Obviously I meant Trans Am and not T-Bird.
Yep... glad I looked at the comments before I chimed in LOL :P
You leave my dad's Trans Am outta this.
"Always screw towards your crotch." Talk about a gold mine of a t shirt idea.
I don’t care that this was another shop furniture build, your story telling and the super editing had me laughing and really, really enjoying the whole thing.
Superb stuff thank you for sharing.
Thank you thank you!
Agreed!
As a professional sound editor and mixer, I just want to say that ADR was perfect and totally believable. 😂
thank you for the huge tip on the leg width, then the attaching the drawer slide to build out then attach the build out. genius.
"Shop furniture doesn't need soft close drawer slides." *Uses solid walnut trim on shop furniture.* Haha
hahaha!!!
Well... It needs to be beautiful enough. Right? 😬
Haha solid.
Not to mention the premium plywood...
#respectthewalnut
At 5:48 this shot is perfectly square. Good job!
Wes Anderson style!
Ghost ridin’ the SawStop at 3:44
Thanks man. Your videos make me smile.
This comment makes me smile!
That dub was so smooth that I couldn't even tell it wasn't you 😂. Great video, David.
Holy crap that bottom door made this video 10x what it was. Great thought!
''I'm Johnny knoxville and this is pocket hole joinery'' you killed me there! This one of the best unexpected pun I heard in a long while!!!
The sass about drills and drilling is back and I love it so much. Even more than the REM reference when sanding.
That false door looked so good. Impressive. I may try that on my outfeed table i am building to church it up.
The editing on this is hilarious😹😹😹😹
‘You know how plywood is. It has an attitude’
My coffee is now all over my phone and lap from laughing.
❤️❤️❤️
A welcome return to getting the screw started first. All that was missing was the driver slipping the head repeatedly noise *Chef kiss*
That is a great idea with the bottom door
Isn’t this the first time you fully finished a piece of shop furniture. Good project
Hahaha! Yep!
That was very classy to make the tools play the jackass song. Very classy. I applaud you
Bought Kapex for the same reason, expecting a lifetime out of it. Looking forward to an update soon. Best wishes!
Love that false door!
Loving your new video formats way more personal and funny too!
Extra good video, I liked the running jokes about the drawers, that style always kills me.
Such a great design - who says shop furniture can't combine form and function!
The zoom made it special.
Wow! Who knew Johnny Knoxville was a woodworker!
''This is shop furniture! This is'nt mom's furniture!'' Proced to edgeband with walnut
That false door front is brilliant. Imma steal that for something. Great job
I really like the false door at the bottom. Sometimes it's the little things that make the project, don't you think?
I was thouroughly entertained, thank you!
You probably won't see this since it's been like 24 hours since you posted. But I got some crap news today. I'm not looking for internet back pats or anything. I just wanted you to know that even if this video is 10/10 the whole time it's on that metric, you gave me 19 minutes and 12 seconds of joy today. I love your content, even if it's another shop table. P.S. That false door is an awesome idea and looks great!
Thank you Chris. I’m wishing you better news. ♥️
Beautifully filmed! I really loved the sweeping camera motions when at the table saw. It gives the scenes visual interest beyond what you're doing on screen. I gotta get me a Dan. Heck, I'll even take a Chuck at this point!
Nice cabinet David!
“We’ll talk about the drawers, when it’s time to talk about the drawers” 🤣
Nice to see you getting the saw repaired as compared to buying a new one.
Love the idea for the rubber baseboard dust flap!
Still have my DeWalt 12 inch. Over 10 years now.
My Ridgid is going on 15 years strong!
@@sailingeric nice, another great brand of tool that is completely underrated. Especially their warranty on batteries. I would have saved over $500 already compared to my 18v DeWalt batteries I’ve replaced over and over.
No soft close drawer slides, but walnut edge banding is appropriate for shop furniture.
I see nothing wrong with that!
@6:34 your voice changed. Love it because it is a classic Make Something touch.
Just. Awesome. Love this!!!
I love the areola tshirt. 👍🏻
Great video. The false door on the bottom is an awesome idea!!
Let's talk about those drawers when its time to talk about those drawers!
Had a good laugh while learning with this. Cheers!
you really have a good sense of design with all your projects. Love this one.
Great build love the build and don’t listen to people saying to not use this or that. Personally I like the walnut edge and it’s a solid build using plywood!
As always, your drawers are impeccable. Thanks for more inspiration Mr P!
The edit was on point as usual!!! Excellent work!
Fantastic build and video. Your style is amazing and so entertaining. Thank you for what you do.
Nice job. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep making. God bless.
Hail to the editor, slayer of scope creep. Still wondering about that fine woodworking though.
