  • Arex has developed MTX training ammunition that is designed to be safely used for force-on-force training. MTX training ammunition works in real firearms with small modification/upgrade that helps it cycle and eject normally but also it prevents accidental fire of real rounds with the system installed.
    MTX ammo looks very similar to normal ammunition and is powered by a pyrotechnical primer. The projectiles consist of a plastic cup filled with colored paste that is non-toxic, a brass sealing ring and rubber butt for added mass.
    MTX is very accurate, consistent and functions reliably in guns.

    This is by far the best training, because every other training lacks that real feeling of fear and risk of injury that is always lacking in those trainings.
    But using an ammo that is high pain factor but no real injury really brings out all that comes with a firefight, thus the true colors of people's performance really shows and it's perfect because then you can TRULY train your mind for real scenarios

      Not just that it hurts, but when you try it out and feel the recoil of the rifle, it terrifies you. The thing is that most of the gas energy goes into cycling the bolt but it feels like it's super powerful

From this event, looks like more training with comms during RTC and casualty care & evac drills are needed for continuity. Good stuff!!!

    Back in 2016 I used to hang out with an army vets that did some OPFOR exercises for several units. They always told me that whenever they had to pull out from a position into an adjacent building, they would always set up an ambush outside the building because specially the more specialized units would expect a CQB room clearing battle in the building and usually would be quite successful while more regular units would try to surround the area therefore rending their efforts less effective. When I watched this, it really reminded me of that and how I would potentially just stay outside the building because every one wants the stimulation of a room clearing battle and they paid for it.

    Whenever we had training exercises with such ammunition in the military, we were all overjoyed. There is no better training than experience itself, and due to the nature of the profession, the risk of death is a basic factor. With this ammunition we had the opportunity to learn and experience situations that would've lead to our death. Always loved OPFOR and always will. Best form of training.

      You have a picture of a paintball player...so you do understand that this is essentially the same thing? Both feel like ass, but saying being hit with a paintball prepares you for facing down someone who wants to kill you is bull. There are some people out there with incredibly high pain tolerance, for them getting hit by a sim (especially when geared up) is nothing. As for people with low pain tolerance, they won't want to get hit, but at the same time, they know from the outset that it's not like they are going to die. The biggest advantage is the ability to expose yourself to big shots of adrenaline repeatedly. The only thing it can't do is let you overcome the fear of death.
      If you doubt me, then you can look up badge cam videos of officers losing their shit when confronted with a suspect who shoots at them for the first time. Even with FoF training under their belt, you will see officers get swept up in the adrenaline rush, or some just completely break down because the near brush with death was more than they could handle.
      Not knocking the value of FoF training. But a lot of the value is in the ability to think clearly under the effects of adrenaline and the fact that you are working with weapons that similuate your duty weapons.

      @@Osprey1994 I do play paintball as well. I've also served in an SF Unit in my country's armed forces as a conscript. I do understand your point fully and I do also agree with you. Sims/Paintballs feel like nothing when geared with the exception of some sensitive spots. I've done mainly CQB simulations and I've been hit in spots that actually hurt quite a lot due to the distance as well. Adrenaline is by FAR the best painkiller there is. I've gotten some serious adrenaline rushes while being in gunfights that literally made me feel like a Tank. Adrenaline though has some levels. When being shot Adrenaline levels rise. After the end of a gunfight they decrease gradually. That's what I've noticed. Losing your shit in the field is basically just the lack of experience, competence and psycological strength. I've seen it and it happened to me as well the first times.
      That being said, I was pointing out that sims are the closes we could get to real conditions in terms of training.

    Have used both simution training ammo and a laser system in my time in the service - and I find they both work, but in different scenarios. The sim ammo works really well in close quarter and the pain involvced with getting hit really does make you evaluate your movements, concealment, etc. moving forward. I know this is a traning tool - but where I did find it lacking, was in scenarios on a 'larger' scale. I know that this is not something you are likely encounter outside military service, but we trained regularly in a town build for fibua-mout - meaning a mix of both cqb and then the longer distances involved when moving through open urban areas having to cover windows in multi-story buildings, rooftops and so on. In that scenario it does have some limitations, but for cqb drills it is indeed an excellent training tool. And yes it hurts, and leaves a substanstial mark... especially if you are hit in the face....

    A couple of notes guys; I feel like the ballistic shield is a great tool if you know the enemy has no explosive or way to deal with you other than rifles, but I feel if explosives such as grenades and IEDs were in play it'd be a huge, huge liability for combat spacing??
    Also; on the airsoft note, some guns do have the ability to malfunction like that, mainly gas guns. So while yeah, most electric guns do not have blowback, gas guns do and you can replicate the exact malfunction that was shown. Great video guys, loved it!

      @jeffreyheil9542 10 месяцев назад

      @@Novalmfao when a round is fired the casing is extracted and the bullet is what leaves the weapon. In this case instead of a bullet it’s a paint ball. We usually wear a face mask to protect from the paintball. Our uniforms prevent it from hurting that much. However, it can break skin if any skin is exposed. It’ll sting for a moment, but it will not seriously injure or kill you.
