You should try turning OFF the Camera Motion Effects. Also, you aren't braking much, trying to carry too much speed into the corners. Your braking input was like 10-20%
You dont need to use a controller, you just need to tune the car and sim rig settings better. You are allowed to tune the multiplayer cars during practice sessions and before the race.

I don't drive a Honda but VW golf has brake bias to the back so i use a gentle touch of brake to rotate the car in the middle of the corner.
Your tire scrubbing is probably because of the default tune if you didn't look into that at all. Even with no upgrades you should change the tire pressures. I don't know why but on most cars the default tire pressures are at crazy settings like 41psi on the fronts.

You are struggling with corner entry understeer because you are using ABS. ABS in this game just straightens the car car severely. Without ABS, you can modulate the brakes for trail braking and tap brakes for rotation, which is especially important in the touring cars so you don't have to overdrive your fronts to turn. You don't have to slide the car, but without ABS its much easier to rotate the car and create the larger slip angles FWD cars need on corner entry. Controllers really don't have an advantage that i've seen on that. Also manual with clutch is faster than straight manual with sequentually gear race transmission cars, and you don't have to use the clutch, except at the start. edit: I realize that ABS wasn't lighting up, but it still has an affect. I noticed immediately how much easier it was to trail brake without ABS. You can brake pretty hard without locking up on high aero racecars, at least with fresh tires. It's pretty easy to feel when you lock up.
I'm not sure what every camera angle is like but if you use cockpit or the "driver" view as I believe it's called, looking left and right has you look 90 degrees to that direction. That hood view seems to be a 45 degree look which isn't too helpful. Maybe the driver view would be a better choice for awareness. Also while I agree that the proximity arrows are not the best, the 3 chevrons typically seem to indicate that you will collide with that car if you move over. While 2 and 1, chevron indicates a greater spacing and are clear. Of course the issue is that the indicators don't tell you how far or close the other car is, just that you will collide if you go too far in that direction.
people are forgetting that there isn't any public lobbies, no other game modes like drifting, individual class hoppers etc. the multiplayer feels just has half baked as the career, and is more just a sport mode but with extra races. the only reason people are hyping it so much is because they realise the rest of the game is not good so they need something to save it.
I've been sim racing 25 years and done 5 years on iRacing at a good standard and have to say this new Forza is really good fun and the physicals are a great inbetwean and the race strategy with the tyres is góod. Wait till you try one of the old 60's style F1 cars with no downforce in the rain with the wheel . It's so fun.
I have had at least 3 experiences where I was driving on a wheel (logitech g920) and I could preserve the tires longer than my friends who play on controller. I had my mediums and hards lasting at last 1.5 more laps than theirs. In one of the races that was even enough to prevent me from pitting at all. I believe you just need to adjust the driving style, breake and steer smoothly, without the tires screeching and they will last longer.
I thought Hakone looked like a trash circuit when we saw it in previews, but that "Club" variant is actually pretty great for racing. It's basically ol' switcharoo city.
My very first race, my very first lap, I got rammed into the wall by someone who very well knew what they were doing, the arrows weren’t much help either, didn’t even seem like he was trying to pass me.
So question, how is he throwing the rear end of a front wheel car out and keeping it under control? I feel like when I get her sideways, she just wants to keep going, but he was doing a great job of throwing it out just a bit and never losing control.
The first race where your tires wear out is confusing. I never got that close to my tires getting wore like that and never drifted the corners. This game is so much about goofy unrealistic tunes. And figuring out that is a puzzle itself.
Try tuning your car, there's a ridiculous amount of stuff you can change. For your poor fronts maybe increase camber and some toe by 0.1, stiffen the rear roll bar as well to create some oversteer.
"SuperErmz here," and "The guys at the Honda factory," had me in stitches. Aside, are you sure you want to leap to the ultimate sim experience with a gamepad? Honestly, I don't know if you're ready for that tier yet. I've seen your other racing content, and you might want to stick with your sim rig to get more time in the cockpit before trying to take on the big leagues with a massive £60 gamepad upgrade.
