Okay so I've had 6th Nerve Palsy about about 2 years now
I started an eye exercise routine.
It does work! But you need treat it as if your body building your eye.
That means no sugar(they dull your nerves) And take some b vitamin supplements daily for nerve strength.
When exercising I like to use multiple targets to look at (actual Target logo) because it's very "focusable" instead of a sliding finger or pencil
Don't forget to work your other eye a bit because it's going to need strength to keep from just dashing all the way in when you look towards weaker eye (also looking all the way out on that eye helps you pinpoint how to do it on other eye)
Example: Lets say you have the palsy in your left eye..
Set up close target(somewhat able to see but takes time to focus both eyes)
And Far target(hard to focus)
I'd look all the way right
Then try focus close target to left
Then all the way right
Then attempt far target left
For me, after a couple reps I start to feel something similar to muscle exhaustion... which is a good thing if your working out .

How much time did it take for your eye to get better?

I still cant touch the very edge like my other eye

Is it possible for an acquired 6th nerve palsy to recover after nearly two years since onset? Without surgical treatment

I was diagnosed with 6th nerve palsy but my double vision isn't horizontal but vertical. Has a ct scan, nothing major and then they sent me for an MRI scan here in Canada. I have not received results yet. It's been 2 months now and I do get some headaches but mostly eye muscle and pain in the left eye. I have had two separate traumatic incidents in the past but 20 years ago and another one about 5 years ago.
The double vision is sometimes corrected with my prism glasses except not all the time as my eyes get tires or about 6 hours into the day after waking up I start with double vision. I also have a diary and noticed the double vision when I go outside in the sun or cold and it happens immediately. I do have a patch and will do the exercise you recommend. This had come suddenly and was sent to emergency for 12 hours where they tested lots.
They are not sure yet if it is congenital, (Which I doubt) or from trauma or wait till the MRI returns. My Neuro-Ophthalmologist is India and told me not to worry and that surgery can fix this but I have heard otherwise. I haven't seen any improvement in the last 2 months.
Question is surgery successful and will If nothing else is found in the MRI, can this be fixed or cured?

i take bp medicine in evening and unfornutly morning, it should one., after i feel weekness in right side.after one day i take escoprin and after 5 days i do ct scan. ct scan normal.what's was the problem.

Hello sir I'm 25 , i am diagnosed with the third episode of six nerve palsy 4 days before. First i had this issue in May 2021 then in Oct 2021 and now this is the third time . Last two times it was cured with tablets in 2-3 days . My opthalmologist gave me Palsineuron , Neurogla and Wysolone 20 But this time it's not working with tablet . I'm done with MRI , Thyroid Test , B12 and D3 Test . There is nothing in MRI. Only B12 and D3 is insufficient . Help me with your consultancy

My ophthalmologist recently diagnosed me with left 6th cranial palsy resulting in diplopia. In doing the research on exercises for this condition the overwhelming evidence suggested that exercises are not recommended and that they would not help. The weakness is not in the muscle; rather, the issue is with the nerve sending the signal to the eye muscle to move the eye laterally. Can you comment on this please. Will doing the exercise you suggest damage the innervation of the nerve with the muscle in any way? Thank you.

@@DrAmitShahNeurologist not it won’t. You can’t exercise a muscle that isn’t receiving a nervous response. Just wait for the nerve to heal.

Hi doc , I am having left eye 6th nerve palsy from about a month. It came suddenly . Recently had an MRI , detected with pitruitual micro adenoma but my neurologist says it’s not effecting optic nerve. Still the proper cause is unknown. Will it go away with the exercise?
I also have left eye 6th nerve palsy 6 months ago, Feb 25, 2022 is my 6 months already, and didn’t go away, doctors recommended to do a surgery, but I’m very scare, I wonder is there any other alternative without surgery

@@ANIKETKUMAR-gn7yk I had my first surgery in Jan 2023, but the surgery is failed, still cross eyes and still seeing double vision, then in May 2023 is my second surgery, it’s success, my eyes are normal now no more double vision, look good

Hi Doc! Im from philippines. I have sixth nerve palsy since june 22, 2021 i already consult the doctor. And i have a ctscan they said its all normal. They said it cause stress and not eating on time. This coming aug. 22, 2021 Its my second month.
Medicine i take : Polynerve (Every morning) and do exercise.
I have question its okay to use eyedrops? hove you notice this one.
