This vid was my introduction to DZ and stumbled over it while searching to satisfy a terrible itch for some Zeppelin. Instantly addicted! Quickly purchased a CD and tee-shirt from their WEB site. Thanks Tortelvis. Drag the band out on tour and I'm sure you'll find a new generation of fans.
They definitely would im 21 n heard them when I was a kid from someone in my family n rediscovered them recently and everyone I've shown has thought they're awesome
Even Plant stated he preferred their version of your time is gonna come than their own. These guys really nailed it with their fresh remakes. Still have my copy and still give it a listen especially love Heartbreaker.
Your Time Is Gonna Come is my favorite track by them for sure. A definite standout, and, like Plant, I prefer it to the Zep version. As I prefer the Great White version of "Since I've Been Loving You", live at the Ritz in 1988, big-time over the Zep version. Any of 'em. Also the acoustic version by Great White, of "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You", is flawless.
They did put on one hell of a live show. Went to see them around 1990, had Mojo Nixon opening, and while I love Dread, that concert gave me a newfound love and respect for Mojo's music and stage antics.
I got to see Mojo jump up onto the front bar at the old 9:30 club in DC, stand up and immediately get whacked in the head by a ceiling fan. He jumped back down quick. Good times
I saw both Dread and Mojo at the same venue, but over a year apart. Mojo had the Toadliquors with him on the Horny Holidays tour, and their brief break mid-show consisted of each band member taking 2 shots of Jägermeister. Great memories!
@@coryburris8211 Awesome! I saw him with the Toadliquors as well, and loved when he had the keyboardist 'have sex' with a plastic sheep for playing Barry Manilow LOL.
I hate to admit that I am this old, but this how I remember Dread Zepplin. This crazy band that you had no choice to investigate Furthur.... I dont even remember what other bands played that night. if you should happen to meet them one day, they like Arrogant Bastard Ale.
Because you probably like Led Zep, appreciate reggae, and may like Elvis Presley. If that's not the case, then perhaps you just appreciate talented musicians regardless of how many record sales and attention they have.
I can just hear "Greta Van Dread Zepp-A-Flett", doing a Peter Tosh mash up of "Legalize It and Gallows Pole". Or a " Mike Love"reggea song and "Hot Dog". Hot diggity diggity, oh how I love Weeditty, Perry Marley Como.
Zepplin is zepplin . but these guys are brilliant. Xmon reggae styled zepp tunes with Elvis on mike?? Can't get anymore original than that as far as being a cover band goes .so ya I love em and have since the beginning ...
Holy shit, a mix of GENIUS and FUKIN GENIUS. As a big time fan of the ALL TIME GREATS, Frank Zappa, PRIMUS, ..and yes Mr. Yankovic, (couldn't spell, ya know, the first word?) These guys are on top of their game. They MASTER the ART of their domain. ...and NO, I am NOT on COCAINE! ...so quit asking already dammit... you people don't know when to quit....
Saw them in '92 at the Cattle Club in Sacramento. Fantastic show. I'd love to go back to those days.
Me too 😂good times
Saw angry Samoans at cattle club. These guys and gwar on shrooms. Best of times

Yeah, I can't believe Plant actually acknowledged this group. If I were Dread Zeppelin hearing that, it would have made my day.
Game changer

I used to see Mojo and Skid Roper at Steb's Amusement in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Thank you Sherm and Dave.

Glad I got to see these guys when I had the chance (The Fat Cat, Springfield MA, mid-1990s). Great show and a lot of fun.
How soft your fields so green
Can whisper tales of gore
Of how we calmed the tides of war
We are your overlords
Ridiculous lyrics. Jesus ...
@@gregshirley-jeffersonboule6258 Accurately tells how Britain felt about it's conquered lands, back in the day. More scary than ridiculous.
Hands down the best live show that I ever went to. Too bad they don't tour as much as they used to.
You missin that reggae rub-a-bub?
Like toast and roll? I am kinda hungry...
Saw the at Boz Scaggs club "Slims" in S.F. back around 1990. No one was sitting down at their shows. Tortelvis rules!
saw them in 89, it was out standing! mojo nixon was the opener!
@@downeybill must have been a hell of a show!
Saw an interview with Plant. He does enjoy this.
As a 40 year old this is one of my top 5 bands ever! I love this band and my 10 year old son rocks to it as well!
50 years old right now!
U playing in Toronto again... yer the best .... smoking the dread and getting red....
awesome....
Saw them in Columbia, MO at The Blue Note many times...even during a blizzard. GREAT shows!
Yes! I made the drive a few times myself
Dread is the Band.
How have I never heard of these guys and why do I love it so much?