Some great ideas as well about installing the slides. And that false door keeps the dust out nicely.
The clamps!!
I'm always so jealous of the quality of the plywood you got there. In my country the edges are never that clear and smooth, at the most we have 6 layers, and the faces usually have very contrasting spots, and i'm talking about the nice quality ones, Furniture grade stuff , which is guaranteed to not have voids between the layers (which they sometimes do anyway)
Ahh man, that is a bummer. The good stuff isn't even made here. It's imported.
This really exceeded my expectations compared to your description on the podcast. Really an underrated build. Great work and a ton of good tips in there.
That is a sharp-looking build. Great job!
Excellent work, Dave! And it turned as beautiful as any shop furniture needs to be! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
That false door is super cool!
Also, I will totally buy that drawer t-shirt first.
great stuff. love it.
Thanks for the tips! Hope your miter saw finds it's way home soon!
Glad we finally talked about the damn drawers! But my Grandma ALWAYS had soft-close drawers in her woodworking shop.
hahaha!
I love the editing of this video. Very funny....
Always great videos on your channel. Thanks for the tips on legs/drawers!
On 'today I learnt'... The #1 rule in woodworking - always get the screws started first. How did I not know this? I feel like an absolute amateur now.
Always great projects and entertaining at the same time.
That fein turbo shopvac is by far the best one I have used. Very quiet and great suction. I don't own one personally but I have been wanting to get one for awhile. Also this table came out great! I want to make something similar for my omtech laser, just not as tall probably.
Nicely done David! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Outstanding move using the DW735 in the thumbnail to draw in a broader audience... You should do some temp work staging houses!
Great video as usual. Very entertaining. I need to step up my video production game.
"Always screw towards your crotch" Now THAT's a t-shirt
Seems like everyone is grabbing those Cauliflower inserts for the sawstops.
He was super backed up when I grabbed mine but it was def worth it.
I love it
Great video, Dave~! I like that false front for the open space below. I'll be looking at a CNC soon and this looks like a good solution for a platform/stand. (Still deciding on which CNC to go with.) Thanks much~!
Shoulda got Brett McAfee to make you a 16 bit animation of the magic smoke leaving your Festool miter saw. I'm also digging this Fillet Mignon logo you've got now, but I don't know what it has to do with woodworking. ;)
Great video. Practical but still gorgeous shop furniture. Mahalo for sharing! 🙂🐒
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️For false front
That false door is AMAZING! Love this idea so much. Great project as always!
Not sure why but this may be the best video of yours I've watched. Made me laugh and I learned some stuff. "Not gonna talk about drawers until..."lol
Awesome!
Nice job David. That style of shop furniture is my favorite. Simple to build, plenty sturdy. I'm not a fan of the iron on/adhesive edge banding either.
Intake at the ER: What brings you in today sir?
Dave: Well...I screwed myself.... literally....
"....while fixing drawers.... I screwed into my drawers.... drawing blood..."
First of all, this is a sweet-ass looking shop cabinet. The fake door front was a surprise twist I wasn't expecting. B) moment of silence for the Kapex. Finally, I laughed way too hard at #1 Woodworking Tip (every time for the last how many years?), and the transition blocking in and out of the ad segment. I guess we're just having fun here. Thanks for sharing!
🙏
I made something. For the shop. I used soft-close drawers, but no walnut. Sometimes I use push-to-open drawers, so I don't have to make handles.
We need the stripped screw noise montages again
Beautiful transitions 😂
Yerrr!!!!
What about the drawers?
Now I want to see Johnny Knoxville drive pocket hole screws into Steve-O while riding a shop cart down the hill
hahaha! yes!!
Wait wait wait. Dan's back?!
My brother Dan. Too many Dans!
That fake door is a nice concept, gotta steal that.
Great edits! LOL
HEY, my dad's trans bird is up on proper saw horses.
Hi David, always drill towards your crotch , I nearly spat my coffee out still laughing at it while typing this , your still one of the best youtuber's,
keep up the good work,
G.
🙏
Magnets instead of screws would have been a sweet touch
Impressive design ,how dose the vacuum attach under the bench with the draws in place I must be missing something ?.
6:30 he talks about the drawers.
If you cut a 6" hole centered near the end of each drawer, you would have a set of Cornhole Drawers. Cover the holes for drawer mode, then uncover and take outside for cornhole mode. :)
haha! Brilliant!! Thanks Steve!
So about those drawers…… when we gonna talk about ‘em? 😂😂
What vacuum is that you are using under there?
Run out to Harbor Freight and get a replacement miter saw. You won't feel bad about tossing it out when you get your Kapex back...
