A lot people keep mentioning Back to the Future: The Ride. Well, the ride didn’t open with the park! However, if you want some history of BTTF the ride here ya go: ruclips.net/video/4tn6mZ1C-YI/видео.html
0:01 I've Been To Universal Studios Florida Theme Park In Orlando Florida In The United States Of America Last Year Back In March 2023 And It Was Super Awesome. Thanks Mate. XXxxx ❤🇺🇸
I saw him when I went last January. He got the character down perfectly and was quite popular with the guests. You can also meet Scooby Doo and his friends as well as the Simpsons. I got my picture taken with Bart and Homer.
you're making me feel old. You keep saying "I came here when I was a kid" well, I wonder if I ever served you ice cream at Schwabs Pharmacy on Hollywood blvd
In May 2017 I took my family to Universal. It was their first trip and my first since going just a few months after park opening (Jaws hadn't opened yet). I had not kept up with the changes at all so, you can imagine my surprise when we arrived. I had no idea that things like the boneyard and backlot were gone and kept searching for the Psycho house beyond the trees. As we exited ET, I broke down into tears, realizing that it was the last remnant of a trip I had taken with my, now deceased, father. I sincerely hope it sticks around if for no other reason than reliving that memory. One thing you didn't cover, that I remember and have photos of, was the original Hard Rock location. I think, based on looking at my photos, that it was off down the bath toward the Pyscho house, to the right (up and behind ET). Am I remembering that correctly?
Great video, I love that place! Most of my earliest memories was riding Jaws, ET, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, and Men in Black back in 2003 when I was 5. I sadly have lost that photo album, if I ever find any of those photos showing universal and Islands of adventure back in the early 2000's I will send them your way.
We went to Universal last year and my wife and I were trying to describe to my kids how it used to be, this is a great reminder. I seem to remember the fast boat stunt show was based on Miami Vice (at least it was when we went). Now it's a firework display - that's H&S for you.
I can remember all those things. Nickelodeon Studios, the Slime Geyser, the Psycho House and especially Amity Island. I remember the queue for Kongfrontation was made to look like a NYC subway and a cast member gave my brother and I a sharpie marker and told us we could write what we wanted on the walls (as long as it was clean). Good times! Awesome video dude, it’s so cool how you line up the old pics to the modern time!!!
Amazing! I first went to Universal studios in 1993 as a 13 year old and was extremely amazed. The pre shows that kept you entertained while you waited 3 hours for a 10 minute ride was why we loved it so. I was there when they were shooting a new show at Nickelodeon studios called CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL! Oh the memories!
So I'm late to the party as I'm commenting over two years after you posted this video. Anyway, we have to compliment you as one of the best, if not the best, Orlando vlogger. You do your homework and know the history, trivia, facts better than anyone. Also, FYI, youtube isn't recommending your videos to your target audience. My husband and I subscribe to most Orlando vloggers to keep up to date on happenings in the parks in prep for our vacations. Never once heard of you except in ATW's videos. You should definitely have more subscribers as it is well deserved.
Thank you so much for possibly the best comment I’ve ever received. I don’t know why RUclips doesn’t recommend me to others! I hope you enjoy the videos and thanks for noticing my work.
That was a great and creative time, Christine! I was a producer/designer on the attraction. You and the original cast created these amazing and funny characters to fit into (for the time) some very real and very technical aspects of really making a TV show. It was one of the first “interactive” shows where each audience (aka the executive producers) in each & every show had six different key choices to assemble the prerecorded MSW final scene. First choice in the “pre show” which choice then followed them into the “edit bay” where more show performance were made. Those choices followed them into the “sound effects stage” where members of audience was prompted (and cajoled by you cast members) to perform background sound effects and dub dialogue all of which was recorded. The final “live broadcast” of the closing scene for the audience had that audience’s show choices and their recorded sounds played back in sync making each and every show completely unique and original and your performances made them even more so. Good times!
Great vlog! I have photos of the Bates house from my honeymoon in 1991. My husband was picked to be in the Alfred Hitchcock show and they had him dress as Mother!! 😆
Oh, Micah. I've only been to Universal Studios once and it was when it opened. Everything you showed was how I remember it. And thank you.... Murder She Wrote was one of my favorites. We only spent one day there but we saw almost everything. The tram tour was pretty lame just because there was not much to see. But this was the first place that I noticed they used aroma theming. In the cue lines you could smell NYC subway smells etc. Also, Mom and I got bruised riding the Back to the Future ride. Saw some people getting sick after the ride. Thanks again. That was quite a nostalgic trip.
Great vlog ! I visited the park in November 1990 and then again in 2010. Could not believe how different it was. Plus the hole new Islands of Adventure park. Remember parking with the globe and entrance gate being just accross in front, crazy different. 👍
I went to universal for my first time in 2013, when i was 7. I remember riding rides like earthquake and Jaws... i personally loved them, mostly earthquake, it blew my mind.
I’ve been waiting for a video like this!!! My first time to US Orlando was only in 2015 but I’ve always wanted to hear about the history and changes. This was so well done! Thank you!
