As a Mexican Is such a pride to hear a beast like Roy express himself like that about Sal Sanchez. He definitely made the best description of Sanchez style. Much respect to Roy !
It's incredible that that Roy and Tyson give so much praise to Salvador that not even the Mexican boxing media do give him it's a damn shame that some Mexican media don't even include him in Mexico's top 5 that's crazy he's number 1 in my book
Mexican Boxing Fan RUclips Channels do give him his credit. The only Mexican Media ive seen that gave him his credit was ESPN in Spanish. I usually take what they say with a grain of salt but they did give Sanchez his credit
I am from Culiacan, huge Chavez fam but i am boxing fan first and i do recognize Sal Sanchez was the best, amazing figher all around, such a shame he passed at such a young age...
You are wrong, Sanchez and Chavez are number 1 here in Mexico, most mexicans know about Sanchez... but Chavez is more famous because he is still alive, that´s all.
Love how Roy just goes on and on speaking about Sanchez with a passion. You can tell he had the upmost respect for him and really inspired him. The Mexican boxing fan base has mad respect for you Roy!
His career was cut too short to say that. I mean he's your top 5 fav fighters. But we don't know how good of a career he truly would've had. He's a top 5 what if. Sucks about those what ifs. We will never actually know
As a diehard Boxing fan, I never heard of Sanchez until Tyson and Roy Jones talked about him. I found out that he died at 23, but the way that they talked about him, I had to do my research. He was an ABSOLUTE MONSTER!. One of the best fighters that I've ever seen. Watched some documentaries on him with complete joy, he was amazing. RIP to one of the greats!
As a Mexican American it makes me feel good to hear this great legend to speak well of Salvador Sanchez. I followed Roy throughout his career. I bought most of his fights back nd 90s
I'm with Roy Jones. It's true what he was talking about Sanchez. Great Champion, Warrior and a Complete Fighter. I love Sanchez how he was all calm and never lost it.
Salvador Sanchez is a living example of a Saiyan. Has the ability to bring up his power level to a notch higher during the course of the fight. Never seen a fighter so cool, calm and collected every time he fights.
Legend respects legend 💯 thank you Roy Jones jr you one of the realest ever bro as a Mexican my dad told me about Salvador Sanchez how good he was I seen his highlights I respect everything Roy Jones jr had to say about him
To add to this. If you take every boxers career up until 23 yrs old... He had a better career then all of them that includes your fav boxer. If you compare everyone by the age of 23
Before Sánchez came on the scene, the big three were Lopez, Gomez, and #1 contender Ruben Castillo. Sal, #9 Ring Magazine contender, comes in and cleans house and the scary thing is this: he was still improving when he beat Nelson!!! RIP mi campeón. 🙏🏽
@@daniaalali4658 I don't limit him to Mexico...him being the Mexican goat is no slight to him...Roy Jones was the best I ever saw better than Floyd Chavez pac anyone
When you get a fighter to get passionate about another fighter, that's a level of greatness we regular folks can barely comprehend.. now when you get a legend like RJJ this passionate about an all time great, you know it's good. Best of luck to Jones Jr. one of the greatest to ever do it.
This is beautiful. I remember Roy talking about how he learned from fighting roosters how to control distance. I never knew that Salvador Sanchez was someone that helped Roy develop his own invincible style. I never picked that up but he studied everything about Sanchez, he knows him like a book. He found something in the forever young champ that clicked for him, that helped him to find what he needed to progress and become top tier elite lb for lb. It's very beautiful. No one can take anything from Chavez. He is a one of a kind monster. Sanchez was something different. One was a tank and the other a fighter jet. I think Sanchez was like Ray Robinson but died at 23. 9 defenses of his title in 2 yrs Tyson said. Look no further than Roy Jones and his reverence for the little legend.
Don't get me wrong, Chavez sr was a Skilled Mexican Boxer who was 89-0 before his 1st loss but my man Salvador Sánchez was just at another level A warrior and Gladiator, He was just a Beast in Boxing, Defense, Offense, Cardio, Coordination, Footwork, Head Movement, & Smart Intelligent Ring IQ. Salvador Sanchez 9 defenses in two years. And 6 of those defeated