"Multiplayer is the best feature of the game." Err, that is a very low bar to clear! Rubberbanding in Multiplayer is definitely new territory for a racing game.
BTW, I'm not an youtuber or anything, but I do have a few short gameplay videos on my channel from this new forza. Check them out if you'd like to see how I drive (not saying I'm better, just drive different and have a few more hours into the game as I got addicted from day one 😂)
Now try laguna with no aero ( lowest aero settings ) and hards tires starting last place. I've been doing that every day having close battles all the time. Very rewarding when you get a win.
I don’t think controller vs wheel makes much difference in terms of tyre, although id say overall controller is easier, especially because of how much you can feel under braking with the triggers
You also have everything at your fingertips and can flutter gas and brake with a couple fingers rather than your entire legs. There's an advantage to using a controller but I'd never play without a wheel.
Maybe you should try the gamepad since it is an arcade game Ermz. Be funny if you just blow the doors off everyone playing that way. It definitely helps when you have knowledge of the track layout. You proved that in a dominant fashion at Laguna Seca.
@ermz there's something up with your look left/right bindings. For me they look 90degrees left and right which would help you a lot with the blindspots you were experiencing, have a look in the control bindings to see what you can change there
Some valid points but then also just sounds like youre gurning over nothing the proximity arrows are grand, think you just need to realise when theyre orange theyre up your hoop hahaha
Awesome video as usual my good man (just missing a Barry-Ar reference and the shadow realm)🤣🤣 . Yes, proximity arrows suck, so for the camera I would recommend remapping your "view" buttons, allowing you a segmented 360-degree view around the car. So that is (clockwise) front, front right, right, rear right, rear, rear left, left and front left. I use the driver cam and works well, (bonnet will be a problem as it is on the bonnet so looking left is not really a side shot if you get me). Try if out before you go to the dark side that is the gamepad. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is it possible to map a button to chase cam when the button is pressed, and then back to bonnet cam (or whatever you use) when you release it? Or switching between two view with the same button?

Also while I agree that the proximity arrows are not the best, the 3 chevrons typically seem to indicate that you will collide with that car if you move over. While 2 and 1, chevron indicates a greater spacing and are clear. Of course the issue is that the indicators don't tell you how far or close the other car is, just that you will collide if you go too far in that direction.
hell ye. MP is easily the most fun part of the game.
"My kingdom for a radar" had me wheezing🤣🤣🤣
people are forgetting that there isn't any public lobbies, no other game modes like drifting, individual class hoppers etc. the multiplayer feels just has half baked as the career, and is more just a sport mode but with extra races. the only reason people are hyping it so much is because they realise the rest of the game is not good so they need something to save it.
LOOOOL the first 'cardinal sin, drifting'
In loving memory of Ermz’s tires 10/15/2023
I thought Hakone looked like a trash circuit when we saw it in previews, but that "Club" variant is actually pretty great for racing. It's basically ol' switcharoo city.
Can you please make a video on how tuning in forza motorsport really works? like not based on actual reallife knowledge and function.
The puns have me 😂
Nice video
I love that you just made a superGT video
It was remarkably relaxing. I can see why he does it.
wheel/rig doesn't make you faster than controller. Just makes you more consistent
My very first race, my very first lap, I got rammed into the wall by someone who very well knew what they were doing, the arrows weren’t much help either, didn’t even seem like he was trying to pass me.
the super GT intro was great 😂
That looked extremely fun and competitive clean racing as well from your POV although who knows what the back end looked like lol
So question, how is he throwing the rear end of a front wheel car out and keeping it under control? I feel like when I get her sideways, she just wants to keep going, but he was doing a great job of throwing it out just a bit and never losing control.
The Super GT impression is great btw.
Im pretty sure the race he is in doesn't allow setups.
Not part upgrades but i think tuning stuff, i was able to change my alignment in my quali races@@Acreyman
As a rummer i just love playing this game
I felt like this when I saw the controller support in ACC.
You know what is this exciting? Touring cars and IndyCar. Also, IMSA and WEC.
