I try and listen to every drummer I can find but not one can come close o Dave Weckl. Dave Weckl is the most gifted drummer in history. I have never seen any other drummer make such sophisticated tom fills mixed with the snare drum.
Theres isn't a most gifted, they are gifted and each have their own feel and way of playing, and he is your favorite. which I can't knock. to me Bonham, Gadd, Mike Clark, Purdie, Tony, Simon Phillips, Blackwell, Zigaboo, the list goes on and on but just a few of my favorites. Sonor is my thing but these are amazing.
@@alfiebold3312 Buddy was fast but other than that he lacked variety in his sound. No one could go as fast on a drum set as buddy but then again I think its subjective. To me Buddy was not that enjoyable to listen to. There was not enough of a musical sound to his drumming he just blasted the drums every time full of speed.
@@Marreroortiz , He was heavily into Billy Cobham, in the mid to late 70s, and it is obvious why, the man is a master on the Drums. I live in Saint Louis, and am friends with some his old friends from way back.
Dave weckl is the best. when ever you watch other drummers, even the great ones, sounds less sophisticated and less musical. its not that you are trying to think less of them, but the fact that the ears do not lie. And i say this despite how much I love so many others
I disagree, Recording Customs (Tama vintage Superstar with sound rings or standard, are also great drums) , sound good, but are very one dimensional in comparison to the PHX. Yamaha PHX, Tama Starclassic Bubinga / Walnut, or Pearl Masterworks Sonic Select Shell Recipes with Diecast Hoops, are all really good top quality drums. Tama also has a long history of making really good limited edition snares, such as the Rosewood, or the Bell Brass are in a class of there own.

Now those are some beautiful Drums. In my wildest dreams i hope i could be a yamaha Artist one day.
Amazing drums and amazing drummer!!...and he is absolutely right when he talks about the highs and lows and depth of the PHX sound....
How can Dave Weckl have any idol drummers? He is more amazing than anyone he admires.

I Like the finish on these Line of Drums but I am a True Fan of the Yamaha Live Custom Line of Drums.
