Jenny said yes to yardage! This two-color quilt is made with Nautical Essex Yarn Dyed Linen and the 2024 Kona Cotton Color of the Year, Julep-both by Robert Kaufman Fabrics. It's a traditional old pattern featuring easy half-square triangles, 9-patch blocks, and rail fence bar blocks. (Don't miss the backing fabric; it's a new Missouri Star 110" wide color-on-color print!)

Dear MSQC, I just want to express my gratitude, not only for your excellent and inspiring tutorials, but also for the remarkable fact that you've not yet introduced commercial interruptions into them. I'm sure this is an intentional decision on your part and I don't assume it will (or can) last forever, but in a sea of commercial interruptions on YT, your videos really stand out. Thank you for holding these at bay thus far ❤ 🤗.
@@nonya.bizness They have every right to "advertise" their own products and services via their own videos, especially considering all they give us for free. To begrudge them that would just be sour grapes.
As normal you take a block that looks overwhelming and break it down to simplify the process. That's a great teacher for you. Thank you
I love Jenny doing the videos--she explains each step and why she does things--she is less intimidating than many quilt instructors and makes you want to stretch yourself. Thank you for sharing with us.
The absolute best way to make half square triangles!!!! How did I not know this????
“Missouri Star’s gots your back” Can we all just admit we watch her videos for her fun play with words!! Seriously speaking for myself I made my first quilt from watching these amazing tutorials!!! Thank you MSQC and Jenny for always making my day!
I want to second the person that said how wonderful it is not to have the horrible interruptions of other videos, I can’t tell you how many videos I turn off because of that, I love Jennys way making me think I could actually make her quilts. I have been able to do just that. Thank you Jenny with all my heart.
I love these older traditional quilt blocks! Can't wait to make this as a red and white quilt. Thank you again MSQC.
Like seeing a traditional block! And I think I would add the broader after seeing both versions. Thanks, Jenny!
Yes to more tutorials from Jenny using yardage 🎉🎉
As always Jenny has done her magic again. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fantastic for my beginner quilting friend. She knows how to do a 9 patch and HDTs and Flying geese.
Jenny you are so incredible! I look forward to my Friday morning treat every week. I thank you so much.
Always nice to listen and watch your sew.
What a beautiful quilt. The color possibilities are endless! Thanks for another great tutorial. It looks easy to make since you broke the block down into sections. ❤
Jenny you did it again!! You took a beautiful block with simple colors and crushed it! You're the best!! Cheers! ~M
I did a Missouri Puzzle wallhanging a couple of years ago for a two fabric challenge at my local shop. It was one HUGE block with some borders. It was a fun quilt to make!
I loved the first time you made this, but the Julep and blue is so tranquil, that it is now my favorite. I love the remakes.
I love a 2-colour quilt. You make it look easy, Jenny, thank you! And thanks for showing us this “new” antique block/quilt pattern, I’m thinking of who would like this design on my list of future quilt recipients. 😊
Thanks! I learned something new today! I didn’t know the technique of making HSTs with a strip tube. I love this pattern.
I love love love the new Kona color of the year!! I have some and a jelly roll I bought!!
Love it
Absolutely Beautiful!!
I do love the Missouri Puzzle block. Am currently working on a large quilt that combines it with another vintage block. Finished the quilt top years ago & decided in a moment of temporary insanity that those vintage blocks wanted to be hand quilted. Have been working on it off & on for about 10 years now (way more off than on) and am finally getting it close to done. Hope to finish it this summer. I live in a tiny home so don’t have room to lay out that big king size quilt so I usually work on it in the summers when I’m camping in the mountains and have a nice big picnic table for a work surface. It’s going to have lots of memories of wind in the pines, birds and squirrels, campfires etc.
I can relate! Started a grandmother’s fan quilt back in the 1980s, lol, and was doing it by hand because that’s how the teacher taught me to do it! And it was really enjoyable! But, of course, being that it was my first quilt, and all, I had to make a KING size because that was the size of my of my bed at the time! So I never have quilted it yet. You are not alone! 😂🤣😆🙃
@@susanmei9980 just go ahead and start it. You’ll never finish it if you don’t start! I love hand quilting but most of the time my quilts get the machine treatment just because they need to be able to hold up to the abuse of everyday living. My hand quilting is saved for special quilts.
Thanks for breaking down that beautiful quilt into doable pieces.
I love it and the colors - thanks Jenny
These are just beautiful colors and the pattern is wonderful! Just love Friday because I love to see what Jenny quilted, I wake up and think TGIF @ MSQ

And I love how you "always have our back!" 💙
Happy quilting!! 🧵
Gorgeous one block quilt!!!!!!!
One thing that’s fun to do is look at a quilt and mentally deconstruct it to figure out how it’s constructed!
What a beautiful block and fantastic quilt. Thanks Jenny.
What a beautiful quilt. I would never have thought to put those two colors together (blue/mint), but it turned out amazing. Thank you again for breaking down this block so it makes sense and is not so intimidating.

Jenny, are such a natural teacher. You remind me of my Mom who just talked all six of us through our young years. Then when we brought our children home, she did the same thing for them. 16 kids tutored through their tender youth. 🎶💐💖🫂
PS. The quilt is dynamite!!!
Liked the orange and denim more

Simply amazing every quilt I watch you do I want to make. This one is to of my list
I'm loving the Julep color & still trying to figure out what I want to make with it!!
Beautiful!
Love it. I will make this 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Beautiful quilt, so much prettier with the mint (but I really don't like orange so to each their own). Thank you for using yardage! You could also make a pretty baby quilt if you add borders. Another good way to try all those sections without taking on a huge project.
Love this. I want to make it!