@@dbsti3006 All of the above
The first time I ever heard about them was in the 90s and Robert Plant mentioned how great they were in an interview.
listen to the dread 5 times and your bloody hooked, audiocrack.
Love Dread Zeppelin
This is like a fever dream
Keep it going!!! Dread Zep Rules! - San Diego to LA!
These guys were pretty successful. They opened for INXS on their American tour in 1993.
That must have been a good show. I loved INXS back then. I just found out about these Dread Zep guys maybe 6 years ago.
saw them at the New Daisy on Beale street. Big fan!
Fun time opening for these guys...talented, funny, cool. :)
Saw them in Vancouver at The Railway early 90's or was the late 80's Love em!
8 years since a comment, lol. Love these guys. Made music an open interpretation.
This may be the weirdest, most random thing I see, all week.
Wish I knew someone who'd be as amused by this, as I am.
I am. Bizarre, including a man in underpants at the back was the icing on the cake.😂
@@ghengis430 Lol, being that it's been a year since I watched this, I'm going to have to rewatch it. And, be amused all over again 🤣

The Claw!
Is that Slash playing tambourine at 0:37?
Who else? 😂

This is just too good.
Still loving these guys in 2021.
2024. 🤘🤘🤘
0:53.... : 👍
Total sickness..yet I can't seem to get enough.
I played this at playback speed 1.25 and it was the perfect Zeppelin tempo match.
Totally forgot about these dudes. Classic
Dread Zeppelin rocks!!!!
Great rendition. Thank ya, thank ya very much!
Now do that in Robert Plants voice. Lol.
This is absolutely awesome❤❤ I want more more more
seen them 4 times.....always fun
Good one Erik, I love these guysz. Never seen them thought
Somehow I think zeppelin would approve.

Is that a Paul Languedoc guitar?
I still have 2 of their CDs
I still have un led ed and 5,000,000 on tape.
@@timheavyable 5,000,000 and It's Not Unusual, mon 😉
Mom can we have Led Zepplin?
No, we have Led Zepplin at home.
Led Zepplin at home:
Maybe the greatest band ever
Classic
Elvis and Tiny Tim had a love child, and the rest is history . . .
Red hot chili peppers eat your heart out! The bass player running around in shorts must be making fun of flea!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol, that's who I thought of. Though, it's entirely possible that Flea got the idea from this dude, too.
@@magnificenthonky that wouldn't surprise me at all 🤣
These guys were awesome!
I always saw dread zeppelin on the marquee at the crystal bay club. Wish I would have seen them.
Aight imma come over but you better not be a reggae Led Zeppelin cover band with an Elvis impersonator as your lead singer
Me:
Cara isso é muito bom!!!
At 0:14 he looks like Divine from the John Waters movies.
As a huge Zep fan, me and Elvis approve.
Frankincensed Elvis and Zeppelin WISH they were this talented. I don’t think the members of Dread Zeppelin seek their approval.
Love it!!!
Elvis hiding in plain sight.
I saw them years ago. They were awesome.
they have done like 600+ concerts
They were a lot of fun live, as long as you were up for a laugh.

Last I checked these guys are still performing
Genial
I am willing to pay good money to see these guys
Still better artist than anything the radio plays.
Anyone know what brand/model guitar that is at 1:35 mark? Thanks.
Probably a Jap from the 80s . Eastwood makes a quality copy now.
A ironic cover of a grandioso cover band? Im in.
What the fuck have you done, Dread Zippelin?!
You created a monster...
Then why do I like this so much?
How fun is this spectacle?!

I have yet to meet one person....just one that does not love this group in some way. Old or new ears. Same results.
Here I am 4 years after you saying the same thing. I seen them twice. Front line doing my best Elvis.
