Like the Lone Ranger, he rides into town, cracks the case and makes mincemeat of the competition and then rides off into the sunset..... call him.... Drift A Life.
Really helpful video since a lot of resllers show their haul but not it selling interestingly enough nor mention sell through rate of the items they get. Can't wait to see your adventures in Asia!
So, I've watched a dozen or so of your videos, I made a list of the brands you say are good. I have over 70 on the list and was considering buying the menswear manifesto. Then I went to my four local thrifts with the list I made and found 3 articles of clothing with those names. For a lot of people in more rural areas these brands just aren't around. Even Lululemon is nearly impossible to find in men's. I'm in middle Tennessee and most of the brands at the Thrifts are everyday department store fodder. Arrow, etc. There's just no way for me to source these brands in my area. I can pick up J. Crew, Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, but almost anything else is rare.
I am also in Tennessee about 2 hours west of Memphis. I have a small book of brands I put together off his videos. It was very educational but... I go to Corinth MS. Goodwill and Jackson, TN Goodwill, also some thrift stores in my area. Everything is at least a 40-minute drive. You are so right; this area just does not have many name brands. I find the same brands you mention. l find a lot of Brooks Brothers 1818 and 326 that do not do very well now. The Ralph Lauren's do not sell for much on Ebay anymore. The only thing that makes me some money is I joined Goodwill of Middle, TN Blue Rewards and sometimes they send me a 20% off coupon when you buy $50.00 or more. On Wednesday in Jackson, it is 20% off for senior citizens, which I am one. On those occasions I get 20% on senior citizen discount and the 20% off coupon for 40% off everything. I stock up then, get there first thing and go straight to the larger men's sizes. I have found a couple Pendletons, few Lucky Brand, several Peter Millars. I am retired on very fixed income thank God I don't have to do this as my only income, it is just to help me get by. If you live in California, New York, other large places where people dress for work, I imagine it is easier to find the brands he talks about. I have learned so much from him. I just have to work with what is here and get it really cheap to make 3 or 5 times what I pay. I also have found that the Goodwill's have gotten wise to resellers and every brand worth anything is marked much higher. They tell you they help people, right, the only thing they do is hire some people for jobs, everything is almost 100% profit for that corporation. They will even tell you if you look into it that they are a For Profit Organization. Profit from everyone else's free stuff that is donated. I don't feel the least bit bad about buying their items and reselling them to make ends meet.
I tried to find that same Patagonia jacket size small for my daughter and couldn’t find a used one without flaws or corporate embroidery for less than 150 on any platform.
Lol.....recently at a estate sale found a bunch of 5.11 got excited wound up keeping most, 6 inch zip boot, 8 inch zip boot 2 dollars each in great condition but mysize 13. Four shirts 2 dollars each. No wonder I can't make money on ebay.
Yup.. 5.11 & KUHL are my personal Achilles heel brands.. But as we all know, the beautiful thing is, they can always be pulled from personal inventory and listed to sell.
How have you been? I hope you are doing well and healthy. I started watching you years ago it seems with my mother. We both were actually in San Diego as well. I am surprised i never ran in to at thrift stores. Curious are you still doing the reselling or have you moved on to bigger and better things?
The power of great inventory at a sell it now price. I think a lot of resellers are too greedy, hold out for top dollar which can take a year or more to get. Meanwhile, an aggressive seller can move the same items quickly (at a lower price) and keep the money flowing. It's a combination of finding great stuff and pricing it to move. I find Terrapeak prices can be misleading. It will show you what is possible, but to move stuff, you need to price it lower.
As always, an amazing video! I'm considering leaving the country for a while. What did you do with your inventory/store while in Mexico? I havent figured out what would work. Do you have help minding your store? Wow another trip, take care!
Doesn’t thrift for a while, finally thrifts and finds a great Pendleton. Must be nice to be gods favorite lol
Thought the SAME exact thing 😂
TRUTH!!!
We all saw that lighting to prove it 😮😅😂

Props to you for flipping the Pendleton jacket!?I would have left it with all the moth holes.
I miss these selling videos. I'll continue watching to see what you do next. Safe travels.

Matt, fyi, in his video today, Justin Resells shouted you out to his viewers as being an excellent channel for learning about reselling clothing.

Amazing brand score! Have a wonderful trip and stay safe. ✈️🎁🎉✍️📖📚🎒🌟🛍👑💰
Finding jackets like that is super difficult seems like there people who basically live at good thrifts just on the chance they find
Damn, just finding great brands on one thrift outing!.?

Matt liquidated his store looong ago.
do you list swim trunks as shorts? if I try to list as swim trunks ebay wont let me sell as pre-owned because it considers them as underwear
eBay literally has a specific category for it. Clothing, Shoes & Accessories > Men > Men’s Clothing > Swimwear
Never once had a problem.
I do in Australia, if I list as swimwear it mandates it must be new...maybe different laws different country@@helpfulcommenter
@@Lupi33z must be
Great video Matt
I thought you were Too Apree at first glance
Carry on some extra " stuff " 😉
There is absolutely no way in hell you haven’t been told you look like Justin Chatwin from Shameless at least once a day for the last year.
Funny, I always think Aaron Rodgers.
👍👍👍
✌🏻👍🏼😁
