    Thank you! You and your brother are the reason I got into triathlon. Your Olympic wins and you helping your brother in the one race where he collapsed is the reason you'll always be one of the greatest sportsmen of all time.

    GOAT in the short course format / super competitive and driven guy. At the same time, helping his brother cross the line showed a lot about him and his values. Best wishes for a happy future!👍

    Absolutely gutted as he’s finally figured out the balance to race T100 and I was excited to see what he’d do next year.
    But i guess he knows he’s not realistically fighting for the win, and for an athlete of his calibre and achievements anything less is not worth it. He has nothing more to prove.
    But i still think he has a few more years in him. He finished 5th in the series despite so many blow-ups, but he also competed in every race.
    If he was more selective next year, with all the experience he has from this year, he could definitely challenge for top three in the series.
    Please Ali, one more year!

    Unfortunately I think this is the right decision for him. The injuries and illness that have kept him from his best this year have been hard to watch, especially given the dominance he showed on the WTCS for many years. An absolute legend of the sport who will be missed. I’m sure there are many pro’s out there breathing a sigh of relief that he won’t be hurting them on the bike course anymore. I just hope he now inspires the next great Brit to fill his enormous shoes, someone who can be inspired to beat his records. Thank you Alistair for the many years of enjoy and entertainment you have brought us British amateur triathletes.

    The Brownlees were the reason after 2012 I took up the sport. Love the rollercoaster ride with both the brothers. I’d be a lot richer had I not taken up the sport 😂 but wouldn’t change anything. Happy retirement Champ 🥇🥇

    Watched Ali from Lausanne 2006 and his junior world title till T100 in Dubai. In my opinion the most dominant triathlete ever. Winning 2 olympic gold medals is unbelivable but possible to achive. Winning 22 WTCS races with less than 30 starts shows how dominant Alistair was. My favourite Ali wins were races when he was injury free. WTCS Leeds 2016, WTCS Stockholm 2016, WTCS Stockholm 2013, WTCS Madrid 2009, WTCS Budapest 2010, WTCS Kitzbula 2012, WTCS Kitzbula 2013. I never saw an athlete that could do what Alistair did on those days. Enjoy your retirament champ

    I was winding down my meager ITU career when Alistair was coming up, and for my money he's the best all around triathlete ever. He's so good at all three of the sports and at his peak there just wasn't a way you could beat him. He could swim with the leaders, so would always make the lead pack. He was incredible strong on the bike, so you were very unlikely to drop him or get away. And then he was obviously the best runner out there.

      Beim Lesen solcher Kommentare frage ich mich manchmal, was den Verfassenden bewegt, oder motiviert, Negativität proaktiv (mit)zu teilen... - Einen Menschen bpsw. nicht leiden zu können ist völlig i.O. und liegt ggf. in der Natur des Menschseins, dies jedoch in derartiger Form zu kommunizieren entbehrt jeglicher Positivität und/oder Sinnhaftigkeit. Insbesondere, wenn es um Sportliches...besser gesagt "unseren" wundervollen Sport geht. Vielleicht regen meine Worte einwenig zum Nachdenken an. In ihnen steckt nichts Denunzierendes. Sportliche Grüße für einen guten Abend.😊

    Question for Ali: The Brownlee Foundation claims to be "fully inclusive", would you support trans athletes wanting to participate and compete in triathlon, given the plethora of misinformation and hate being platformed about them? Latest Olympic study back trans athletes and states they have no unfair advantage and are actually at a disadvantage compared to their cis counterparts.

    • @TheTrailRabbit
      @TheTrailRabbit Месяц назад +7

      Uhhhh this isn't a Q&A and your question has absolutely nothing to do with the interview or Alistair??? Bizarre comment.

    • @someonelastname8175
      @someonelastname8175 Месяц назад

      @@TheTrailRabbit If he's going to promote a foundation as "fully inclusive" it should be just that. Given the current climate of hate towards an innocent minority, women & kids included, who are now baselessly banned from playing sport in the UK, specifically triathlon, it's a VERY valid question. If it bugs you, that's called privilege!!
