what plater profile do you use?
I know this expansion is supposed to be more player friendly than previous expansions, but damn it is hard to know where to start. I haven’t played since launch, and logging back in to Valdrakken with what seems like 100 quest icons with no real explanation is pretty overwhelming. Not to mention, the MSQ seems to be very disjointed. I got one character to 70 on launch, but going back and trying to level another character is just weird. You get to like 67-68 and the storyline just seems to end after helping Kalecgos. The game does give you new MSQs to work on but they feel like they’re not related. Maybe I’m just dumb.
agree this is way too complicated, I like to know I'm making efficient progress but I can't unless I study all of this - and I'm not doing that because I want to have fun playing a game, not WORK.
Yeah, I really just don't get it. It simply isn't clear whatsoever what all the objectives are, what I should be doing, what I even can be doing. None of it makes sense and despite the apparent lack of currencies, it feels just like the old days where there actually was currencies without end. I quit within the first 3 weeks of DF because it felt pretty grindy and slow, and now it just seems entirely overwhelming.
Edit: Of fucking course I rejoin when the emerald dream is "awakened", and once again it is just a research headache on how to get there.

Once you reach the level where Drake's crests are no longer useful in any of your slots, you can convert 90 of them into 15 Wyrm's crests, so that's another decent source of the latter for outdoor world players. You can technically do the same with Wyrm's and Aspects crests, but it would take forever to get a useful amount.
where do you convert them?

Previously it felt like Flightstones were just am abundent resource, I was always capped out and had to burn them somehow. This season feels the opposite.
i have a load of crests and very few flightstones wish i could trade in Dragon Isles Supplies for them i have over 40k of them
I started doing world quests for flightstones 😭😂 (haven’t done wq since bfa)

it takes a bit more effort, but still just as plentiful.
It’s only cause we’re at the start of a gearing cycle, I think 2-3 weeks from now we’ll all be capped again

Being a returning player to retail i can say this is very overwhelming. When I logged in I was so confused on what to do. This wasn't particularly helpful.
Trust me its confusing to me and ive been playing since the crests were implemented.
well tbh you should have returned sooner, you kinda set yourself up for confusion as you're in no way used to how things have changed, which you would've been had you checked in at the start.
@@UltimateGamerCC Your response is a bit confusing. I played Dragonflight through season 2 and have multiple max level toons. It has changed so much and had so many added currencies since then that it is overwhelming. "You should have returned sooner"...wow

i've never even gone to college and i figured this out in minutes, the Flightstones are the BASE Currency, the Crests are the replacement for M+ Rating.
Whelpling Crests come from World Content and Heroic Dungeons.
Drake Crests come from M-ZERO Dungeons
Wyrm Crests come from +2 Dungeons
Aspect Crests come from +5 and up.
you take Flightstones and the appropriate Currency to upgrade your gear, the Item Upgrader NPC will literally tell you what you need to upgrade when you hover over the icons.
@@mmbabineaux we've had flight stones and crests since s2, what exactly has you overwhelmed? I stopped playing mid s2 & returned during s3. I fail to understand the confusion. Acquire gear, upgrade it, repeat.
Dont forget there is a vendor right next to the AH in Valdrakken that you can exchange Whelpling Crest for Drake, Drake for Wyrm, and Wyrm for Aspect.

So far I am spending bullions on BiS weapons, and 2 trinkets, after that I am getting the appearances I am missing. At the moment I have a hunter up to 492, and then a paladin, druid, warrior, shaman, evoker, who are all 480-485. Still working on my priest, mage, DK, lok, monk, DH, and rog, lowest is sitting at 464, but a few of them I didn't do week 1. So nice that you can get last weeks bullions drop and crafted thing as well. Everyone minus my hunter is just casual alts.
I've been gearing up characters to get the Bollion for transmogs, and this week has been a big boon. Between the Dreamsurge event, the weekly quest, the Loam Niffin weekly quest and the Time Rift event, I geared up 4 characters so far from sub 400 to LFR level gear in a few hours.
yeah, it's not hard to get going, which i very much appreciate about Season 4
One reason why I can’t wait for the next expansion and enjoy the game with delves. I have no time to wait queueing for mythic dungeons.

You can get around this very easily by listing your own keys.
As a DPS it takes me max 10mins to form a group.
As a tank it takes me 2 - 5mins max (I suspect it's around the same for healers too).
@@jani14jani yes, this is true, but it doesnt change the fact that you have to sit on your hands as you wait, literally unable to do jack shit but wait at the entrance of the instance.
@@UltimateGamerCC if this 3-5 minute wait is really a dealbreaker for you timewise (to start a 20 minute dungeon run) then you really have no business playing an mmorpg or caring about your gear. all in all this is a much more time efficient way to gear up anyway
@@todoz11 i'm doing it sunshine, but if an MMO is partially sitting on your thumbs doing fuck-all, then yeah maybe they never were my thing. but i'm not going anywhere after 19 years almost, i'm down for the long haul.
Nearly every gear up level guide for open world content or solo play ends up in dungeons in the first five minutes. 😅
that's how it goes, unless you're doing the Crafting path, 502 is the base max for S4 Sparks and a Drake's Awakened Crest will bump that to 515, just do accept that you'll be progressing far slower.

