Unholy is still the best DK PvP Spec...? Cata Classic Prepatch BGs

After Frost and Blood, time to try out the last missing spec in Prepatch BGs: Unholy. It is supposed to be the best DK spec by far for PvP in Cataclysm. Can absolutely see why cause the transformed ghoul pet is insane. Right now at this level Unholy is still missing its strongest def CD Lichborne, making it quite vulnerable and not as fun to play in BG as Blood and Frost imo. As soon as DK gets Necrotic Strike tho, Unholy will start to shine and it will be strong for all PvP activites. While Frost and Blood DK can maybe compete in RBGs, this will not be the case in Arena PvP.

I have been playing alot of Unholy and Frost Dk (my favorite spec) over the past years and am currently playing Classic alot (Mainly Dk and Shaman).

To clarify a few things: This was recorded after the resil "fix" went live, so Unholy dmg might look way less spectacular compared to the previous Blood and Frost BG vids; Unholy is also not so much about big numbers but alot of the pressure comes from pets (and necro strike later). I think Frost and Blood DK are decent alternatives to Unholy for BGs and maybe even better situationally, cause relying on pets/rampup dmg can be annoying at times in BGs. For Arena PvP on the other hand Unholy DK will be the uncontested King spec again (as we are on final patch), Necro spam as Unholy is just too strong compared to the other DK specs and there is enough time to build up all the pressure to overwhelm enemies. From what i have seen every DK spec, except Blood, struggles with survival tho, that is the only thing keeping Unholy DK from being a complete S-Tier spec, like Rogue/Feral imo. Compared with Wrath DKs (Frost/Unholy) are really vulnerable in Cata, in exchange for more offensive capabilities. Maybe i get to upload a few beta arena games for the DK specs if i have time.

frost didn't even feel that bad in 2s with a healer on beta, but now that 3s is the only real bracket and frost being squishy af + this dumb late cata patch change having to hardcast hungering cold while standing still it might be rly RIP for 3s...

Well in case he doesn't respond, hes using way more than 1 macro/bind to control the pet. Which one do you mean by "the macro"?
From what I can tell he has seperate binds for petattack, petfollow, petmoveto, normal and focus gnaw and leap, ghoul huddle, pet summon, dark transformation, death coil pet, pet sacrifice, and looks like hes got the ghouls claw automation turned on and off built into some other ability so that the pet will have energy to stun when needed. So guessing 13 or more different binds just for pet
As the first answer correctly stated its not one macro, its just keybind for new "move to function" (need to take it from spellbook first and move in pet bar), the rest of petcontrol is just normal binds for /petfollow /petstay and huddle
and as also alrdy mentioned target and focus gnaw/leap macro for example:

/petattack [target=focus ,exists]
/cast [target=focus ,exists] Leap
for focus petkick, can replace with gnaw for same macro etc. But i will probly remove the autocast toggle from the macros soon and swap to manually toggling the autocast with seperate bind, cause in Cata the transformed Ghoul cleaves with Claw so it can break crucial CC or bounce PoM heal and help the enemies if its baked into other macros.
petheal macro is:

/cast [target=pet] Death Coil
and for petattack to also kill totems with mousover:
/cancelaura Acherus Deathcharger
/petattack [target=mouseover, exists] ; petattack [target=target]
Unholy is pretty bad in cata.
only reason unholy was so strong in wotlk was because it scaled off of armor pen.
