+chuttlely Thanks. It was quite an old metro stock train and I found it interesting. We have buttons to push in the UK or most of the time the doors open automatically anyway.

Hello, I am a Barcelonian railfan.
Until the Eighties, in Barcelona Metro old rolling stock trains run with a Metro worker who open and closed doors in every station. New rolling stock were equipped with hand open doors, and subsequently no more workers were needed. Additionally, hand open doors save a lot of maintenance respect automatic doors, who open all in all stations, hand doors only open when if necessary.
