If India has to become a military superpower of any consequence, it has to expand its vision and start thinking beyond its immediate neighbourhood. Indian Navy would play a very crucial role in this.

Aircraft carrier is a white elephant.
We have a unsinkable 100 aircraft carriers in the 100 andamaan islands.
Just put brahmos and nuclear missiles and anti ship missiles there .
Militarise the islands with military bases .
It's a cheaper option than expensive ships but just as effective and unsinkable

@Metallus Zorax The thing is we have to buy foreign weapons to match the technology differential and on the same hand we are investing a huge in developing Indigenous defence technology as well. If you follow development in India technology in defence you will come to know there are green shoots which are now visible in form of various startups in defence arena and various joint ventures between Indian and foreign companies. We are investing in technology transfer projects as well and these initiatives will show results in coming 6-8 years.

@Metallus Zorax Tejas is not Junk. Tejas is an LCA and Among LCAs of world it is one of the best. Arjun I agree is not better compared to peers and Arihant is our first attempt to nuclear powered submarine and is good. Very few countries can boast of developing nuclear powered submarine. But these are all made by state owned companies. You have not noticed products coming out of our Private defence companies. I think either yoy dont follow latest updates or you are an India hater.

In the present situation against China, there is a small lake and wherever waters are present and require to be guarded the Indian Navy is called for, high quality speed boat with trained soldiers and equipment is necessary, not only in Sea but Naval Commandos also play a good role when deployed at China Border.
I think the quantity of boats patrolling the small lakes across the border areas must increase.Regards
