But they were all together basically side by side on naboo for qui-gons funeral in ep 1. Palpatine was on many other planets with the Jedi so I’m sure this alter isn’t the reason. The man is just that powerful. Though I could see this alter clouding the Jedis judgement on coruscant on top of what palpatine is doing, win-win for sheev. Also I prefer to know the Jedis hubris grew over a millennia from ignorance not an alter.
Torturing an unarmed prisoner - that sounds totally like Jedi way.
There's no justification that they did it for the greater good. What the Jedi presented was the acknowledgment that someone's life is more important than someone else's. Cad Bane could have suffered for the rest of his life because of what the Jedi did to him. That's extremism. We're going to torture a prisoner because we want to achieve something, and he is the key.
The concept of necessary evil for the greater good is also a concept of fanatics and extremists. For example, a slightly extreme example would be risking the lives of civilians to end a battle and the war faster. So it may mean less death and suffering.
It's the same logic as in the example from the episode and is literally evil.
I think it could be argued to be justified in this instance as a necessary evil, but not by the Jedi, they are meant to hold all life as sacred and not use terror or torture as a tool. They totally violated the principles they are sworn to uphold

@@Fiddlefiddle5000-qv1ly everyone knows, the jedi order fell off in the centuries preceding the clone wars. they were never really all that good to begin with IMO, but they got extremely politically involved in this day and age and definitely strayed from being "peacekeepers"
To answer the question about Yoda not being able to sense the Emperor: I don’t remember where it is said (probably in one of the books), but the Emperor has figured out a way to masque his presence in the Force, so that when the Jedi sense him, all they sense is a normal man. They also can’t have any visions warning them about him because the War has made the Dark Side increasingly powerful, and the stronger the Sark Side is, the more clouded and vague their visions become.
Indeed, this is mentioned a lot in the Plagueis novel by James Luceno, it's also available as a really good Audible adaptation with sound effects and voice acting, it's an origin story for Palpatine and explains who Darth Plagueis The Wise is from the story he told Anakin in Revenge Of The Sith.

The Jedi don’t know Palpatine true identity is due to his shear power in the darkside and an ancient Sith shrine that lies beneath the Jedi temple which was built over top of the shrine all of that darkside energy was able to really mess with the Jedi

The Point with the Dark side is a nice thought, many see the Clone wars as an "Propaganda" from the Galactic Republic, especially the early seasons
Hyperspace isn't just a simple thing that you can do in any ship at any time you want. It requires precise calculations that are done using a ship's "Nav Computer" and jumps can only be made if a ship has a "hyper drive". Further more, you can't just jump to and from any location you like, you have to stay in what are called "hyper space lanes" which are precise and explored routes with entrance and exit points.
That's why you see ships not going into hyperspace immediately all the time, it takes time for the ships to make the calculations and get to an entrance point of a hyper space lane.
Jedi do have the power to jump very high and also Count Dooku has the power to fall slowly.

You should definitely watch the 2003 Clone Wars. It’s like 2 hours total of short episodes made by the same guy that did Samurai Jack, Genndy Tartakovsky
Yoda is that in-tune with the force, since he is not really that far off of a thousand years old (around 800 if I remember correctly) he's just trained that long and is also a part of a species that seems to just be extremely force sensitive to begin with. Sidious/Palpatine however, is that much more stronger and was trained by another extremely powerful sith lord, so he is able to use his training to mask his connection to the force. As far as using the force to fly, not so much but it is common for Jedi to use it for a bit of an extra push in combat whenever they need to jump or do anything like that. Similar to what Yoda does in combat actually.
The quality of the animation improves every season, by season 4 the show looks completely different and way better in my opinion.

There are several versions of explanation as for why the Jedi can't sense Palpatine (Darth Sidious), according to different sources of media:
1), that there's an old Sith temple below the Jedi temple which masks the Dark Side from Palpy. According to other sources there's a Light Force Nexus below the Jedi temple (which would basically do the opposite), which makes that the most controversial theory. (Also, proximity like standing right next to him should technically cancel that out.)
2), there's a Sith Artifact that Palpy keeps close which masks his Force Energy. He'd need to take that thing with him wherever he goes though, which... might seem suspicious imo lol.
3), it's an ability he learned as a Sith, which makes him undetectable as long as he's not actively channeling the Force, which is probably the most logical explanation.

This show was originally made for kids, so even though it can have pretty dark themes and can be pretty violent, generally shows during this time had to usually end on a positive note, which is why the republic wins a lot.
Don’t worry though, as it goes on the dark side will get their moments, trust me.
My theory is that Yoda actually sensed Ord Enessance (?) die, he's the Jedi Bane killed and that the Changeling turned into, he may have sensed in that moment why he was killed as well.
