    Recorded at Studio 91, Newbury and Masterlink Studios Send
    Videographer: Leo Mansell Shoot and Splice
    Produced by Patrick Haveron Rocket Science
    ‘Birdsong’ is my favourite track from 'More Worlds to Conquer' (Mascot 2022). In fact, I think it could be the best thing I’ve ever done. In my eyes, I just can’t find fault with it.
    “I had this particular piece of music for a while. The guitar parts and a melody for the vocals were there, but the song didn’t really come together 'till I saw a documentary about the First World War. It really struck me and got in my head. After I watched it, I started to write lyrics, and that’s what tied everything together.
    “I don’t really do big demos anymore; I just play and sing into a little recorder. So with that, we went into the studio, and my engineer, Sam, put down a drum rhythm, and I laid down the guitar. We kind of make the demo as we record the song. Then we lay down all the guitar parts and the bass, and Richard Watts comes in to do the vocals. He did a great job on this track."

    The song offering itself is great. Parts of Robin's solo via his signature wah sound, closely mimic an almost human voice. Robin himself said he could find no fault with this track. Of course, Taggarts steady drumming and the vocals of Watts bring the song from Trower's head to a fantastic reality. Trower and company deserve a Grammy nomination or a Blues Award nomination for this fine cd. Nice!

    Why do some people still compare robin to Hendrix?,they obviously don’t understand robins style or technique and the songs he plays. I’m 65 seen him and listened to him for years,it may not be obvious to some but there is a vast difference.

    • @johnnyr.8852
      @johnnyr.8852 Год назад +1

      Couldn't agree more. Hendrix was THE psychedelic guitar pioneer, showman, and front man, but I don't believe that his actual musicianship equals Trower's. Robin's chord voicings are sometimes very jazzy and much more musical to my ear. I have always said that Trower doesn't just write songs, he writes total compositions, and, in my opinion, there is a huge difference. Needless to say, again this is just my own opinion and not the law.

    Wow like fine wine Robin gets better with age.such tastefull licks.I never liked strats except as a kid I loved Ron woods sunburst maple neck white pickguard . I custom ordered the exact guitar in 1974 ,I believe the one I bought was a ew few years older as they changed out the pickguard . I hated the thin sound of the guitar I loved the fat Gibson sound so the guitar was a thing of beauty that got polished when I pulled out from under my bed, it still had the hang tags and clear plastic pickguard cover that was suppose to get peeled .the smell opening the fender black outer with a inner red orange crush case was intoxicating. The guitar in the pampered unplayed lcondition had I kept and never played in that condition would be 8000 guitar..Now I love the sound of the strat when hearing what this guitar master achieves . I bought a mint Japanese burst rosewood neck 1970s strat at a antique market 10 years ago for $25 and I told someone about it and told him he could have it for 125 .I pulled it out polished it and put the high E string on started listening to bridge of sighs and now I don’t want sell this machine YIKES WHAT DO I DO ? The action is low but the strings seem so tight compared to my 1970s univox les Paul that virtually plays itself. I’m wondering if a tech changed the strings if maybe the guitars action could be loosened up. ? Sounds just like a real fender vintage and looks beautifu just painful to bend and get that good vibrato action?

    There is not a bad sound in this album! Its different than his early albums, some slow and some faster cuts. I say this album is his best yet!

      Personally I think it's his best overall, and I've heard them all.