This is perfectly put together. I can remember watching double dare, and the intro and ending would always show the globe. I always wanted to visit. I was sad that Nickelodeon left the park . Beetlejuice is a riot too .I've met him 2x and both times he was so funny.
Remember the Hard Rock Café shaped like a guitar? You walked to the main entrance through the long guitar neck and it was so cool inside. It seemed like they had more memorabilia on display in that one.
We made our first trip to universal in 1992 all the way from Scotland & I thought we had parked at the front entrance & you have just confirmed that. Great video, brought back lots of amazing memories 😁
One warning: Richter's Burgers even in off-season is still one of Universal's most popular restaurants. Expect a long wait and the line was LONG. It was worth it and the burgers were great. I also liked the burgers they served in Jurassic Park. You can dine with dinosaurs watching over you!
I screamed so loud during the Hitchcock show when Norman, “dressed like his mom” came RIGHT at me with the knife! After the show a cast member told me I should get a job screaming, he said, ‘seriously that was a great scream”, I was just that scared, lol
Wow how time flies. I remember it was the first place I wanted to go after getting out of the navy back in the fall of 1990 and I had recently been to universal California in 87. I'm now 51 and still a annual pass holder. God I'm old.
Great video, but that actually was the Addams Family House, built for the movies. It isn't the Psycho House. I used to have pictures of it when I visited the first year. I think you can still see it on Google Earth, if you go back on the timeline.
closeupwizard no it was the Bates motel and psycho house. It was built for Psycho IV with Anthony Perkins and Henry Thomas from ET. Addams Family was built on the Paramount lot in Hollywood! Thanks for watching
I went to Universal last year for the first time, and had an awesome time. My dad did go in the 90’s cause he has a picture in front of the original globe, so when I went there I expected to see it, and was surprised it did not look like the same as the picture.
Micah... I too mourn the loss of the original attractions at Universal Studios Florida; most notably Kongfrontation and Jaws, with honorable mentions to the Hitchcock and Murder She Wrote shows, as well as the foreboading Psycho house that used to stand there from Psycho 4. To me... this theme park has morphed way too much being an old fan of Universal itself as far back as 1987 when I first visited their park out in Hollywood. I too remember the tram ride that used to be at this park as well. Just happy to have other closer attractions to where I live that withstand the test of time better than our old favorites.
Shoot.. you need to go to this one! Sure.. not like it used to be, but man during October with Halloween Horror Nights, it is just awesome! Some things are done better in Orlando than in Hollyweird. ;)
When you mentioned that they used to have water shows, I never understood why they never had a show based on Miami Vice. Universal owned the rights to the show and the movie that came out in 2006. At least they definitely ARE going through with the Bourne Identity show and are still updating Jurassic Park...
Loved the Hitchcock show, especially the 3D Dial M for Murder segment. Then, a few minutes later when the screen went blank came the real shocker.........
Charmaine and I did that Home Video experience in 93. We played out a scene from Star Trek. I hope I still have it. I recently tracked down a VCR to see if I can convert a bunch of old videos.
Awesome review brother! I miss that Psycho House!!!! And Jaws too! And Back to the Future! Haha! Great Scott, how things have changed... 😉 See ya soon brother!!! -Al
There are two tributes to the Jaws ride inside Diagon Alley. The first one is a record storefront on the London facade. It has a record titled “Here’s to Swimming with Bow-Legged Women” by the Quint Trio. The second is a few shrunken heads in Knockturn Alley that sing “Show Me the Way to go Home” if you cast the right spell with your interactive wand.
in harry potters diagon alley to the left hand side there is a window with potions in it and if you look behind them their is shark jaws which is a memory of jaws ride that use to be there
For someone that never saw Universal ORL until 2 years ago, this was awesome man, thanks! I just wish you would at least put a LITTLE bit of work into your vlogs.......😜
True Story, I went on vacation to Florida 30 years ago and was at the June 7th Grand Opening Day. Many Attractions had not even been completed yet. I said I was going to buy a house and move there and work for Universal Studios. Long Story short, I purchased a house , Applied for work in The Tech. Dept.(skilled Trades) ,had to showcase my talent and 2 weeks later I received a call that I had the job. Sometimes you just got to follow your dream.
While my family made a few trips to Florida as a kid Disney World was the main destination, and my parents couldn't afford to go to Universal as well. I seen the history
Earthquake being gone really hit me. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Thank you so much for this trip down memory lane. Just like I remembered it. Going back this year, after almost 30 years.
That Beatlejuice guy! sounds JUST like him!!
I was going to say that was one of the better Beatlejuice's I've seen, I used to be one at one point back in the day.
I saw him when I went last January. He got the character down perfectly and was quite popular with the guests. You can also meet Scooby Doo and his friends as well as the Simpsons. I got my picture taken with Bart and Homer.
They need to make sure that dude never quits.
Visited in 92, 95 and lastly in 98. So glad I got to experience all those cool rides. Some of my greatest childhood memories. Thanks for the vid
So many memories!!!
you're making me feel old. You keep saying "I came here when I was a kid" well, I wonder if I ever served you ice cream at Schwabs Pharmacy on Hollywood blvd

