The heavy doesnt need a melee because he is the melee. He can perform aoe stomps that make short work of a swarm and can rival horde clear of the chainsword. There really is no downside.
I must admit thunder hammer is great but I’m more a heavy with multimelta guy But feel free to join my squad anytime I could do with someone to clear hordes so I can weaken bosses for the due list to take them out
Assault Thunder hammer drop attack on bosses or elites is my go to strategy to demolish bosses it takes a heck of a lot of hp from the boss and if time it right you can stun them.@@alexrowson-brown6568

Started with vanguard. Liked him so much that I maxed him out and got all of the relic weapons and armor. S tier class for sure. I can get through ruthless difficulty missions fighting massive hordes of the toughest enemies without going down once. It’s even easier if you have a friend who plays bulwark.
Yeah I almost exclusively run vanguard with melta and knife. It’s basically anti-everything. Melta just deletes swarms and knife and bolter for deleting target. And you basically get a free guardian relic every 3 minutes.

Bulwark, heavy and either a tactical or assault Heavy with multi melts is great for fire support and clearing things Tactical can backup that with a meltagun or other ranged weapon while also being able to clear hoardes in melee A bulwark works great with this to get right in the middle of it all a must have to go with the heavy You can swap tac with an assault depending on player preference

The bulwark is the tank that is up close and deals heavy melee and draws the attention, the heavy is the tank that will throw up a shield and then start delivering blistering machine gun fire, get up close and personal with the multi-melta which does devastating damage at close range, for the heavy plasma incinerator, which when charged is essentially a grenade launcher.

For those struggling with parrying on Bulwark, you have to tap the parry button or you’ll just block. I used to think it was the worst class because of no parry ability until I learned that. Now I’m able get more kills than people with range weapons pretty often. The power sword is so strong.

I play mostly assault and heavy, both to class level 7 so far, and idk what people are talking about that the assault is bad compared to other classes. Able to reach top place on most games. At other times, it gives good assists. You dont go charging as the frontline as the assault class. You gotta play with your maneuverability and backdoor or surprise enemies from platforms above where enemies least expect it while they are fighting other teammates.
@hm9715 sort of. You'll tank the hit but also be hit back a but with a small animation. I find tyrinids to be harder than chaos imo but blood letters with shields are annoying. Just get good at parrying that'll carry you far
Bulwark cause my boy I want a big shield and a massive sword going with it what is a point of a shield if you do not have a sword this class I love it a badass guy and+he wears a hood that's a big point
Me and my buddy were going through all the trials and we both ironically found that the Tactical had the hardest 💀 at least when I got off we thought that, I stopped after the Vanguard I’ll update this comment if I find a more difficult one 👍🏻

Funny enough as a Templar, I love the Vanguard. The ability to close in and duel any enemy is perfection especially as they stun from the grapple.

I'm loving Heavy. The stomp is a gamble, but not really necessary once you get some levels and weapon upgrades.
The heavy and the bulwark should have 4 tics of armor.
They do in PvP, but it also melts exceptionally fast. I'm hoping the missing armor in PvE is a bug.

All I really miss in this game is a Shotgun, the Big Gun Guy with a Shotgun as second weapon would be pure Battle Love.

Assault is tricky class if u wanted to initiate fight. Not to damaging sometime so find the moment to initiate the battle

I still have yet to find another marine to run vangaurd. Easily my favorite class.
The tactical class always gets the most kills in every match. It's just too good. The heavy is good too but easily countered by the bulwark's shield.

No, the assault barely gets in the air, it's like he farts 2 meters up unlike any other assault in other modes

Bulwark still requires to be decent at parrying. Im lvl 25 now and the shield will block 1 parryable melee hit then your open.
