      @@ItsCrochetOClock I have seen a few people call this a "double" magic circle....Are you doing something different than a traditional magic ring, then double crochet? Your method looks a little different than I use for the magic ring, but the result looks to be the same to me, so I'm just making sure using my method for "getting" the ring formed isn't different than what you're teaching. :)

      @@angelaprosinski594 It is a double magic circle. I make double magic circles because sometimes as time passes and projects are tugged and pulled on the yarn will give and break and then your project unravels from the center. I work a double magic ring to give it more stability. I've never had a double magic ring break on me but have had regular magic rings break. After having to mend too many times from the wrong side once they begin unraveling I said never again!

      @@ItsCrochetOClock Thanks, I will pay a little more attention to the video during that section when I get home to get started! I only have a 6.5mm hook here at the office, so my bag of yarn is just taunting me until I get home!!!!!

    I am three weeks behind the times here - but wanted to get started on this....Should we use the typical 'rule' and adjust the hook size to the yarn we fall in love with, or would you suggest using the 4mm (I am going with Caron Simply Soft, so it is a 5mm hook yarn anyway, so not a huge difference). But I crochet pretty tight, so I normally go up a mm from the yarn label, so essentially I would be using a 6mm.....Thoughts on best outcome? THANKS SO MUCH - this is my very first CAL, and these first few weeks have me 'hooked' to the point that I am looking past the scary, more complex stitches that appear to be coming soon!

    • @ItsCrochetOClock
      @ItsCrochetOClock  5 лет назад

      You should adjust your hook size for the yarn you choose. A 4mm with CSS will be too small. Your blanket will be bigger than mine because of the weight difference in the yarn but thats okay. Don't worry about the more complicated stitches coming. I'll be with you the whole way and you can always ask for help if you're confused in the Facebook group as well.

    I was hoping it would. I have about 4 projects that I’m working on, however, the most important one is the “Gypsy Queen Shawl from Pippin Poppycock that you showed last month, I believe. I’m making it in Natural crochet thread #0 lace. It is so beautiful I absolutely love love love it. As soon as I saw your tutorial I knew I was going to make it. I am going slow as my eyes get tired easily. I’ve already had so many compliments on it. I hope to have it done in time for my birthday in Dec, I’ll be 77. Thank you Steph.

    I like to watch you, but I struggle to hear you, when your not crocheting, I can hear you well, but when you start crocheting, the volume drops so much I cannot hear you, I have 2 hearing aids, they are full volume, my computer is full volume, at first I thought it was just me, but the same thing has happened in all CAL that you have done videos for, I see others are struggling to hear aswell, I am not saying this to be mean or anything like that at all, as I said I like to watch you, I like your videos, but many times the sound I struggle to hear :(