@@zackcarn3793 yeah no other way unfortunately, but for those who dont feel it's worth it, they can still get a chance to obtain 515 gear during the Prepatch, which is how the majority of my toons will be geared.

Last week was pretty nuts for gearing as we had timewalking up as well
The problem is alot of this stuff has been bugged and doesn't always drop 480 gear or even the reward box at the end. Week 1 I didn't even get the 493 a one took after completing the weekly
Blizz has made gearing up so complicated. Thank you for laying it out for us. I'm of the mind that I'll just wait for the War Within to gear up and save myself the headache for gear that will be useless in a few months.. just like legendaries that sit in my bank, sigh.

what a defeatist mindset, it's not complicated, you just cant buy BiS. well, better get used to it, because Blizz doesnt care for your laziness. you want gear you have to put in effort, otherwise squirm like a worm on a hook as you cant even solo a rare.
It's going to be exactly the same in War Within and every season that gear will become obsolete. Put in the effort, learn & improve. Not that hard.

Jesus the last time I touch retail was when I was hardcore back in legion but now this everything is too new to me and all those WORK just to get those currencies is crazy!
Haven't played since last summer...did i miss too much stuff? And am i gonna catch up fast at the latest stuff? I thought if playing till war within releases
Haven't played since df started came back for remix then lvld a new druid for the new forms and all these currencies are melting my brain after just needing bronze in remix.
I just came back to the game for the first time since shadowlands. Hopped into LFR last week and we wiped multiple times on multiple bosses. Lol
just cause you can hop into LFR doesnt mean that it is brainless.
If you're undergeared or a returning player that isnt familiar with the raids yet I'd recommend running LFR on Tuesday. A lot of higher geared players will run to get their Bullion quickly for the week so its a very fast clear.

anyone who is gearing alts - just make "Fresh - oneshot" normal raid - invite ppl above 490il and get some free loot ( you don't even have to know the strat - just make sure you make groups for some bosses)

lol we joined one of these heroics and 3 bosses in we realized his level was so low and was doing no damage so we all reformed without them, they had a bad and snarky attitude throughout also

I feel like Im missing something with Drake Crests, I did all the events last week and this week and still havent capped. Last season I was able to cap from just planting seeds in Emerald Dream, but that doesnt seem to work anymore in S4. Is there any world content that is spamable for Drake Crests?
There isn't any repeatable content for Drake crests. All of the weekly missions give you drake, all the Mythic 0 dungeons and all the Normal Raid bosses. There is another way to get drake crests, which is to upgrade Whelpling crests to Drake crests (6->1 ratio) and downgrade Wyrm crests to Drake crests (1->1 ratio).

@@rogersmith7808 I believe you have to have all your gear slots > 489 with season 4 gear before that option appears on the vendor.

you wont be able to cap your Drakes without Group Content sadly, you can get close but with the max rising each week, you're gonna be coming up short, as the road to BiS has been shortened greatly compared to S3 and S1 of TWW promises to be no different.
Runetotem is not giving crests when collecting the green orbs. Bugged?
The Dreamsurge Zone does not drop whelping crests in those little green clouds anymore... i have tried and tried and tried on multiple toons... they do not drop crests anymore.

The dreamsurge green orbs don't give whelpling crests anymore. The little tree treasures still do though but they are harder to find and a bit more rare.
They do as of now, 2 crests per green orb. They didn't on the first week but this seems to have been fixed now.
@@marycharlesworth9694 I have been collecting the green orbs on 6+ toons now for the "collect 100" quest and haven't gotten a single one yet this week. I have only gotten the crests from the little plant treasures. I have been doing the collect 100 quest on my toons that were barely LFR geared from the last two seasons lol

