for checking out the content/sharing feedback 🤝
I use Hoka Mach 5s for my running shoes, but I'm looking into another pair of shoes to take with me for compound exercises that ideally cover all bases (squat/deadlift/bench) and saw the Radix's. Would you recommend them as good all-rounders?
Yeah, they're solid if you want a grippy barefoot shoe for the big 3!
How would this two compare to something like the New Tolos or Avancus for lifting?considering that the price between this models are all pretty similar
All great - but here's how I view each.
Tolos - if you need something that you can dress up AND train in
Notorious - if you want a lifting-optimized shoe but like to cross-train, too, and wear for some casual use
AVANCUS - pure lifting focused individuals/powerlifters, not the best for casual use/cross-training, imo
Are these decent looking mate? I am size 12uk and I am trying to find some barefoots that I can wear out and about that don’t look like clowny shoes. Do you think these will be a good option? Any other recommendations?
I think so! I wore them out to the bar the other night with the lads and I didn't feel out of place. These or Tolos would be my suggestions
I saw someone in the gym with these and they looked cool in all white. Would you suggest these over the primus lite 3? They look possible more durable, and they have more grip. Also... if you wear a 10 in primus all weathers and they fit perfectly with little room left infront of the toes..... what size would be best in the radix?
I'd go 10.5 in these to play it safe - Worth a try, imo!
They're solid for lifting and the outsole has help up pretty well even though I've played pickleball a bunch in them
Can you use this for pickle ball or padel tennis? Or do you need more shock absortion?
Ehhh, I prefer more shock, but you technicallllllly could
My Motus aren't even in and still thinking about buying another pair of shoes based on this review.
Time and place for both if you’re looking into both, imo!
How's your 2 month motus review?
@@crismeisters I like them. They’re structured well, and can handle most CrossFit/Functional stuff if you like barefoot shoes for that.
I do not believe they’re worth the price tag on them though.
How does this shoe compare to reebok power lite mid for deadlift and squat? (Although I recognize the reebok is hard to find)
These have a lower stack height and more articulation. Will get you closer to the ground!
@thatfitfriend I'm guessing you'd recommend these ove the reeboks. Are there any you recommend over the radix? Or is that the shoe to use currently?
우와~ 맨발에 가까운 트레이닝화이네요. 리뷰 감사합니다.
네, 좋은 신발이에요
아니에요!
What shoes would u recommend for hooping 🏀
They'll be fine with grip and if you don't mind their low to the ground feeling, then you should be set in em!
comparison of the radix and avancus v2?
Coming soon! Both are great, honestly. For lifting, either or will be plenty fine, I wouldn't opverthink it
Radix = a bit more versatile
AVANCUS = awesome for powerlifting-focused folks
Would you say this shoe is good for more narrow or neutral feet ?
Yeah, should be okay, imo!
@thatfitfriend I normally wear a women's 37. I have pretty narrow feet. I have the SSG1s and the fit/toe box has gotten really uncomfortable over time. With the Radix's wide toe box, would you recommend that I stay with 37 or go up to 38?
How does the width compare to the Prio?
These run a little wider at the toe box!
Can u do a video on bahé revive shoes
I can add them to my list :)
1hund aerolux in white or these for summer casual?
Ooo, I'm going 1HUND solely for their breathability
@@thatfitfriendMan those one hund look ugly af. These would look good with some shorts and a t. They look white af
But this are barefoot shoes Tools or better the notourious lift gen 2?
@@Timobromm I’d go with this!
sizing compare to avancus?
Short, size up a .5 size
The tongue-slide can feel great.
wicked...
No you!
avancus apex vs this shoe
Ohhhhh....good Q.
I haven't gotten the 2s yet, but if you asked me this or 1.5, I'd prob go Radix because it's more casual
I absolutely hate it when the tongue slides around.
Pet peeve of mine, too
