How this discussion ties into the Geoffrey Farmer" Let's make the water turn black art exhibition isn't exactly made clear here, at least not to me. The presenters should have provided viewers of this video with some perspective, i.e., this is what the exhibition looks like and what it means. That said, I find it ironic that these academics put so much effort into trying to define Frank Zappa and his work, when Frank made it look so easy. Nonetheless, I'm glad they did do the work - it's high time the greatest composer possibly of all time becomes more well known, better understood, and even referred to as a the standard to which we should all seek.
I love seeing Frank receive the acclaim he deserves from the " serious music " portion of academia ,sadly American music academia will teach future generations about lady gaga instead of Frank Zappa.
A sound perfect guy like Frank Zappa, I don`t know? Would he agree with sound interuptions like in this vid, on his subject`s and his music? I think he`d say 'if you do anything do it the best way you can."
to the person responsible of this abomination of recording quality, I would reply with a Zappa title: "Drop Dead". Otherwise, very thought provoking and educating thesis
terrypussypower amen ,I'm 72 and followed every line up of the Mothers ,then made sure to follow Frank as a solo artist ,nothing about early Mothers of Invention albums was psychedelic as is implied , Frank wrote about what he saw happening and socio political events that went right over most people's heads .
Well that finally clears everything up.
Jeez, I wish I could listen to this!

The sound keeps cutting out.
THE BIG NOTE
Frank seemed to go out of his way to force his audience to confront simultaneous realities that make us uncomfortable.
MORE LIKE GODEL
I hate when people read names wrong. It's not Vaklav Havel, but Vaclav, 'c' is always read as 'ts' in czech..
That's called Anglicized pronunciation
@@weebgrinder-AIArtistPro I know. But this example is extremely bad.
@@mrkv4k haha yeah
I don't know what they're talking about.

Like Pink Floyd and others, Zappa messed with the heads of drunks and stoners. The age of music to take drugs by. that's why it's called psychedelic.
Zappa "messing with the heads of drunks and stoners" was by default NOT design. Zappa wrote entirely for himself and no one else.

what a load of bull
:)
Huh? The introduction is horrible. I admire Zappa, but I think he would cringe if he heard the First Speaker.