I love these through backs!!! Wow times have changed ❤
I was in the original cast of MSW and was doing shows opened day back in 1990. Amazing times.

Candace Dadswell that’s so neat
I LOVED this, brought back so many memories. We were there in 1992. King Kong was my favorite ride.
That was great! Brought back a lot of memories!
I was one of 4 actors to open murder she wrote. Glad you enjoyed it!
Visited the park in June 1994. Then went for the first time since then in August 2017. Talk about change!
Sept 1990 was my first visit here, still have fond memories 😊
WOW!Our First Holiday to Orlando was in 1988!! I FEEL SO BLOODY OLD!!😢
Oh, Micah. I've only been to Universal Studios once and it was when it opened. Everything you showed was how I remember it. And thank you.... Murder She Wrote was one of my favorites. Talk about a blast from the theme park past!
Aaron Knope heck yeah!
Every time you say “After All These Years” I feel so old!! I was working at WDW when USO opened. Feels like yesterday to me 🙈
Janet A hahah! Sorry to make you feel old. Hope you enjoyed the trip down memory lane!
Great vlog !
I visited the park in November 1990 and then again in 2010. Could not believe how different it was. Plus the hole new Islands of Adventure park.

👍
Great video. The 90’s USF is what I remember as a kid. Not been for 14 years, but back this year.
That “weird building” by former ghostbusters is the Guggenheim art gallery in nyc.
The Traveling Ants wow! Thanks! I had no idea
I went to universal for my first time in 2013, when i was 7. I remember riding rides like earthquake and Jaws... i personally loved them, mostly earthquake, it blew my mind.
I got picked back in the day to do the fall during the hitchock film. Old universal was the greatest place ever.
I’ve been waiting for a video like this!!! My first time to US Orlando was only in 2015 but I’ve always wanted to hear about the history and changes. This was so well done! Thank you!
This is perfectly put together.
I can remember watching double dare, and the intro and ending would always show the globe.

Absolutely brilliant brought back some magical memories of my first visit to Universal Studios in September 1990 👍🏻
Brilliant vlog, so clever. Our first visit was back in 1996 so remember a lot but so good to see again . Thank you
Uniquely Universal thank you very much!
Loved, loved, loved this episode! Phenomenal job Micah.
cornbetts thank you so much! You’re too kind
I screamed so loud during the Hitchcock show when Norman, “dressed like his mom” came RIGHT at me with the knife! After the show a cast member told me I should get a job screaming, he said, ‘seriously that was a great scream”, I was just that scared, lol
Jessica Hobby Hahahah that’s great! I always remember being afraid of the attraction but pretending I wasn’t so my dad would let me do it
seeing the birds in 3d was cool too...we picked up a psycho shower curtain there too
Wow how time flies. I remember it was the first place I wanted to go after getting out of the navy back in the fall of 1990 and I had recently been to universal California in 87. I'm now 51 and still a annual pass holder. God I'm old.
Absolutely love your videos! I had a tear in my eye when you started talking about Amity. RIP
For me... that was only one of the times.
Totally miss Amity. Such a huge part of this parks legacy
Very well done overlaying the photos over current shots.
Great video, but that actually was the Addams Family House, built for the movies. It isn't the Psycho House. I used to have pictures of it when I visited the first year. I think you can still see it on Google Earth, if you go back on the timeline.

