I've played strat and listened to strat tones for 30+ years and this is by far the best tone I've heard on any guitar. I will seek this tone on my guitar for the rest of my life. I'm 75 now and absolutely love Robin's playing!
Wouldn't it be easy to recreate using the same gear? I know some about guitars. I was never a gearhead though.

Try a jmp 100 watt super lead late 70s head thru a jcm800 1960b cabinet. Thomas Organ wah, Uni-vibe and mxr cursive script dist+.
Robin tends to use the neck pickup exclusively, there is a video on Utoob where he tells you exactly the effects he uses, pretty simple gear.
@@Deliquescentinsight lve seen the video and saw Robin live many times going back to the 70s. In the 80s l was able to see his rig up close. He was using the above mentioned set-up. l have that set-up several times over and still play w/ his tone live. l now use a Deja-vibe and a analogman dist but can still nail that tone. My 76' jmp 2x12 combo believe it or not sounds almost identical w/ the old school wah circuit and a Uni vibe.
Check out Clapton's Pilgrim album, I hear some similarities of tone.

The first time I heard a Robin Trower song, I was amazed, he sounded like early Clapton and Hendrix both at once doing modern blues with a nod to the past. Beautiful, powerfully melodic and so bluesy in his subtle psychedelic way.
Robin is kind of a paper back SciFi cover song writer, I mean that respectfully, 'master of the 7 wonders'- that throaty 'dreamscape' tone is back!
