I have a strong suspicion that we will get povs from all the characters we've gotten povs from before, so Gideon (I will cry if we don't get Gideon pov lmao), Harrow, and Alecto. Possibly also John??? I think that would be interesting, but seeing as he's technically the antagonist, I'm not sure

(saying technically the antagonist because nothing is black and white in these novels 😄)

It would be interesting to see a couple of chapters in Gideon and/or John POVs. Muir is great at being creative in narrative structures, so I think it's possible for these POVs.

I feel like the cover is going to be full of saltwater or greenery, due to number seven calling Nona "green thing, salt water thing". And I believe because of the epilogue of Nona, that the poem will be a sonnet of some kind because it's very Shakespearean and how it's written.

I didn’t think about the poem being a sonnet. That makes more sense. 👍🏾

I HAD NO IDEA THAT THE VERSES WERE A CODE!!!
My stupid ass was trying to make connections between the verses and the content

Ahhhh this made me so excited for Alecto. I think you’re right about the dual POV/timeline, I think the harrow POVs will start with whatever Harrow was doing in “hell” during the events of NtN but will eventually converge with the present. Selfishly I AM hoping for a Gideon pov as well 😂 I think you’re also right about the Shakespeare references/vibes. As for characters and their relationships, I think the idea of “perfect lyctorhood” will be explored - the possibility for two people to become lyctors without one of them dying. I don’t know if that’s what Gideon/Harrow will end up doing, cuz it seems a little too convenient for that to just Work lol, but I think maybe there will be an attempt that will get fucked up in some way. Also torn on whether or not this will have a tragic ending - again, selfishly I’m hoping not - but I could definitely be on board with something bittersweet. I also think it would be SO good if Alecto and Pyhrra have some kind of interaction that triggers Alecto’s memories of being Nona, that would be sooooo heartbreaking. I’m excited to see what “hell” is - I think we’re going to explore the River a lot too. I know it’s going to be insane. I can’t wait

Happy to hear your excitement for Alecto. As far as the ending, I too am selfishly hoping for no tragic ending. 🤞🏾

Oh I loved your video!! It was so fun hearing you talk about your theories. I am SO excited for Alecto the Ninth I am starving for any news lol. I loved your point about the dramatis personae because I had not stopped to think about it and honestly I think the idea of the RBs being there is so cool. It would be amazing if we got to see more of them (or even just the seventh) as characters. I also think we will be getting dual timelines, but in my case i think harrow's pov will be the present and in alecto's pov we'll be seing her perspective on the events that happened 10k years ago and her relationship with the lyctors, specifiaclly with Anastasia! She has only been mentioned a few times but honestly I am very curious about her and I think it is very likely that we'll learn more about her from Alecto. As for the references I'd like to say that since Alecto apparently starts with "Harrow in Hell" I'm really thinking it is most likely a reference to "the harrowing of hell", which refers to the period between jesus' crucifixion and his resurection. I honestly love thinking about this even though I have no idea what would tamsyn even do with this. Also as for the hamlet references, idk if you know this, but Wake's name (specifically Awake Remembrance of These Valiant Dead) is a reference to Hamlet! And there was also another one in Nona's paperback short story (Dulcie directly quotes it to Palamedes, which I also think is really interesting). also also as a little fun fact I think the biggest literary refence in Gideon the Ninth was propably to Don Quixote, specifially in the relationship Gideon had with "Dulcinea", as her name comes from Don Quixote's love interest! Sorry for the rather long comment, can you tell I'm super excited for this book? LOL

2:30 see my idea is alecto (barbie herself) wealding her weapon in the river, or something involving the river/ tower in the background... and all the skeletons (cause obvs thats a must) are depicted as the souls that are trapped in the river itself?... a red themed cover anyway (or gold given alectos eyes but that isnt the prominent colour of the cover in my mind)

    • @CityGirlWriter

That would be a really cool cover. Great theory!

If she is starting the book with Harrow in Hell and Tamsyn Muir has stated that there is a scene in Alecto that she is afraid will get her excommunicated from the Catholic Church, then there must be a Harrowing of Hell scene. Thus the choice of name. I say Harrow brings everyone back somehow. One last act of necromancy to reset a somewhat normal world without John as a god.

IMO Nona is what alecto would have been if it wasnt for john essentially