Any reason the Awakened Vendor doesn't have Ashes of the Embersoul? Find it weird it wasn't included.
Good stuff. I also run raids normal to heroic as they are easy af. The main issue I had with this game is all the hidden mechanics and vendors for stuff that would improve my items but I had to get a degree in order to know earlier. This game is so bad at showing what players could do. Whats really missing is a better version of the adventure guide but with everything you could do not the bs they show now.
Oh, here is where I'm a bit confused. May 7th we're dumping all the current content for new content they are piling on. Your video seems to suggest that by this time next week a person isn't going to have enough time in the day to do all the content and upgrade one's equipment. So really - where should our attention really be focused? What kind of gear is going to be available with the new content? Especially if I read this correctly that you have to roll a new character to do the new content? Is that right? This is feeling a bit f..ked up yeah?
There's two different content. The Darkheart stuff that does the leadup to War Within which is part of this gearing.
The thing that has a new char is the Pandaria Remix which is alternative content to DF. The characters in the Remix can be used as regular characters in War Within. It's probably going to be 3-5 months until the new expac so the Remix is something to do if you're bored with DF and don't want to play Classic.
May 7th is only Story Content with the 16th opening a new event for new level 10 characters. this will not affect the Season 4 gearing path whatsoever.
i personally am only gearing my main and maybe my Tanks, my focus will be on Mists Remix and since the event is a temporary one, it should be your focus as well.
As a new to DF (returning player) this is a bit confusing.

perhaps dont come back at the end of the expansion then, the game has improved in many ways since you've been absent.
Too bad all of the gear we got on week one before Friday is unable to go in the catalyst. They fixed it but didn't retroactivate the hot fix for gear already obtained.

Play the game for more than five minutes and suddenly it makes perfect sense.

. Nope, I took a FRESH ALT WITH ZERO CRESTS into the Dreamsurge zone with the very thought of rounding up crests to make 486 gear.... all I got was Dreamsurge coalesce... not a single crest.

Oddly, I am short on drake crests. I capped whelpling from outdoor content and wyrm from M+, but I am 30 short of the cap for drakes. I need them to upgrade my gear!
This week: Rift starts on the hour, ALWAYS. Finish, go to Zaralek for researchers on the half hour, ALWAYS. Takes 12-20 mins iirc to do researchers. Go to dragon zone to loot chest. If at 0 shards, takes at least 15 mins if busy server much longer if not. So for 1 LAST HURRAH on 1 toon, it took at least 1 hr. Alt friendly? nah. In fact it's the opposite of alt friendly and they are just smoke screening us with war bands. It wont get any quicker to gear alt #5 than it ever has. The irony is, they are leaning into alt creation starting in 10.2.7 with the panda leveling zone. they WANT u to have alts so the can time sink u into gearing them :) If you play 1 toon..YAY!!! if u have an army.....whats the point? Oh and PS...on alt 5 u have a VERY good chance of getting duplicate gear, meaning the time u spent was utterly wasted!

My problem is getting enough flightstones. I run out of them every week just upgrading 1 or 2 pieces
that is by design, they dont want you maxing out in a single week, whether gearing through crafting or PVE, the process is equally long.
Im capped out on them but granted i spam mplus constantly
I am a reasonably well geared hunter. If any mail wearers need help getting a couple of dungeons done, I can help. I would ideally prefer to help people who enjoy that content and are trying to improve their skills. I am not looking for anything in return.
i cant get drake crests from the world quests in dream emerald
The ‘when time needs mending’ quest which rewards a higher level piece of gear isn’t available on all my alts for doing time rift.
i wouldnt worry about it, Time Warp is just for the Weekly in Valdrakken, so you can get your weekly Champion piece.
Guys it doesn’t matter because when a new expansion comes out all your epics become green
this is false and dumbly speculated, i came into Dragonflight with 252 Epics and i didnt have to replace anything until i hit 65, literally able to coast the first half of the campaign. this will be NO different, so if you want to worry about gear right out the gate then by all means keep believing that it doesnt matter, i'll be soloing rares while you die to 2-3 mob pulls. :P

Pretty sure you don't get crests by flying through the dreamsurge green glowing coalescence; you did last season, but not this season
you do get whelpling crests until the cap
If you're collecting coalescence with a character below level 70 you will not get crests. At 70 the orbs and flowers will give 2 crests each up to the current weekly cap.
Gearing is like another game. I really hope they fix this in TWW.
i tried to put my veteran and champion gear in the catalyst and it wasn't working. it seems to only work with hero and above unless im doing something wrong.
You might not have any charges left.

I was gonna gear up my druid for prepatch, but this is way too damn complicated and my server is too dead for the world quest. I guess I'll just PVP for conquest gear/crafted pieces.
I have not played wow since original Cata. This does not seem like Wow to me, more like gearing up in an aRPG. Wanted to give it a try 20 years later, but dunno if I would like it. Maybe yes since I dont have the time to be in a hardcore guild anymore.
once 11 releases thats the best tine to level for all my chars even 515 will be replaced with better gear once were level to new 80 cap no need for pets transmog mounts right now imho oh 11 will have best way for the professions also imho!
if you want to bow out that is up to you, every WoW player needs to take a break to avoid burnout anyway, it's merely to give you something to do as you wait for TWW. i myself will only be gearing my main and my Tanks as they will be going into the new expansion, everyone else will be farming old content as i enjoy Mists Remix and try to earn all the goodies, including the Tusks of Mannoroth.
Drake's crests only come from the caches you get from killing the world boss and doing the weekly events. I have not been able to cap those any week so far.
Saying you can cap drake's crests as a solo player is fake news

