@Emprial Lion Well, Nuclear weapons or rockets may not show the superiority of a countries military. Pakistan possesses ballistic nuclear weapons but it has a military that couldn't control the Taliban and the same as North Korea. Having Nuclear weapons didn't make you a country that hit first. The Australian, Germany, Italy, and other countries' military is influential without Nuck.

    • @tilethio

@Emprial Lion But when Jimmy Carter says I would have wiped out Iran he may not be talking about the red button. There are thousands of pathways to wipe out one country.

Well, such sabotage is referred to as terrorism in the modern term. Any country sponsored such acts it is not self-defense. It is a self-declaration to be excluded from the international society, and braking its possible future. Sometimes even knowing the facts it is not a good idea for countries to argue on collateral issues with an elephant in the room. But coming back to the substantial issue, although I am angry with his stance on many international issues, he has exercise caution not to create horror in the middle of a cold war.

The title of the video is inappropriate, cause it gives the impression that that was all was said during the interview, and it casts president Carter in a negative light. However, I believe Jimmy Carter was a great president as well as a person. He had the foresight for not taking a hasty or a rash action that could have led to more problems and disasters, inspite of all the pressure he was under, and if that shows one thing, it’s actually a sign of wisdom, strength and personal fortitude on his part, to not fall under or be swayed by a war mongering super structure that is more inclined to war and escalations instead of diplomacy or finding a middle ground. Unfortunately, when you are like that, you are more than likely to be smeared and dubbed as weak.......

Keep telling myself what? The actual economic truth, not some Qnon conspiracy that orange cultists like you convince yourself of.
Here's a simple & pure statistics for ya, might hurt your feelings. Trump's first 3 yr in office before Corona produced 1.5 million less jobs than Obama's last 3 yr in office. Job growth slowed under Trump due to his nonsensical trade wars which actually cost 300k American jobs. Trump's trillion dollar tax cut benefitting the rich was another Republican try at their infamous trickle down economics started by their Lord savior Reagan. Cut the tax off rich & wealthy & high income people, that will trickle down, it has never worked & never will. But who would convince it to Republicans.
Again not starting a war means nothing when you are continuing all of em & dropping more bombs/day than your 2 predecessor did.
Also when you were repeatedly vetoing the bill that would end US involvement in one of the wars- Yemen war & have dropped more bombs in your 4 yrs than your 2 predecessors did during their respective first terms.
Trump loved bombing people even more than Obama did. At least Obama didn't advocated killing the family members of "terrorists". So this whole war abhorrence of Trump is nonsense. There's only one war abhorrent president in last 90 yrs, who didn't drop a single bomb or fired a bullet, it was Carter, no one else.

And mullahs in return betrayed him. This is what he is angry about. His fury is not about not being able to release the hostages it’s about mullahs’ betrayal. Because he knew Soviet Union is watching US military hostage rescue operation that eventually shot down the helicopters in Tabas desert at a very critical moment and forced the US forces to retreat.

Carter had the most moral fiber of any president, he cared deeply for the poor, and was idealistic. but he largely lacked the cut throat attitude or the political coopration to get polices pased. He needed an enforcer and a a diplomatic to get Congress on his side and Reagan was arguably the best president of the last 40 years at getting the other side to do what he wanted, either with favors or even with verbal juijtisu. During his reelection his opponent said he knew he'd lost the debate and the election when he tried sublimity mock Reagan for his age and Reagan replied instantly with "I wont make age a part of my campaign, I wont hold my opponents inexperience against him" and not only did the crowd laughed, his opponent did too. Carter couldrein in some of Reagans less moral tendencies but he needed a skilled negotatior and orator both to keep the party in line but also deal with foreign matters.

So if you go back over our history, or the history of the world for that matter, it's the same old, same old. Nobody can live within their means and ends up in crazy debt, and it destroys them.

