I agree ! they are my favourite as well. Hall too at lower mix levels. What I like about the onboard FX too is that they will really react to whatever processing is after.
It is something special about Sequential synths. They sound massive. Im currently saving up to the OB-6. Don't know why I specifically want it, but this is the one, that I do know
Very interesting to see your workflow, thank you! Really appreciating your channel and your sense for techno music. I would love to see a more detailed video on how you are using the DFAM live. I absolutely love mine but I am never exactly sure how to use it in a controlled way live besides using it for my kick drums. Right now I am using a Drumlogue, a 303 and the DFAM in my setup but the DFAM still needs to find its final role somehow...
Yes ! After I found the sequencer I also saw you were a user ! what a wonderful bit of software. I keep it pretty simple but even then there are so many options for cool little grooves.
Great video, thanks! I have an OB6 for several month, found it really nice as a source material for resampling and transposing hard to get some more unusual sounds with good character
@@LucasMarchal After working with computers all day I can't bear to look at a screen - even for plugins. But the Hapax has been great for sequencing with my OB-6 - gets pretty close to what you have with the VST here.

thank you, appreciate it ! It's fun to try different FX, plug ins etc... processing is fun, and the OB6 is a beautiful tone to build upon. Doesn't hurt that it sounds great on its own too.
Thanks for the inspiration to pull out my Rev2 again which I almost sold to discover, with a good sequencer, its worth integrating into my setup. For purposes of keeping everything in the same timing I'm using the Octatrack but with the velocity and 2nd and 3rd notes its giving me some dissonant sequences.
@@LucasMarchal I know 😊 I check your stuff on Instagram all the time. But Instagram as a platform is totally ephemeral. You might get less views here on RUclips, but in the long run these will be the videos that people will still watch in years to come. I still regularly watch old stuff of yours on YT (and unlike Insta, it’s not a total pain in the ass to find the old stuff).
One of the best videos from You. I love it :) I have got a question regarding sync. When you are triggering OB-6 notes from steppic it's easy and usually is in the grid. How do You send clock to DFAM?
@LucasMarchal Me too but recording audio through SSL Big Six mixer I have 3 ms latency and I can feel the bass doesn't fit the groove so precise like making bass inside ableton.
Lucas, I bought the Prophet 6 and ended up buying the Arturia Keystep pro to sequence it, very immediate and easy to use, great also with chords, the ARP works well too for techno melodies, but it's interesting to see this Stepic sequencer opposed to a hardware sequencer with the OB-6, P.S i bought the Sequence Selector from you off MG, its a great edition to the multistage. All the best!
great insight! Have to check that sequencer! Recently I sequenced my p6 with the digitone keys. Fun part is to send midi lfos to both filters and tweek the filter envelope amount. Should work on the ob6 too :). I think you are right, biggest difference are the different filters on both. But both sound like huge (techno maschines)! But the p6 envelopes are a bit clicky at fast attack. How is the ob6 with fast attacks on the amp attack?
now the question..Ob6 or OB-teo5..waiting for reviews between this two great gears..Ive been watching this video more than 20 times.Very good combination with Moog dam ,RE909 and modular synth. Thanks a lot like always.
Awesome video, thanks for a glimpse into your process. Have you tried the Squarp Hapax sequencer? It's the first hardware sequencer I actually like. It's very powerful yet really easy to use. No learning curve at all and very hands-on.
I've checked it but when i got the OB6 I wasn't ready to sink an additional 1K into a powerhouse sequencer... Maybe one day i'll try something hardware. Torso T1 seems interesting too.
i saw you use the sequencer in the advent calender videos and was amazed. I tried it within Studio One but its not sending the notes to my synths for some reason. Really frustrating as you show again in this video how amazing the sequencer is! (and the ob6 ofcourse)
Hi Lucas love you for doing online class with us :--). Would be sick if you could do a 909 Overstayer processing video one day. I have this very short spring reverb and it is adding a lot of good things to my lowend... Somehow it is very tight just Amazing room and sub bass and that goes into OTO Boom. I'll send you an Audio if you're interested.
Ah yes small reverb can really work well on the low end ! I've been running the 909 into the eclipse with good results too ! I'll try to do the 909 into overstayer soon :)

They sound a bit different. The filters are really different. Not to say you can't make great bass sounds on the OB6, I just like the DFAM for this purpose.
the spring reberb + bbdelay are actually super great sounding on my opinion, use them all the time