The Beetlejuice clip has me dying 😂🤣 love it!
I went to Universal last year for the first time, and had an awesome time. My dad did go in the 90’s cause he has a picture in front of the original globe, so when I went there I expected to see it, and was surprised it did not look like the same as the picture.
Brilliant video, very informative, I liked the person crashing out on the bench in front of transformers 🤣🤣🤣
What an excellent video! Thanks for the memories!!!
Todd Joyner thank you for watching
That Beetlejuice impersonator sounded just like Michael Keaton.
he deserves a raise
I saw him when I visited the park last January. His impersonation of Beetlejuice was just perfect. I ALMOST thought he was actor Michael Keaton...
Micah... stot2614 I miss it all! I’m glad we have the internet to revisit the past!
Only been to the one in LA. Like how you gave all the history.
Shoot.. you need to go to this one! Sure.. not like it used to be, but man during October with Halloween Horror Nights, it is just awesome! Some things are done better in Orlando than in Hollyweird. ;)
Look Who's Blogging universal Orlando is a beast! I hope you get to check this one out one day!
That Beatle Juice was pretty close to the real thing, the looks, mannerisms and voice...👍🏼
I miss the old rides: King Kong, Jaws, Back to the Future...etc.
not a ride but backdraft was cool too. you could really feel the heat, lol and how a tiny lil spark can light up awhole building, .. good times
When you mentioned that they used to have water shows, I never understood why they never had a show based on Miami Vice. Universal owned the rights to the show and the movie that came out in 2006. At least they definitely ARE going through with the Bourne Identity show and are still updating Jurassic Park...
I actually remember them playing the theme song and maybe the heat is on during the show.
2030 would be the 40th year for the universal theme park
Really good video man! Crazy how much the park has changed over the years
Conner Wight dude yeah it’s definitely seen some changes but the architecture is mostly the same.. kinda like Hollywood Studios
Damn, this was a good video. Nostalgic as hell.
Loved the Hitchcock show, especially the 3D Dial M for Murder segment. Then, a few minutes later when the screen went blank came the real shocker.........
Stephen Brown holy cow I remember that!
I was born in 1990! So, Universal Studios Orlando and I are the same age! Crazy!
Charmaine and I did that Home Video experience in 93. We played out a scene from Star Trek. I hope I still have it. I recently tracked down a VCR to see if I can convert a bunch of old videos.
TheHolyMoly hahah this I gotta see!
If I find it, I will definitely let you see it!

Florida Freaks thanks man! Things have definitely changed.

The Psycho set was a great. Don’t forget the original Hard Rock Cafe was there as well inside the park
The Universal I fell in love with!
I’m doing the same thing next week. My memories of USF 30 years later.
Brilliant video mate
Such a great vid. Thanks man.
Awesome and I wasn’t expecting Beetlejuice.
Terrific idea for a video and love the execution. Love the before and after. And yes, I miss the Hitchcock Theater terribly.

Fantastic!!
Fernando Rey thank you
Pretty cool to see the park then and now. The Jaws and Earthquake ride looked cool. Did u ride either of them?
For someone that never saw Universal ORL until 2 years ago, this was awesome man, thanks! I just wish you would at least put a LITTLE bit of work into your vlogs.......😜
Laramie On the Loose ahhh gee!
Fievel’s Playland has great memories. 🥰
this was awesome!
Btw I was there during the soft opening and the grand opening with all the stars. Ahh... the memories
Omg BJ they should not have got rid of that show xx
While my family made a few trips to Florida as a kid Disney World was the main destination, and my parents couldn't afford to go to Universal as well. I was a huge fan on Nickelodeon and really wanted to go. One time we drove by and went inside the old Hard Rock, but I never got to inside until 2000 or so.
Oh wow! That’s what I hear from most people. They did the Disney thing and not universal. Glad you got to visit though!
mine was the opposite...went to universal, sea world, wet n 'wild for a week and did 1 day at mgm
I remember going into the Hitchcock making movies and I think it was the film the Birds,Psycho as well..