So Laguna seca short is in simple terms the late 1960's through the mid 1980's layout just so you know
Love the sarcasm 😂
"Multiplayer is the best feature of the game."
Err, that is a very low bar to clear!
Rubberbanding in Multiplayer is definitely new territory for a racing game.
typical ermz, says he's taking it easy, but leaves everyone else in the dust before the first lap ends.... hahaha
Lucky to get it to work , multiplayer won’t work for me , just keeps freezing, and now today the career mode froze , and won’t save
BTW, I'm not an youtuber or anything, but I do have a few short gameplay videos on my channel from this new forza. Check them out if you'd like to see how I drive (not saying I'm better, just drive different and have a few more hours into the game as I got addicted from day one 😂)
the sarcasm is epic lol
I tried the Civic race last night and must say I absolutely loved the MP format.
Was the fov maxed? It can help with surround awareness.
Need to add way more negative camber to front and back so when you lean the car more tyre comes in to contact with the surface.
drifting through corners to be faster..
rFactor2: "sideglance meme"
Forward really does want you to use the rear tire walls for brakes
Now try laguna with no aero ( lowest aero settings ) and hards tires starting last place. I've been doing that every day having close battles all the time. Very rewarding when you get a win.
I use a wheel for online lobbies and generally do well. Also that whole power slide thing I have no clue what’s going on there lol
5:20 so Initial D was right all along hahahahah
Change the brake bias to 55 rear will help.
They weren't drifting the corners 😂 Likely their spring rates were tighter and the rear was just slide happy 😅
Digging the GT Sport menu music at the start
Why does the multiplayer limit the cars I can bring in. I upgraded my Trueno to A tier so I could use it online and it doesn’t allow me
I don’t think controller vs wheel makes much difference in terms of tyre, although id say overall controller is easier, especially because of how much you can feel under braking with the triggers
You also have everything at your fingertips and can flutter gas and brake with a couple fingers rather than your entire legs. There's an advantage to using a controller but I'd never play without a wheel.
@@Self-Delusion The only reason I haven't bought a wheel yet is because I know I'd be on it all the time
@@justamanchimp you only got the one life, may as well enjoy it!
T10 also forgot to add Moon in the skybox, lol. Try to find moon in the night in clear sky on any track.
Oh no, instant refund
Maybe you should try the gamepad since it is an arcade game Ermz. Be funny if you just blow the doors off everyone playing that way. It definitely helps when you have knowledge of the track layout. You proved that in a dominant fashion at Laguna Seca.
I actually am really enjoying this game, but this had me laughing the whole time
I'm using chase cam and the gamepad, seems to be the best option.
@ermz there's something up with your look left/right bindings. For me they look 90degrees left and right which would help you a lot with the blindspots you were experiencing, have a look in the control bindings to see what you can change there
It looks like you are not looking right and left, but right forward and left forward. Perhaps a binding issue?
Some valid points but then also just sounds like youre gurning over nothing the proximity arrows are grand, think you just need to realise when theyre orange theyre up your hoop hahaha
Nah man, you played yourself :D I tried controller - and it was harder than wheel for me :D
Brother your problem in the first race was the tune, it was genuinely painful to watch that car try and turn in.
What’s the easiest setting to adjust to counter understeer
Tune the car for more oversteer, stiffen the front sway bar?
He probably didn't its easier to complain.
@@MentalSovereignty-oi9rl well acually in the video he clearly states he did for the 2cnd race, and it improved.
Well it worked and race 2 looked pretty fun to me
I don't have any of proxy arrows, before start, I turned off all assists & mini map also
Awesome video as usual my good man (just missing a Barry-Ar reference and the shadow realm)🤣🤣 .
@@MetalGamer666 😂😂nope, but if you press the change view button quickly and close your eyes it has the same effect, plus you have reduced eye strain.
@@DJ_Asthma And when you open your eyes you are in the gravel :P
Drifting wasn't your problem it was the tire scrubbing. Need to setup your car with more turn in to avoid the scrubbing.
Thanks for the new Forza content Ermz. I’ve been enjoying your takes on the game.
