I love stealing enemy vehicles XD, that's why I ALWAYS go down with the vehicle so no one takes it.

Yea never leave a tank unoccupied. Better to die taking out as many enemies as you can with it rather than giving it to the enemy and still dying. At the very least, destroy it yourself!
If I have c4 left I can bail out and then blow up my own tank to prevent it from being stolen, but otherwise I go down with it

This stopped being a problem in BF1 (technically starting with the Battlefront series, if you want to count them as Battlefield adjacent), but, man, you could *really* mess a team over by taking all their armor. Especially in Rush.
Only the part where they could steal your tank from the flag (BF5 had on the pacific maps tanks at flags again btw) You could still steal the tank when they jumped out of it.

Yeah, BF1 and hardline is where series went bad. BF5 and 2042 are even worse, but bf1 and hardline started the downward spiral

I remember back in Bad Company 2 stealing enemy vehicles was basically a given since the friendly and enemy bases didn't have an out-of-bounds zone. Also, in BC2 if repairing wasn't an option, I'd stay in a tank or APC until HP was in the single digits and I would throw a grenade underneath it to scuttle the vehicle after bailing out.
In BC2 I used to sneak into the enemy base and plant mines on their tanks.
I also put SLAMs on helipads in BF4

That's why I stopped carrying the repair tool by default. My teammates just drive away as I try to repair them. I do switch back to it when my squad has a tank and plays as a squad.

Fun story too, one time i ended up in a match with a player who would constantly deliberately give the enemy team all the vehicles he could, jets, tanks, jeeps, every one of them. I think he got banned after 3 matches of constantly doing it.

That was probably one of the only scenarios I would legitimately rage quit from. Dumbass team mates nabbing vehicles, and either bailing immediately after getting to where they want to be or not going out with the vehicle. It was usually one guy too that would do that but with every vehicle, whatever they could get their grubby hands on.

Have yet to see one person in the comments complain about trying to repair allies who just don't sit still. I will go out of my way to repair others and I get killed so often because they almost always back away at the first sign of a fight.
Jesus. This. Even worse in hardcore when they reverse at the first sight of a soldier and roadkill a teammate.

@@elassassin0129 As someone who only plays hardcore now, it's my third source of deaths. First two are Tanks and LAV's. Three is friendly tanks or LAV's. Being an engineer sucks.
Meanwhile, I'm on bf 1943 at Iwo Jima with either 8 landing crafts, 5 planes, 5 jeeps, 3 tanks, and the bombing/ air raid bunker ALL being used to camp and spawn the enemy carrier... or ours.
Guadalcanal being even worse with no landing craft, but SIX tanks, EIGHT jeeps, 5 planes, and the air raid bunker. Assuming you manage to make it into the bomber station- be prepared to be targeted by 3-4 flak guns, 5 fighters, and about 20 tank/jeep machine guns combined. Technically it's impossible to have ALL the vehicles in one teams possession, let alone all be used at one. But when they are controlled by only one team- you must have a death wish to go up against all that.
Engineer: Are you the guy with a tank?
Noob: Yes.
Engineer: Aarrrgghh!!

Im surprised they didnt do a stolen jet episode. I used to do that all the time. Hop in our jet, crash it into whichever of their jets is about to take off, then hop in their jet and bail. Even better if you had time was throw c4 on it then take the other. When you get in a dog fight jump out and blow the c4...oh people got soooo pissed. Only managed to land back in my jet once after pulling that off...wish I knew how to screen record back then, I dont know if the original rendezook had even been done yet when I pulled that off.
That's when you know it's time to find a new team/server.
Now being able to tap into an engineers mic during the match would be something… we need commander back

I love stealing the enemy transport chopper on Shanghai and flying it back to base and sitting there the whole match just so they can get up on the skyscrapers same thing on sunken dragon map but with the scout chopper i managed to steal the enemies chopper and just kept it the match kept it away from a dude going like 40 to barely anything lol
