Just look how effortlessly it braked from 250 to 100kmh

I have the US sedan version of this car. It's one of the most enjoyable cars I've owned. A great daily driver that gets about 6.5L / 100km.

It's very impressive performance and acceleration for a 2 liter engine in a big wagon. But the harshness of the engine seems to be something you would not hear in a similar engine from BMW. And while I could only hear the sound on the video, I got the impression there was some resonance at certain engine speeds under full acceleration, particularly around 4000 rpm. Was there any vibration getting through into the cabin? Great video by the way. I see you managed to test the high-speed braking ability of the E300 as well - ha, ha, ha!

This car has a sound modulation system. It puts out non existing engine sounds from the speakers in the cabin. What you hear around 4000 rpm is resonance I think.

@@TopSpeedCars I hate the speaker generated engine sounds when you put it in Sport mode. It was especially annoying in my previous car 2014 BMW 328i Sport. I wished I could turn off the sound when driving in Sport mode. Fortunately, my Mercedes E400 does not do that in Sport mode, or the sound is so subdued that I don't notice it.

It’s a shame that there isn’t Burmester sound system. Those black speaker covers look bad 😕
