I'm not Polish, but Let's recognize here the outstanding strength of Polish Catholicism. Fr Walter Ciszek, like Pope JPII - another hero from the Polish Culture. God bless Poland.
I recommend that you read about Blessed Jerzy Popieluzko, who was a priest in Warsaw, Poland, in the 1980’s. He inspired the people to stay strong against the Communist rulers and stay honest and faithful. He was kidnapped by the Polish police in October, 1984, and killed.
Amazing story. The courage of the Saints is astounding. Looking forward to reading his books. From the days when the Jesuits believed the Catholic Faith. “A secret army of babushkas”! Love it.
I recommend both of Walter Ciszeks books, He Leadeth Me (his spiritual journey), and WIth God in Russia (more like a biography of sorts). He Leadeth Me is the best spiritual book I've ever read. Truly amazing.
His life story is quite unreal or should I say surreal.....Upon entering Russia, his Bible, Missal and religious items of worship would of being confiscated. That’s a hard call! Not only was there very hard conditions a head of him but also the lack of correspondence between him and his family back home, kind of completely shut from the world. So hard to believe that a person could survive against such odds.
this is truly awesome....and yes, we have been praying for the conversion of Russia...and this is is wonderful to see the miracle of Russia's christian persecution, coming to an end...May God continue to bless Russia and its people... am sharing this beautiful story...

Unbelievably brave Polish-American priest. May Almighty God takes care of his Soul and repose him to heaven!

Thank you for this video!!!!
I learned of Father Ciszek from Fr Michael Schmitz podcast. I'm intrigued by the fact that I found a documentary posted to the Allentown Diocese.
Same here! I even just received his book, “He leadeth me” suggested by Fr. Mike.

I agree with you about “He Leadeth Me”!
Wow! Speechless

What a movie his life would make
His job was torturing out confessions in the gulags
May Our Lady soften your heart and rain down graces on your soul. Servant of God Father Ciszek, intercede for him!