Gear from weeklies is awesome! Of course, once you drop, say, Shoulders from your 1st cache of the week, the 2nd cache has a 50% increased chance of also dropping Shoulders, the 3rd cache is random, but the 4th will 100% contain Shoulders. Such good fun! LOL
Time Rifts have only just started to give a Chest for Alts.... I now have 8 alts who are rather upset it's not retrospective 😡

Sparks are not solo content related since they require another player for them to create items, especially since there;s no way to tell the prices without asking, the game should display current price levels for items made, this is why it sucks and i never use it, it's trash because if you have to ask for a price anyone can charge whatever they want.
Can anyone think of a reason why I cant see or get the Weekly Quest on any of my characters?
You still have the Season 3 weekly quest in your log? Delete the Season 3 weekly to accept the Season 4 weekly (my best guess).

you can only wear 2 crafted gears with embelishements.
but i have toons nearly full slots of crafted gears from last patch(cause you need lots of sparks ).
you can wear crafted gear on each slots if you want but they must not be embelished.
i figured it out few months ago in another SOK video.

It's Awakened bosses that give higher gear. So this week is Zeralek. Next week is Emerald Dream.

If you didn't wipe on any LFR, you got lucky. Theres still a handful of bosses that can easily cause wipes, especially ol Razzy.

Got cache last week didn't get one this week from world boss.
There was an issue where world boss kill didnt give credit. If you didnt get credit for the kill you wouldnt have got the cache. Did you get credit for the world boss kill? If not, try to kill again the issue is supposed to be fixed.
@@tearren1 I tried it on 2 characters and my other half tried on hers and we didnt get one this week. Last week we got one on each toon
@@anthonyclaughan5620 Earlier in the week i tried on 2 characters and didnt get the cache but i also didnt get credit for the kill. You can see if you got credit for the kill by looking at the map if the world boss icon is still on the map, that means you didnt get credit for the kill. I then tried on the same characters that i didnt get credit for again yesterday and got the cache and credit for the kill. Just look for the world boss icon on the map, if the icon is still there the boss should still available for you. The issue should be fixed.

No, most people don't have the time to go to max item level for 3 chars tops.
I think bullion should be made permenant half the reason i stop playing is going weeks and weeks of getting awful rolls and awful vault pics i end up dropping off completely

Mostly a bait-and-switch video. Title says 515 gear "all by yourself", which (call me crazy) implies solo content. But one of the first things he mentions is joining the queue to do heroic dungeons. If I am forced to join a PUG group to do the content then I'm not doing it by myself. THEN he brings up "antique bronze bullion" which is RAID content! SignsOfKelani goes on the "mostly BS" list.
Also have a chance for a bag of gold upwards into 14k /nodders

The last hurrah weekly quest in valdraakan. Its less than 10% drop chance i think from opening cache reward.
@@Bob-ox3ci Weekly Cache from Valdrakken, Loamm and the Dream all have a chance to drop a sack of gold with up to 15K inside, they drop for me once in a while, using Alts you can hit a couple per week if you're lucky.
Just wait for TWW launch.

literally all you need is world gear for heroics, 441 is the minimum and TW was incredibly easy last week.
I don’t think you get crests on the dream surge balls anymore
they still dtop but it's not guaranteed, the Flowers however DO give crests, so keep an eye open for those green glowing goodies.

If you are answering based on your understanding from Season 3, the rules have changed.
If what you're saying is current and is true, it's like saying "ya, the Lich King does drop Invincible, it's just not guaranteed every kill".
If the orbs have Invincible drop rates for Crests, that doesn't help anyone.
@@wolfshanze5980 then it's still in the Flowers, look for those glowing green plants, i've picked them in S4 and they DID give Crests.

heroics might aswell be filled with npcs, they are incredibly easy and nobody talks to eachother anyway
@@hawkthemans You still have to do LFR, and if we’re being realistic about wyrm crests, you’ll need to do more than just convert vault every week if you want to be 515 before the season ends; remember, you also need the Wyrm crests to upgrade your tier to 515 even if you got it by solo questing

When Kelani speaks of playing "solo" he's referring to the 1st group of people... you will see others, but you don't have to interact with them.
If you fall into the 2nd group, I'm sorry... you are playing the wrong game... look up what "MMO" means, this game is not for you.

Realistically, you CAN get some 515 with fully solo content. But those pieces will deffinitely be more rare (like 1 per week). Everything else will be veteran level max. If you wish to exclusively do fully SOLO content at least. Everything else will include some group content. However, m0 is super ez = easy champion gear. And you can spam some m2 to farm wyrm crests. You dont need to go further
"all by yourself" .. lmao... raids/ dungeons aren't soloable.
