I agree 100%! I am an “older” nursing student, just turned 40, and I have 3 kids and a husband who just retired from 23 years active duty and has embarked on a new career in bio devices where he travels weekly. I got an A in 1st semester and almost done with 2nd (looking like an A also or very close). It can be done but you MUST put the time in!!! No way around it! Practice questions, most definitely!! I have done almost 6000. You make time for what you want. Thank you for the awesome inspirational videos!
Hi Susan, where is a good free resource for practice questions? I'm in the same boat. I'm 38 with a son, and in my first year of nursing school. The material is not difficult for me, it's the exams. Thanks.
I contacted the school to ask about the application process having no set in stone intentions and with all my transfer credits I could be entering the nursing school program as soon as Fall!! THANK YOU for all the encouragement about being an older student going into the field. You are the best Nurse Bass!
I am a nurse to be, thanks to a high school program I was accepted into this year I will graduate next spring with my CNA license and then go into an LPN program in the fall!! Your channel is super super helpful!
I've been watching your videos for the past 3 years or so and just wanted to thank you for the tips and advice you have given. I begin nursing school in February 2018!!!
Great tips and you’re so right about submerging yourself into the material. I cannot memorize anything for my life. But! I can know the material. In order for me to retain anything I must understand every part and summarize it in my own words. Just trying to remember definitions doesn’t work out for me.
thank you so much for sharing. which source is having select all the apply questions you think I can get? also could you please share with us the sources you use for practice questions? if you can just write the names of the sources. Thank again.
What type of practice questions would you recommend? From the end of chapter? From ATI? Saunders? Thanks a lot for these tips :D Can you make a video about how to get through all the reading that nursing requires. Do you read all the chapters or skim and read the important parts/ones you don't understand. My program has LOTS AND LOTS of reading. I try to get through it all but most of the time I can't and focus what the teachers teach in class. What do you recommend?
I recommend Saunders NCLEX review books, Lippincott's The Point, and ATI is alright too. As far as the reading material goes, I pretty much refuse to make a video on that topic because there is no way that I can top the video that Nurse Nacole made on the topic hahaha. She made a really awesome video and I always recommend people to check it out whenever I get this question. So you should check it out. Just type in "Nurse Nacole How To Study From a Textbook." Good luck!
Question for you Nurse Bass: What would you say to someone who has been accepted as a nursing intended student to a nursing school, but upon taking one nursing class finds themself questioning the direction they've chosen in the medical field? Not questioning the medical field all together, just nursing.
Hello, I just got accept into nursing school for next year and I am feeling doubtful. I used to be very excited and looked forward to nursing school but now I feel like I just lost all of my confidence. I'm not very smart with science but I can be if I try enough but I am nervous and not sure if I am smart enough.
I need help again...I have a comprehensive final coming up in 14 days...I need to make a 88 out of 100 to pass...I'm still reading into the questions too deep due to my 17 years as an Lpn..it's killing me softly
Well, you have to ask yourself if you are retaining the material or not. Personally, I can't listen to actual music while studying. It's way too distracting. But I CAN study while listening to instrumentals, and no words. That's much easier and actually, my preferred way to study.

Studying is so boring but when I listen to music it's so much more enjoyable. You think it's hurting me?
Well, you have to ask yourself if you are retaining the material or not. Personally, I can't listen to actual music while studying. It's way too distracting. But I CAN study while listening to instrumentals, and no words. That's much easier and actually, my preferred way to study.
Hey bro, I know you're a nurse and all. But I hope you got that cold sore looked at. It might be the starting of an outbreak of herpes simplex 2.