Shah was a US ally, and the country speeding towards progress. Iran was not far from becoming industrialised. Much like what south Korea has become now, only with much more potential.
The mistakes in policies leading to this disaster were designed by US and GB, too much trust had been put on these powers from shahs side. For 10-15 years, the mullahs were let loose into the population, having a monopoly on freedom of speech, spreading Shia ideology only as a force against communism, to fight the east. (because religion is not compatible with communism, right?) while any other political activity was completely banned. Islamic ideology wearing a sheep costume, with no other political competition and the fact that Iranian people were easy to manipulate (developing country), the rest is obvious. This worked against the shah, the people of Iran, The entire middle east and the whole world.
is there any blame on the US?
Iran had a democratically elected prime minister 1951-53 before US orchestrated a coup and overthrew his gov. They put the shah back in power. Later they realised the shah was getting too powerful, and would eventually disobey... and he did, when he raised the oil prices and was leading the OPEC... and much more conflict of interest that could come later. So they saw the opportunity and supported Khomeini, otherwise the bastard could never had gained power.

Symbolically speaking, it was an act of revenge for the coup in 1953. According to the motto: you overthrow our government, we will occupy your embassy. Without the coup, we would have had a democracy in Iran. It was the worst interference in the history of the Middle East and responsible for the radicalization of Iranian intellectuals.
The occupation of the embassy was an illegal act of violence, but I can understand the anger towards the American government and the mistrust on an emotional level. Carter even let his allies abandon the Shah. You simply cannot trust the USA. Every chance of reaching an agreement with the mullahs was also messed up by subsequent US presidents. Trump canceled the nuclear deal. As an Iranian, I criticize the Islamic Republic and all the misery that has been brought upon our people is unjustifiable. Mullahs are corrupt and criminal. I can only understand them on one point: absolute mistrust of the US administration. It doesn't want anything good for Iran.

    • @ShapurTheLegend
      @ShapurTheLegend 6 дней назад

That is why I think that even if Iran's government collapses, the US and the West will always keep Iran as the antagonist and boogeyman of the region. And new radicals will rise and maintain Iran's stance.
When the USSR dissolved, everyone expected world peace. But NATO always made moves against Russia and now is at war with Russia. We are seeing a similar fractal of history unfold. We are in the twilight era of the Islamic republic and it will eventually dissolve when the original revolutionaries die of old age.
What comes after will be similar to the USSR, the rise of Reformists who want to make deals with the West and award themselves the Western trade contracts to become a new oligarch class.
This corruption that the mullahs have will not end with the next regime. Iranian desire for freedom and democracy is a facade and psyop. Iranians need to improve their consciousness and willingly choose to not be corrupt.
If Iranians themselves, from all echelons of society, can resist the human urge of corruption then we can become a respectable and functional country and people.
But our consciousness is so low brained that we are inclined to be corrupt, cheating, envious people. Zoroaster taught us to be honest and that is what we need to stop corruption.
Otherwise the next ruling class will stay corrupt, brutal and incompetent. The same story repeats, whether the ruler has a crown, a turban or wears a suit. Alternatively, the IRGC will coup and take power.
Iranian people need to raise their consciousness. We are undeserving of the "freedom" we seek because we lack virtue in on itself. We have many great qualities but currently, virtue isn't one of them. And Islam evidently failed to teach us this virtue because the muslim rulers lack it themselves.
One thing is certain, the USA and Israel are like the Macedonian, Mongol and Arab conquerors more than anything. They seek domination, not liberation of our people. I understand some Iranians are so desperate that they have become extreme and even welcome a foreign invasion, even if that means Iran gets annexed and Balkanised. But these people are delusional Nazi extremists akin to MEK.
Cyrus kneeled to no one. And we never kneeled to Rome in history either. Submitting to the West disgraces our ancestors who resisted genocide.
It is possible we are seeing Hegelian dialectics play out. With the Qajar/Pahlavi era being the thesis (submission and openness to the West), the Islamic rule being the antithesis (traditionalist, anti-imperial). The synthesis of the two approaches could fuse into a blend of being open to trading with the West, without submitting to their authority. But this requires ceding our nuclear programme.
I personally think Iran should have nuclear energy and even weapons to ensure it cannot be invaded. Our neighbours are thirsty for Iranian blood. But Iran needs to accept that Israel cannot be defeated without Iran being destroyed in the process. Israel is objectively a colonial entity but Iran must outlive Israel and prepare for the next hundreds of years in the future. We have environmental crisis, running out of water, energy crisis, low birth rate, demographic issues and our oil and gas is finite.

