  • Elon Musk, Neuralink’s founder, said the first human received an implant from the brain-chip startup last week and is recovering well following the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) giving Neuralink clearance last year to conduct its first trial to test its implant on humans.
    The startup is trialing its wireless brain-computer interface to evaluate the safety and functionality of the implant and surgical robot.
    We speak with Dr Allan McCay, Deputy Director, Sydney Institute of Criminology, Sydney Law School on the range of applications, Australian and international frameworks and the ethical issues related to emerging neurotechnologies.
