What even does this mean just more Christian platitudes this means absolutely nothing when you're in chronic pain no practical application when I look at Jesus I see his compassion I wish people would quote compassion when they're talking about chronic pain and give examples where have they have been compassionate to people with chronic pain that's one of the things that come out of illness you get to see where the kindness of God comes from that is very rarely practically mentioned in comments people often mentioned bible verses but not real life situations I think this is really sad
This video seems practical it's just a lot of the comments that don't seem to be especially by his stripes we are healed without practical application it means absolutely nothing what really hit me when I was a child when my mum became ill was the meals provided for my family the lifts the practical support when it was provided it was great when it was lacking and bible verses was said that's when Christianity makes no sense we need practicality

Christians glorify suffering because Christ suffered on the cross.
And because of many other bible verses.
1 Peter 4:1
Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin.
Psalm 119:71
It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees.
Romans 5:3
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
Excuses for the Problem of Evil point to a "greater good" or "morally sufficient reason" for allowing suffering.
By that logic, we should inflict suffering (since it makes people better).
This is amazing. Thank God for faithful men like these who stick to the text and have a BIG view of God.

Jesus healed EVERYONE who came to Him, not one did He turn away and say "just a little bit longer, you'll learn humility" Let's not reduce scripture to our understanding. The same spirit that was in Jesus in healing the sick lives inside every believer. Job was the question and Jesus is the answer. In the old testament, the main focus was on the power of sin. In the new it is the love of God. You can't look at someone being literally eaten by cancer and say that's God, that is enemy that steals kills and destroys. Let's not attribute the works of the devil to God. God is absolutely good all the time. Jesus is the perfect mirror image of God, if you can't find it in Jesus, don't try and find it in God
Jesus commanded us amongst other thinks to *heal* the sick. Why would He empower us to do what is His will. Worse yet why would Jesus heal the sick if it's the father's will. Then you have the father against the son. Instead of blaming Him, let's take responsibility and act in faith in the authority He gave us to destroy the powers of darkeness.
He is soverign but He is not on control of everything "the lord wills that not anyone would perish." He has written in His sovereignity our influence, in giving a place to the Holy Spirit, where we co-labor with Him to see His kingdom manifested here on earth. A kingdom that has no sickness, torment or sin.

I think the context is I count all things a loss in light of knowing Christ.

God only gives good gifts, not suffering. The Devil might make us suffer, but his days are counted. Keep your eyes on the bigger prize.

God is not sovereign in the sense that everything that happens is what He wants. Sickness is not God's plan. Glad you trust God in everything but your lack of faith is a bummer.

AT Kuhns yeah bummer Jesus was beat and nailed to the cross. All his faithful disciples um I don’t think they recieved a mansion and a Mercedes. I might be wrong but I think they all died. There were human just like us. So what makes you think things changed. It sucks ill admit but if you truly truly follow Christ your life won’t be easy. Those are the fake Christians. Why would the enemy and god give you trials if your heart wasn’t in the right place.
