Axolotl owner here! They're pretty difficult to take care of, but given what he's already done, I'd say he could probably do it. Though it does seem like he prefers to keep several live animals in one tank, which isn't ideal for axolotls. (They're extremely aggressive and can and will eat anything smaller than them, including other axos.) He definitely could if he wanted to, but if he's also keeping tabs on so many other animals, I'd say an axolotl would be unnecessary and stressful. They take up lots of space and time.