Since his betrayal to our King in Iran substituting him with mullahs, Middle East never saw even a single day without bloodshed. It even cost The US in its own land at least in one occasion as 911, needless to say how many soldiers were died in Afghanistan and elsewhere in the world since then. it even cost US financially even now as we speak billions of dollar each years guarding Persian Gulf to protect their energy supply.

The hostage crisis was just one of many problems for Jimmy Carter. I remember standing in line with my dad for 2 hours waiting for gas. I also remember the high unemployment and inflation. They termed it the Misery Index which was the unemployment rate and inflation rate added together. It was well over 20%. He was a DISASTER and I take issue with him saying he would have been re-elected if he had rescued the hostages. I don't think so. Maybe today he would have because this country is so flooded with 3rd world immigrants who vote democrat no matter what, but not then.

We were fully Trained and on our way one day on C-130's !!!
I know this all to well from Nov 10th through Dec 12 we had been in through Intensive desert training at Ft Erwin as the 3rd Brigade Task Force. Awesome multinational Military US forces combined Training for the IRAN CRISIS !
IT WAS SPECTACULAR what all I saw during the whole thing !
We had US Air Forces A10 Wart Hogs, C-130's, B-52's dropping bombs in the Valley floor that was truly spectacular visual on the whole event and their fly over us way up high over the Peak just barely above us zooming by us waiving back at us one by one and then the reports of the Bombs dropping was amazing as the earth shook below our feet feeling the after effects of tons & Tons of Bombs being dropped.
Then the CIC called us to duty one day suddenly and when we were trucked back to the Base we saw all the C-130's waiting on us to get packed up to leave for the war in IRAN ! ! !
We were thus also given a short period time to call up loved ones for we were indeed leaving ! I remember it all too well and I could not get an answer to my wife at home at Ft. Carson, Colorado so I called my father & Shared with him whats happening ! I i failed to come home alive that he see;s to make sure my family is doing fine.
That was one hell of a day ! ! !
It indeed was called off later eve while in flight to S. Carolina where we would departure for an un declassed country near the Iran.
Its really Awesome when the flight is called off and you feel the C130 making a hard left turn back. CONFIRMATION ! ! Its an Awesome feeling !

This is most heart felt in my soul what you shared here. It was a privilege to give 12 years my life as a soldier even though I was a better soldier of Gods love then a Soldier of War. But, I did both and it helped me to need Gods love through it the more ! Being a husband & father learned me even more :-) Indeed life as a soldier is a tough one !
Even a fellow soldier can be as vicious as a real front line enemy at times too. Yes my blood was shed, but God used it that they would change what got into them that was evil. I had to learn to ask God to forgive me the hate I felt towards them first and then forgive the persons even in person. It was heart felt to see another humble themselves asking for forgiveness. Of course I forgave them. The toughest thing I ever faced was my enemy forgiving them !
Not some thing we soldiers can do on the real battle field. I was a Vietnam era trained soldier Jul73. But got to S. Korea just as the last of the troops leaving Vietnam. Yet their i was with CIA in military Uniform on the Army's Greatest kept secret back then.4th USA ARMY MISSILE COMMAND just South of The DMZ between N & South Korea's. To understand it you can go to a video called Jesus IS Just Alright, by the Doobie brothers music. Below where I talk to share my experience their you can get a realistic since of what little we have to look forward to after we had to shoot some missiles up to N. Korea back then to keep them from coming down again since the war was never terminated from the Korean war. That was the one experience I share for others to understand how precious life is and as well to be ready to go home to heaven any given second. Jesus is just alright was the music I was learning from back then about Gods love. I also had a child hood death Experience I never shared with my parents too that was seeds for me to remember by :-) Thank you again as you're heart is pure of Gods love in you Holy Spirit with you :-) Amen...
